Where do I begin? This experience purchasing a car on Driveway.com has been nothing but a nightmare. I purchased a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I was trading in my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee.I have spoken to about 8-12 people within this company and none of them are on same page. I was told my new vehicle arrived in ** January 31. That was later found out to be a lie. It was in ******** two hours away. I paid for car to be shipped from **********. At one point lady suggested I go pick it up. Then they wanted to drop car at my job with my old car already there. I was also told to illegally drive my car to get emissions done which I refused to do. I asked if I could transfer my plates and was told yes would be simple and easy furthest from the truth. I paid for registration services now they are dumping the registration responsibility on me because the car is from ********** and has no temp plates for state of CT. I was told that my title which the car I paid cash for would be released to me last Thursday I was told in a few days would be expedited. That was another lie. The guy was new and another custormer service lady told me wrong info was given to me another 5-7 days for title to be released to me. I purchased the vehicle 1/22/2025 wired the amount and still do not have a legal vehicle to drive. The vehicle has been in my possesion for over a week. I had a 7 day window to drive the vehicle and its sitting in my driveway since it arrived Monday night 2/10/2025. I just got a text saying they will pick up trade in and no one told me this. They want my trade in then they will have to provide a rental car. This is shady business practice all of what has transpired and people should know. I will never trade in or purchase a vehicle. Now I am concerned about the condition of the vehicle. Also my vehicle has a dent in the right bumper and none of the pictures showed that bump.Also sent wrong docs for new car was sent trade in paperwork. Incompetent and unprofessional.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:Until my car title is in my hand I will not be happy. There was another delay today in a document that needs my signature. It did not arrive at *** and I have to wait another day which is another day I do not have the title. You had no choice but to provide a rental car as you were taking my trade in. You could not leave me stranded without a vehicle. I am paying an extra 125$ for insurance for a car the last two weeks one of which has been sitting in my driveway. Until my registration fees are returned to me and this 2017 **** is registered and legal to drive I will not be satisfied. Now Im waiting for trade in to be picked up its almost 830 pm at night and I said 5 pm or after is a good time. The car in my driveway. Nothing has been smooth in this process its extremely frustrating and not okay.

Throughout the course of us working on titling and registering this vehicle, certain documents and inspections were required to be completed by the customer. On numerous occasions the customer was combative in communications and displayed an overall lack of cooperation. At our expense, we were able to get certain inspections completed to provide a title. This title is an Electronic title with the state. We have provided all other documentation necessary for the customer to complete their registration as long as they take a SMOG test result to the *** with them. We will reach out to the CA *** to make sure there are no other roadblocks.

I paid for my car in full with confirmation of receipt 11/12/2024.I received my car December 3, 2024. An e-check was completed in the state of **** December 2, 2024.Upon review of the car on 12/3/2024 I found 2 undisclosed damaged parts after requesting pictures from employee Qwoy of any damage. I sent those pictures to **** ******* Who addressed one of the two and was willing to pay $100 for one of the damages and not address the other. He stated it was in the pictures online however it was not in the pictures disclosed by Driveway employee of any damage on the vehicle. I told him I would get a quote for the part and provided to him for payment when possible.On 12/20/2024 I received An email letting me know **** ******* would be I assigned contractor. The email also stated it needs the front and the back of my Social Security card for the Ohio DMV. They sent a link and I uploaded it within the hour.On 1/13/2025 I received an email from ****** Who stated: ***** ******,Im reaching out today because the "Out of State Inspection" has expired, the Ohio *** wants a new one. I apologize for the delays, all your other documents are ready and we did get your SSN. This is the last item we need before we can submit your paperwork to Ohio ***. Please note that the car had an Ohio inspection on 12/2/2024 On 12/24/24: from **** *******: I also got conformation we are working on processing your DMV paperwork again now that we have your ****** the meantime, I had to go get a set of temporary tags because they would not provide me with others due to laws of **********. They have all paperwork necessary and still holding onto my tags and my title. **** said this could take 2 to 4 more weeks . By then my tags will have expired and I was supposed to get my plates within 30 days. I am still without plates and have no guarantee. I purchased a 2025 Buick Envista from Driveway, delivered November 27, 2024. Per Driveway included in the vehicle was suppose to be a temporary 60 day tag which was to be used until my permanent plates arrived. Well, that wasn't the case. When the vehicle was delivered the 60 day tag was NOT included in the vehicle. I called Driveway and went back and forth with CSR's and supervisors, finally receiving my 60 day tags on December 6, 2024, which was 9 days after my vehicle was delivered and that was by email. The hard temp plates didn't arrive until December 9, ********** is January 21, 2025 I still have yet to receive my permanent plates and registration. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have a driving job which means I need auto insurance, registration and valid plates. At this point, I only have auto insurance which isn't enough to keep my job. I've kept a record of every call, text and email which started December 16, 2024. I've reached out a total of 12 times to both ***'s and Supervisors. I've been given misleading information, the run arounds, unreturned phone calls, emails and promises that hasn't been kept.Per Driveway, registration of vehicle and plates would be processed and mailed 2-4 weeks after delivery of vehicle per State of *********. It's been close to 8 weeks and I still haven't received my registration and plates The sad part is I'm still being given the run arounds as to why I may not have them. Not only are my temporary plates expiring, but I as well, won't have my driving job any longer because I lack the necessary requirements which are current registration and valid plates. I've never experienced such a high level of unprofessionalism, disregard and lack of concern. I've been told nothing but lies over and over again. I will be sending certified, notarized letters to every executive weekly until I receive my registration and plates.I need to know when I'll be receiving my registration and plates.I need answers NOW!Business Response

