Hello, This situation began when this company sent an email to ***** saying that her Norton 360 account was about to expire. ***** called them thinking it was ****** she was speaking with. They sold her a computer upgrade and protection, did a remote viewing of her PC and charged her the $349.99. When she received the email receipt the company on the receipt was Micro com support. Sensing something was off, we called ****** and they verified that Micro com was not affiliated with them. ***** tried again to speak with someone at Micro com and that was when she received the attached letter email to her as if she had written it herself and she had not. ***** continues to receive emails headed with the ****** logo stating that her account is about to be cancelled. Early in April 2023 I ordered - and paid for - a product from ****** - but when I attempted to download it I had difficulty so I called their support line. After being transferred a couple of times I thought I was still speaking to ****** so when they suggested I purchased the wrong product for my needs I agreed to purchase one at 3 times the price. It turns out I wasn't speaking with a ****** rep at all but a company called Micro PC Tech Inc. out of Philadelphia. Micro PC's invoice was for $149.99 and along with other services, indicated ****** had been installed. To-day I found that it wasn't. It would seem I was royally spammed. Is Micro PC Tech even a reliable business or some hacker taking advantage others. Please let me know how I can re-cover the $149.99. Thank you.Business Response

On Wednesday, October 26, 2022, I attempted to contact ****** *** because I was having issues after my *** computer Operating System was updated to *******. I called a number that represented itself as ******. The technical support person indicated he could assist me. He told me I should update my ****** plan and that this would fix my issue. He said I could purchase a 5-year plan at a discounted price that would save me $500 over the 5 years. I agreed to this and he then accessed my computer remotely to uninstall and reinstall *********. When it came time to make the transaction to pay for this purchase, I was charged $499.99 on one credit card and $299.99 on a second credit card. When I asked the individual how the charges would appear on my credit card statements he indicated it would be listed as Micro-PC Tech and that they work for ******. When I called the actual Norton phone number to follow up on this, I learned that I do not have a 5-year subscription to Norton and they have no record of my previous phone call. My Norton subscription had not been updated. This is when I realized that I'd been lied to. Since this date, I have had issues with my computer including an inability to log into my email account. I am worried the Micro-PC Tech technician has compromised my computer and cell phone, therefore I have not attempted to contact the company. The reference number for the $499.99 charge is ***********************.The reference number for the $299.99 charge is ***********************Business Response
