Let me add to the negative comments. I should have checked this site first. Rite Cut came to my door soliciting business on 10 September 2024. I did have a large tree that needed to come down, I had an estimate of $1600 from another company to cut it down but that company couldn’t take out the stump. Rite Cut gave a quote of $1500 to include the stump and no payment due until I was satisfied. He said if I paid cash he wouldn’t include the tax. I should have been suspicious when I was given a hand written estimate in a generic 3x5 receipt slip, no letterhead. Also, I asked for a business card he said he was out but picking some up at the printers the next day.
They showed up the next day and wouldn’t you know the printer didn’t have the business cards done yet. They took down the tree down to the stump it took all day and it was too late to haul the wood off to the dump. Another $500 in service were agreed to. They changed their tune about me waiting to pay until I was satisfied saying their boss needed to pay them that day. I didn’t have a good feeling but sided with trusting them, I should have listened to that feeling. After paying I asked when they were coming back for the stump. The foreman I made the agreement with at first disputed the stump was included in the price. They went on to say how their equipment was broken and it is expensive to repair this wasn’t brought up when we made the agreement. The boss then told me to give him a week and he’d work something out.
I called back in a week and he asked me to send him my address and he’d send the crew over that day. They hadn’t showed and at 4:00 I called and he said they were supposed to be on the way over and he’d call them to check where they were at and call back. He never called and his phone went right to voice mail but I could not leave a message because his voicemail box was full. Also the number on the BBB site has been disconnected.Initial Complaint

A couple of men from. RITE CUT TREE CARE, was driving by my house and offered to trim my trees for me. The man I spoke with, is Jake, his uncle owns Rite Cut Tree Care. I wanted the big tree in
my front yard to be trimmed first. They offered to do that tree plus a couple other trees on my property, and trim my bushes and give me two free check ups during the year. They told me they would do all of this for $1,400. I agreed to that amount and they started to work. They left the tree that I wanted done first until last. They did trim a little bit out of it and then left. I called them up and explained that I paid them for the tree in the front to be trimmed and they need to come back and finish the job. The two limbs that I was talking about when I agreed to the amount weren't even touched. Those two limbs were dead and hanging over mine and the neighbors driveway . Pieces of my dead limbs have been falling out since this company left and not completed the job, another Branch fell off my tree and hit the neighbors CD player and scratched it, she was not happy about that. I called Rite Tree Care and explained they needed to come and finish the job. They did come back and removed only one limb and said they needed a special truck to finish the job. At that time they told me the truck was broke down and it should take a week and they will be back. It's been over a month and they have not come back. I called them and left a message and eventually they called me back. However, when I told them who I was they hung up on me and I can't get them to respond to my calls anymore. I want them to come back and finish the job. They did do a good job on what they had touched but they didn't do everything we had agreed to. I just want the job finished or I want a refund of $400.Initial Complaint

On January 24, 2024, Rite Cut Tree Care was contracted (***** *******/***** ******) to cut down and remove the stump of a fairly small ornamental flowering tree in my back yard which had a bug infestation. After cutting down the tree they did a very minimal trim of two trees in the front yard the same type as the one cut down. After cutting down the tree they said they were not able to remove the stump and to call in May to schedule the stump removal. Also stated on their contract to return two times for chemical treatments and then trim/cut back honeysuckle bushes.
As agreed, called in early May to get the remaining work scheduled and completed as per their contract. The first call (************ ***** ******/owner). Mr. ****** said ***** *******, who I believe is a nephew of the owner, was not in that day and asked that he call me the next day when he returned. Didn’t get a call back so a few days later I called again. Mr. ****** answered the phone number on their business card and said they would be out to spray that day when I reminded him of all the items still to be completed on he contract. When I mentioned grinding the stump he said that the equipment to do that was not on their truck that day and he would call me back. Never got a call back and after calling numerous times and it went directly to voice mail it was obvious he was blocking my call.
I will forward a copy of the agreement on work to be done that was prepared by ***** *******.Initial Complaint

*** ******* ****** and two others came to my residence to solicit some tree triming services at 11:21 Am. Usally I do not entrertain theses services however for some reason I decided to give them a shot. We disscussed them to trim 2 trees in the front and take down one small tree in the back and another larger dead tree in the front yard, along with hauling away all debries. We agreed on $1600.00. At 11:25 I left to the US Bank in downtown miamisburg to retrive the cash, I returned at 11:36 realizing i had forgottn my wallet, I noticed they had already began the work and they metioned to me they had to drop there trailer so ******* could run back to Dayton to get there bigger saw. Around 13:46 ******** return at this point they had finished the two front trees and kind of the back tree they cut it down to a small stump and they cleaned up most of the big debis. The last thing they had was the large deaad tree in the front yard after a struggle they finally cut it down just missing my garage. I went to talk to ******* he asked if it would be alright if his clean up crew came back out in a couple of day to pick up the rest that they cut up, I aggred as long as they came back. I paid *** ****** the agreed $1600.00, and I had to leave. At 13:55 one of the other workers comes to my door and tell my fieance that we agreed on $1700.00. I turned around Around 13:59 i arrived back and just went ahed and paid the extra $100.00. Fast fowward to 1/22/2024 the left over debris is still in my yard I called *** ****** at 10:08 and asked on an ETA for them to remove the wood, he said he had to call his guy and get back with me. At 14:23 I still had not heard from ********* so aI reached back out I got 2 rings and then a Voicemail, I left one asking him to contacrt me back. No response on 1/23/2024 I called again at 10:08 2 rings and straight to voicemail, I once again left a message. I assume he has blocked my calls at this point.
