1/7/24- family member’s received calls and messages from JRC regarding contact for me. I returned call for additional information. The initial number transferred me to another number. I was told that I’m being sued for web fraud and that I received a loan which was fraud. I discussed with representative that I don’t recall receiving web loan etc and she states it was deposited into my trust account. Again I don’t recall this nor do I have a trust account. She then mentioned wage garnishment. This should be illegal to first contact friends, neighbors and family members to reach me as well as assume I committed fraud.Business Response

I received a letter from *** *** ***** stating that they bought my account and that they are offering a settlement of $429.32 and the balance is $1717.26. I have NEVER taken a loan out with this company. I believe this is a scam and would like for American Web Loan and *** *** ***** to stop sending any future garbage to my mailing address because they will be getting absolutely nothing from me with their scamming tactics. We received a call from American Web Loans stating we had taken out a loan in 2019 in the amount of $550.00 that is now at $1,432.00. We did not take out a loan and requested documents showing proof but all they sent was an email saying we owed them money. We have NEVER received any other information until they called us on December 5, 2024. They have the last 4 digits of my husband’s social security number and our address, however we lived in a different state in 2019 and have only lived at our current address for 2 years. I believe this is a scam of some sort and refuse to be harassed over this. I will file my own claim against them if they continue to harass us and cannot provide proof with documentation. They said they wanted to offer a settlement to us. Well, our settlement offer is we pay you nothing and you leave us alone. If I find anything on our credit report in relation to this company I will file suit for damages, defamation and fraud.Business Response

Received emails stating I have overdue payments on an account I know nothing about. I called to report it as fraudulent and filed an Identity Theft Report with them. I received an email stating that I needed to repay the money deposited into my bank account, but I never had any money deposited by them. I have the bank records to prove it. I informed them of all this and at this point I have not received a reply. Plus I checked all my credit reports and their name does not show up on any of them, so I don't understand how I can have an account with them and it not show up on my credit. Myself and my Mother have been being harassed by American Web Loan. They are stating that I have had a loan, that I opened with an e-signature, and that I have not paid on it. I have never had a loan from AWL. They stated that they contacted my bank and that my bank verified that I am committing fraud. I told them I would speak to my bank directly. I requested for them to send me information and proof of the loan. I also requested an e-signature verification. They refused and stated that theyre filing a lawsuit against me if I dont agree to make payments or to pay off the loan entirely. I told them I will not pay on a loan that I did not obtain. They said they are now going to push the lawsuit forward. I called my bank and they informed me that there was nothing on my file for/from American Web Loan. They told me that they would not speak to AWL or any other company concerning my personal financial information. They also checked the entirety of my account and confirmed that I never had a loan with American Web Loan. My bank told me not to correspond with AWL from here on out and to file a fraud claim in which I did.Business Response
