      I purchased a new home, a technician was supposed to come out to install my INCLUDED FREE doorbell camera and garage control panel. A guardian salesman arrived and put me through a hard sell sales pitch on a security system I did not want. I am very bad with this kind of sales pressure and felt like I had to buy it. After signing I was told I could not cancel for 3 years. Almost a year later I found out from a neighbor I actually can cancel. When I called customer service I got a representative who was rude to me as soon as I said I was trying to cancel my service. She tried ti make me sound and feel stupid and said if i wanted to cancel, it would cost be almost 90% of what it would cost to continue through the 3 years. Guardian uses predatory sales practices on unsuspecting and naive young people who are buying their first home to get thousands of dollars for a service that does not even work most of the time.

      Hi *******,Im sorry that you feel frustrated with this situation. When a homeowner meets with Guardian to discuss security, there is no obligation to purchase. If the homeowner opts to have Guardian install a monitored security system, a contract is signed formalizing these services prior to installation. The agreement serves to protect both you and Guardian by defining services to be provided, rates, terms and obligations. The contract also identifies all conditions such as a three-day right to cancel, and if installation occurs, an early termination fee that *** apply if you wish to cancel prior to the end of the initial contract period. The contract was signed on December 8, 2022 and the system was not installed until December 20, providing ample opportunity for review of the agreement without the physical presence of a sales representative and cancellation without penalty, yet Guardian never received a request to cancel. Since then, Guardian has provided the security hardware needed along with professional installation in your home plus 24-hour a day monitoring of your system by the trained specialists at our UL-certified monitoring centers. Our ongoing service provides alarm signal monitoring and notification to first responders on your behalf when emergency situations arise, based on protocols that you have established with us. Continuing the service through the contract end date in 2025 or ending the service and paying an early termination fee are both options that are available to you. If you are having issues with your service not working, we are here to help and ask that you please give us a call at 1-800-PROTECT ***************) so that our care and technical team can assist.       We have used Guardian for many years and have never had an issue. They are prompt in their responses. That being said, Ive never needed any new items/repair of old items, which seems to be what we some of the problems are noted below. Overall, we have never had an issue.

      After being with this company for 13 years they have failed to fix their malfunctioning equipment. We paid every month on time. As a business we had to have proper security equipment that actually worked. Their tech came out and tried to fix the issue Guardian charged us almost $500 for tech to come but their tech was not able to fix the issue. Even after that we kept waiting for couple months to fix during which false alarms alerted police. Every night we would have to bipass to turn the security on. When they weren't able to fix the issue and provide security alarm we switched to another company now they are refusing to pay money back for tech we paid and making us pay for rest of the terms. This is ridiculous and bad customer care since we have been with them for 13 years. I will never recommend this company to anyone or any other business.
