Beattie Home Improvements provided a spec for my insurance to fix the leak in my roof. Purportedly they fixed everything, but the next major rain storm, water again appeared in my kitchen and damaged the brand new dry wall fix the Beattie said they had fixed. I've been calling for months and have received no call back.Customer Answer

Finally hired a friend's cousin to redo my roof. He took pics. Beattie didn't use an underlayment to the shingles and to deal with the overlap of the 'old hidden roof' and the new roof, he provided only one piece of aluminum with a two inch overlap. Well the rain quickly got under those two inches and ran down into the 'old' roof and into my kitchen. An overall terrible job.Initial Complaint

Back on 4/29/2024 I got an estimate (#***) from Beattie Home Improvements to repair my screened-in side porch. I am going to try to include a copy of that estimate in this complaint.Before I could have the work done, a family emergency arose and I was unable to have it done. I told Mr. ******************** that I would contact him when I could have this work done. It took me a year to save enough money to do that, so I called him this past March 2025 I think and he came out to look at the project again and said that the contract would stand this year as well. While he was here for the porch, I asked him to assess my back deck. He did and said that if I had both projects done at the same time, he could do them for $10,000.00. That was very reasonable, to say the least. He started with the deck....tore down and rebuilt it, but didn't do the finish work on it. I had already given him $4,000.00 to start and then on 4/14/2025 he came by to tell me his father-in-law passed away and he had to go to ********** and would contact me when he returned, then asked for the balance we agreed to. I gave him another $5000.00 and that was the last I ever heard from him! He left me with a mess to clean up and did not finish the side porch that we originally contracted for. I've tried several times to contact him and he won't get back to me. Giving him all that money was my mistake, as I trusted him and he betrayed that trust! I am a widow with very little income and this is a huge burden on me as it takes a long time to save that kind of money. I will eat the $7000.00 , but I want $2000.00 back from him so I can start to save to have some one else finish the projects! Mr. ******************** has not even tried to address my concerns. He got $9000.00 of my money! I had $3000.00 saved and had to take a $7000.00 personal loan to make up that $10,000.00! Now I have to pay that loan off and the work is not done!Business Response

date 02/20/2025, invoice number 173, HIC Number PA184558, supposedly what he did was remove tarps and wood from roof which he did, patch all s**** holes and apply sealant anywhere needed around skylight and area of leak, also claims he sealed all penetrations on roof, charged $1'900, and gave a 2 year warranty against leaks. one week later it leaked, I called him and left a message, one week later he called back and said his father in law passed away he would see me the following week. that was 10 weeks ago, I have called and left about 8 messages with him and he has not called me back. The roof was taken care of . The interior was never fixed . He also never called till about 8 weeks after the job was done so I dont see it leaking right after it was completed . Just looking for a free jobCustomer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:He is lying. I called a week after the job was done that it was leaking. He claimed he was at his father in laws funeral. He gave a two year warranty on the work. It is now leaking worse than before and we now have damage inside and we cant use our stove while its raining. Our next step is to hire a lawyer.

Agreement was for $15 thousand , **** was going to power wash wooden deck surrounding cabin, sand it and stain it. Job completed in December 2024. March 2025, ***** stain chipping. Date of transaction: August 31, 2023 The amount of money you paid the business: $4,000.00.What the business committed to provide you: remove and replace all rotted deck boards; install new white vinyl lattice around entire perimeter of deck; power wash and prep deck for staining; apply Behr solid color deck stain on entire deck in color or choice; cleanup and haul away all debris.What the nature of the dispute is: Didn't finish the job. On 9/25/23 I contracted Beatie Home Improvements to replace my back porch roof & steps. He completed the job on 9/28 & 9/29/23in 10 hours. After examining the work I discovered the nail heads were not covered. There was damage done to the siding & the aluminum frame and the dining room window was dented. The first step of the back porch is too far off the ground and is unusable. My telephone didn't work because he moved the wire (the phone company fixed this.)
About 2 months later I noticed the roof is bubbling. I started calling him, usually with no return calls. He said 3 times he would be out but never showed. I also e-mailed him several times but he didn't respond.
