The following describes a government action that has been resolved by either a settlement or a decision by a court or administrative agency. If the matter is being appealed, it will be noted below.
On January 24, 2024, the PA Attorney General's announced an Assurance of Voluntary Compliance (AVC) with this company concerning the company's advertising and failure to provide debt settlement services. According to the AVC the business advertised debt settlement services to consumers, claiming that they could reduce consumers' debts by negotiating or litigating the debt claims. Despite receiving advance payments for these services, the company failed to provide services or provided them using non-attorney call center staff for processing even though consumers believed that attorneys would be providing the contracted services. Under the terms of the AVC, the company agreed to cease from violating the PA Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law, the Telemarketing Sales Rule, and to pay $25,000 in restitution and $10,000 in costs and penalties. Prior to the settlement, the company had cooperated with the Attorney General's office and issued $50,000 in restitution.
Consumers who believe they have been harmed by the firm may be eligible for restitution and should file a complaint with the PA Attorney General's office at www. attorneygeneral.com by April 23, 2024.
