  On June 24, 2025, I received a knock on my door from a guy saying he was taking care of some trees at my next door neighbors and he could cut some limbs off my oak tree to create a wind tunnel to decrease chances of the tree blowing over onto my house in a wind storm. Also, he would fill in holes with a foam and cover with black tarry ubstance. I hesitated and was indicating I didn't think I wanted this, especially after he quoted a very high rate. He then lowered it to 2000.00 and I agreed. A couple weeks later, my yard was covered with green oak leaves. I had to begin raking my yard in July as if it were the middle of Fall. That is when I 1st learned about oak wilt. A fungus that occurs when oak limbs are cut in spring, summer, early fall. Once a tree has oak wilt, it spreads via the root system to nearby oaks and always kills the infected tree. I attempted to call the number on my handwritten invoice 3X, and got a voice mail saying I had reached Josh Keaton but never received a return call. The name Jeff Ball was written on the invoice as: salesman - I searched for a Jeff Ball but did not locate this person whom I am assuming is the one who knocked on my door. I then Googled, Keaton's Tree Care, found this business listed as being in Ohio (I live in Michigan) - I called the number for the Ohio business and got recording, "calling restrictions preventing call".
  I had to hire a tree company with certified arborists to remove my now dying oak and treat the live oak that is near it to prevent it from succumbing to the same fate. Cost: 4,800+
  I filed a report with my local police department, and can only hope I can get some restitution. Or at least prevent this from happening to others.
  I feel like a fool for agreeing to this "service" - If Keaton's Tree Care is a legitimate tree care business they should have known what happens when oak tree limbs are cut in the warmer months.

  They did a great job with all of the many little things I wanted done - various branches trimmed and a couple of small trees in the wooded area removed. They did everything exactly as I explained it. The crew was really professional and friendly. **** was the lead guy and he pointed out a diseased tree that I wouldn't have noticed otherwise. The price was very good, too. I would definitely work with them again.

  They took care of two major issues with two trees. They are certified, insured professional specialists. We are very pleased with the work and cleanup. We will give them first bid for any future needs. August 2024

  On 6/28/2024, Keaton’s Tree Care was giving my neighbor an estimated and I asked them for one as well. They were very accommodating. I needed to have a tree repaired and small trees and overgrown bushes removed. They quoted me a very fair price and started the work immediately! Jeff was friendly and helpful from the start. He and his crew were pleasant, friendly and knowledgeable. All of the work completed absolutely exceeded my expectations and their cleanup was extremely thorough. I highly recommend them for your tree and brush removal needs!

  These guys were great. I have a lot of experience in this industry. They were professional, educational, responsive, and cleaned up very well. We had 2 trees removed, another trimmed, 2 stumps ground. They dealt with the weather of April and got the job done right. And no, I'm not related to them or being paid to review. I've seen other prior year reviews, of them and perhaps they've learned how to stay in this industry through integrity and doing the right thing. Would recommend them to you.

  Keaton’s Tree Care’s crew was very professional and polite. The person who was cutting the branches used the correct equipment and wore the proper protective items. There was a spotter observing the person in the tree who was cutting the branches. The employees were safety conscious while performing the project. While providing the service, the crew was continuously removing the debris from my yard. At the end, all debris was removed from my yard and street. The crew returned the yard to its original condition minus the maple tree. Payment was not requested prior to my acceptance of the work performed. Compared to other tree companies performing work in my area, this company was superior.
  The company performed the following services: removed the maple tree, ground down the stump, filled the stump hole with topsoil and planted grass on the filled in hole. After completing the forementioned tasks, the arborist planted two trees in my front yard.

  They did a good job trimming and bringing down trees hanging over my house and barn. Were very careful and skillful at not damaging structures. They did a good job of cleaning up. I would use them again.
