I recently moved out of a very poorly "managed" complex. They took over in June 2021. I went without a working stove for over a month. I made numerous calls&emails & every time I actually got a hold of them they made excuses. The property went nearly 2 weeks without waste disposal bins. Ppl started piling trash where the bins should've been. For nearly 9 months they were sending me mail for ALL of the tenants on the property. I made numerous calls&emails. They finally fixed it after I told them it was their final chance, next mail they send to me for another tenant I would report them. When I moved in animals were not allowed. Then they took over & there were dogs barking at all hours or the day. Dog f**** everywhere. I complained numerous times. They had the water shut off numerous times for "emergency" with very little notice & then we had to run the water for 30+ mins for it to run clear. They suddenly started charging for utilities that were included on my original lease. I requested that all tenants get credit for the water shut offs because we had to run it so long to get safe ************ ignored it. They started to get citations from the City for the filth in the back that all the tenants were complaining about & then they asked us to clean it up. They entered my apt with my minors home alone after I told them they couldn't because they'd be home alone on the no school day that they picked. This place was a dump when I moved in. I left it in better **************** charged me for things that were as they were or better when I moved out. Batteries that I replaced before moving. The outside door that wouldn't even close when I moved in. I talked to them about a few of the comments on the 57p document that they sent to me and I was assured that I wasn't being charged for all of it. Every time an apartment becomes vacant since they took over has been gutted and upgraded. They're charging me $650 for a tiny bit of paint. Everything else is bogus.

I applied for a rental unit on 11/19 Total fees paid for applying were $122. There was no indication in the application that I must have a credit score of 650. Uptown Property denied my application based on this and refused to refund my money. I took screen shot photos of the application when I applied, showing no requirement of credit score. I asked to have a co-signer and was denied, but never given a reason. I attempted to speak w/supervisor several times and was told one would call me and never did. The unit I applied for never had photographs of interior. I believe they are scamming potential renters. They use an answering service that pre-screens calls so people like me are left unable to talk to an actual employee.
