  Great Day Improvements is a privately held manufacturer and direct-to-consumer home improvement organization. The company owns and operates over 30 facilities across the country including 2 manufacturing plants.   
• Advertising Review:

  On May 5, 2022 BBB contacted the business regarding sequentially advertised sales on its website.  The business offered, “Buy 1, Get 1 50% off Windows & Patio Doors. *Offer ends 05/03/2022” and then, “25% off Windows & Patio Doors. *Offer expires 05/31/2022.”

  According to the BBB Code of Advertising, the former price must be the actual price at which the advertiser has openly and actively offered the product or service for sale, for a reasonably substantial period of time, in the recent, regular course of business, honestly and in good faith. 

  Additionally, the business advertised a “Buy 4, Get 1 Free” offer on its windows.

  According to the BBB Code of Advertising, The advertiser must clearly and conspicuously disclose this condition with the “free” offer and must not have increased the normal price of the product or service to be purchased nor reduced its quantity or quality.

  Because the consumer continually searches for the best buy and regards the offer of “free” products or services to be a special bargain, all such offers must be made with extreme care so as to avoid any possibility that consumers will be misled or deceived. Representative language frequently used in such offers includes:

  • "Free"
  • "Buy 1-Get-1 Free"

  • "50% off with Purchase of Two"
  • "1/2 Off"  

  Whenever such an offer is made to advertisers must make clear at the outset all terms and conditions of the offer.

  On 5/24/2022, the business responded to BBB.  It provided its assurance that its MSRP prices are genuine and real.  It stated, “We do not artificially inflate the cost. The discount advertised is a REAL discount off the MSRP. Keep in mind, all our products are custom made for each home, so depending on the options chosen, the size, the type of installation, site conditions etc. prices will VARY from job to job given the variables at EACH home.” The business also stated that its offer didn’t say “free”, it said “Buy 1, Get 1 50% Off” and makes it perfectly clear at the outset the terms and conditions of the offer which are simply – Buy 1 Window or Patio Door and get the next window or patio door of equal or lesser value for 50% Off MSRP.  The business provided examples of its pricing.
