I'm a new customer with CC and was pleased with the service. I recommended CC to a family member and they switched to CC. I accessed my account online and noticed a box about **************** referrals (see How Referrals Work below as copied from CC's website). I called to let them know I had referred a family member and inquired about the $10 credit. I was told company policy does not allow family members who live at the same address to get the credit! Their website mentions NOTHING about exclusions. I hate to break this to CC - many family members live at the same address!! The $10 is nothing, it's the principle of the matter. I asked to speak to a supervisor. The "supervisor" wouldn't let me speak, kept talking over me and, in my opinion, was very unprofessional. Now I want nothing to do with CC.HOW REFERRALS WORK We appreciate your business and would like to pay you back as well as give you the chance to pay it forward. Tell friends and family about Consumer Cellular's great no-contract service, including low monthly rates and 100% satisfaction guarantee. When they sign up for service, you'll both get a $10 referral credit. Refer as many people as you wantyoull earn a $10 credit for each one as our way of thanking you for helping us tell our story. Youll both see the credit on your first invoice after your friend or family member signs up for service.

I'd give negative star if I could. Signed up for service with their home phone box. Paid for it had it 4 months. Every month had to call to get it reconnected every month. They sent a new box to me and I returned the other one and that one didn't even go 1 day without working. Called to cancel service got a supervisor for the 2nd time. Asked what would I think if they traded that box for a regular flip phone to keep me as customer. I told them ok 1 more try. Got put on hold for 10 minute only to be told they couldn't because it had been 4 months so I'm out hard earned dollars for nothing. This should fall under a lemon law thing because in 4 months with the same problem. But no. So if your thinking about going this cheap route for phone service this is not where you should be looking. Oh and by the way their customer service hot line is only available from 8 am to 8 pm Monday through Friday and 6 pm on weekends so hard to get help for problems. They advertise their big hug care about you but in the end they are just like everyone else. Take your money and run. AARP needs to stop teaming with them also because the so called discount you get is a joke.

We are being charged $5 monthly because we don't do AutoPay. We don't allow anyone to access our check books. Just don't think that is good business to charge because we are cautious with our money. May cause us to lose a phone line and a phone number because of the charge that is not necessary. We have excellent credit ratings and don't think that the charge is warranted.

I switched from **** to consumer cellular and have received 2 bills on my checking account that says ****, but I closed their account 2 mo ago. I went to the **** store that I canceled service with, they said they have had 3 other people come in to make the same complaint. I called consumer cellular to file a complaint, the lady got hateful with me and told me to have my bank file fraud charges, then hung up on me.

I switched to ********************** to get better service which ended up being a nightmare! I went to a Target store to get started and could not find a single person working there for consumer cellular. The store manager at Target said there hadn't Been a ****** there in days at the Bayou B!vs store. So I was determined to talk to a rep and I looked up number and called them. After numerous calls and disconnected calls, finally I made contact with a sales rep. So I purchased a phone for my wife and I was told to call them when I got the phone and they would set everything up. When I called to set it up the sales rep disconnected me a number of times . finally a rep stayed on the line and could not connect new phone, messed up my phone and told me to go to the store where is no rep. *** very rude.I had 1 dot signal strength.. Not a bar, but a dot. So I went back to my old carrier less than 12 hrs from start to finish. The old carrier gladly took me back, straightened out my phone, reconnected wife's phone. So the ****** I learned is never try to set up a new online and never again deal with a rude rep . Their msg on the phone states 30 days to return phone for any reason and end service. Now they say I owe for service when the phone was not usable. Their service is not optimal for the ********* area and they have no sales reps. ********************** is the worst!!

After receiving our latest bill from ******* with a large price increase, we decided to switch our cellular service to Consumer Cellular. They had nice commercials and promoted their low-cost service for senior citizens. Unfortunately, the switch was not as simple as we expected.Consumer Cellular is supported by a US based customer service organization, and the majority of them had no idea what they were doing. They attempt to provide customers with customer service and technical support using a manual which was not easy to follow. What I kept hearing from them were excuses why our phones were not working instead of providing us with solutions.Anyhow, our switch to Consumer Cellular was a painful experience, and if we had to do it once again, we would not repeat the same mistake. Our problem started with the *** cards Consumer Cellular provided us to support our switch from *******. Unfortunately, one of the *** cards they mailed to us was bad. The technical support person in our local Target store was helpless. He was an independent contractor with limited technical knowledge and limited commitment/ability to solve our issues. He was being treated very poorly by his management and it reflected in his attitude toward us as Consumer Cellular customers. He managed to install the *** cards provided to us by Consumer Cellular but could not overcome the incompetency of the Consumer Cellular representatives with whom he was speaking on the phone. When something didnt work the generic solution provided by the Consumer Cellular representative was to Change a *** card. We ended up with two useless cell phones with no ability to receive phone calls or send/receive text messages. After changing a few *** cards with no real solution to our ongoing operational issues, and after wiping one of our phones clean by one of the Consumer Cellular contractors, my wife ended up in the Apple store. A very efficient associate referred her back to the ******* store (to pay our outstandin
