In August 2018 Microtek responded to BBB's concerns about the pattern of complaints and released the following information: Microtek Marine LLC Terms and Conditions for purchases and repair orders, in particular, Sections 5,9 & 14 address the processing of orders with long lead time legacy parts mainly coming from China and South Korea.
Microtek further explained to BBB that the money customers pay up front is not prepayment for the repair, it is simply the charge for tear down and estimate. Full payment is required once Microtek receives the parts from the manufacturer and they are ready to commence repairs.