Good morning,Thank you for taking time to listen to me.. this company has been horrible from start to finish.. the car came almost a month in half late.. the company did pay for half a car payment .. But, I still had to pay the other half. The car a fine for 2 months but started breaking down and having all types of problems . I found a sho- that takes their warranty which is about an hour from where I live. The car has been turned into the shop a total of five times.. it still isnt fixed and they honestly dont know whats wrong with it. The warranty company has paid close to $10,000 in counting in the car still isnt *********** way has sent me $474 since my endless bad reviews to try to cover what I was fourth through back October .. but its been problems on top of problems ever since. Today January 19th the car still isnt fixed.. the **************** has only paid for the Rental from yesterday..I have to pay enterprise rent a car a lot of money just until my car is fixed.. my mechanic is frustrated and so am II would like to be compensated .. at this point I need to trade the car in.. my time and money and emotions are at stake. I want the full value of the car to trade in or help with trading it in at this point .. I was literally sold a lemon and literally left alone to deal with it.. this isnt fair!Business Response

I put down a deposit on a vehicle at 2:30 pm CST on 1/17/25. I spoke with Shakeidra around 3:30 pm cst. She informed me that driveway.com had sent a notification of the vehicle sale to the dealership and the car would be pulled from the sales floor. Prior to this I had called the dealership with a few questions about the vehicle with VIN IN5TDGZRBH5MS558702. At 3:40 pm CST ******* ****** from ******************* ***** informed me the vehicle was still available for sale. The next morning on 1/18/25 I was informed by Shakeidra that the vehicle is on an extended test drive and most likely will not be available. I spoke with *******` the manager at driveway.com. On 12/30, I started the process of purchasing a ****** Pathfinder online. I completed the ridiculous identify checks and submitted a $500 deposit. On 1/3 I found a message in my span folder notifying me that the car was sold to someone else. I requested a refund upon receiving this message. On 1/5 received a message the refund was sent for processing and would hit my account in 3-5 business days. on 1/13 I asked where the refund was as it has been more than 5 business days. I was told that things were delayed due to the snowstorms. 1/14, the money is still not in my account and I have no further updates. I asked for a refund the 3rd.
I followed up the 13th when no refund was issued.
I was told the 13th the matter would be looked into
No refund was issued until a complaint was made to the Better Business Bureau as shown by the timestamp on the receipt.

I bought a 2014 ****** Versa Note from Driveway.com. The vehicle came with a 60-day warranty and a 7-day return period. I paid a $500 deposit on December 13, 2024, via debit card and sent an additional $8,747.04 on December 23, 2024. The car was shipped to me and arrived on January 3, 2025. The day after receiving the vehicle, I test-drove it, and it became clear that the car had severe pre-existing transmission issues, as well as many other minor issues. On January 4, I contacted Driveway to start the 7-day return process. I was told the return department would reach out within 24 hours and have been told this every day since. It is now January 7. I was also told that a $650 delivery fee would not be refunded despite the car being in an unsafe driving condition. I am now worried if and when I will get a refund and am wondering if there is any way I could get assistance with solving the issues with Driveway.com.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I would have been fine with the delivery fee not being refunded if the car arrived in a safe driveable condition as gurranteed by an associate of driveway on driveway.com (as shown in the attachment), but the car was not in a safe driveable condition when it arrived, in my opinion at least, as it struggled to reach get up to even 30mph in a 55mph zone which could have caused a life-threatening accident. Furthermore, from not only the guarantee given on the site but also the time and money I wasted from buying the vehicle, paying for insurance to purchase, paying a fee to send a wire transfer, and now dealing with the return process and waiting for pick and refund of the vehicle to then start a search to buy another vehicle I believe the refund of the full purchase amount of the vehicle including the delivery fee is more than fair to ask for. Also, I believe there is evidence outside the car actually arriving with obvious transmission issues that the dealership had knowledge of the issues as in the CARFAX of the vehicle it shows "transmission service and fluid change" done by the dealership which I believe was their attempt to hide the issue until after the 7-day period.

Purchased a 2021 Kia ********* SX and returned vehicle within dealership's 7-day full money back policy. My bank, **** payed out the dealership for $41,795.94 for the purchase of vehicle. I have been in contact with dealership to exchange the vehicle for a 2022 Kia *********, which I put money down to hold vehicle. I have sent Driveway instructions to refund the full amount to USAA after the 2021 Kia ********* was received back at dealership. It has been 14 days since receiving instructions and vehicle back. **** has not received the refunded amount. Today, January 3, 2025, I checked on Driveway website and the 2022 Kia ********* that I put money down and submitted all necessary documents for the purchase was seen back on sale without notifying me or fully reimbursing me or USAA for all amounts paid to the dealership. Driveway has received $44,465.94 total for both vehicles and no amount has been refunded as it has been over one month since receiving funds. Additionally, since the original purchase of the 2022 Kia *********, Driveway has increased the sales price an additional $1,200.Business Response

My husband and I attempted to purchase a vehicle from here and put down a $500 deposit. The vehicle was sold to another party so we requested our $500 back.
