On September 16 received junk mail is what I call it saying drive by your residence and noticed gutter and foundation damage. No they did not the travels of junk wanna snag a potential customer is monitored up entrance plus I went back through my security cameras so nope they didn't. I called to get removed yet again from their I'll grab you as a customer. Two different workers obviously thought oh wait she's joking. Trust me at that point I was mad!!!! So ... I asked where are you getting your names and addresses from answer oh I can't answer that it's below my pay grade excuse me!!!!! So now here they have a complaint to answer to. I know they didn't get my info offline federal government helped me remove. So .... This complaint should open their eyes and make them aware people are just frankly fed up
I have requested removal few years back as well. So obviously two years later they think oh she's forgot. Nope that's not happened either I keep notes in a book.
Businesses need to wake up smell the coffee quick harassing people who do not want to be bothered I'm one that doesn't. This is a serious complaint.Business Response

When the representative came out they mentioned several times they came from the suburbs of ******* even though we had representatives in my area. Your commercial states you will receive a quote and can take your time to make a decision. Well that is a lie. They were high pressured, wanted an answer that day and pulled the “car salesmen trick of I have to call my manager to get you this price but won’t call if you won’t sign today”. I was intimidated, pressured and at times felt talked down to. I am a senior and a Clinical Therapist so I know when someone is being intimidating. I was told the price given was only for this one time and I could sign a contract today (strongly recommended several times), then cancel later. I explained I had several other projects I was getting quotes for so I needed to get these quotes prior to a final decision. That changed nothing in the hard sell, intimidating sales pitch. I again stated I needed to think about it and was told without a signed contract today the price quoted would not be available. I find this company to no longer be positive and feel it cannot be trusted in their pricing or quality of work provided. I will not recommend your company to anyone to include seniors and professional intelligent individuals. Very very disappointed as the guy in the commercials seemed so sincere.Business Response

I asked and called to delete me from there emails, I Unsubscribed from their emails several times and said it could take up to 30 to 45 days to Unsubscribe. That long is unacceptable, after I called to tell them to stop I feel they have indated me with more emails. All I want is for them to stop and take me off there list. 30 to 45 days to Unsubscribe isn't right, most businesses are 7 to 10 days. Please just get them to stop..Business Response

I had gutters installed on August 11 2025 from leaf filter the salesman told me that the gutters would not clog and if they do it states in the sales contract that they will refund 100% of the cost of installation I have had water leaking over and behind the gutters since they were installed. I called they sent someone out he said that there was definitely a problem but it was an easy fix. Last night it rained and I still have water leaking behind the gutters where it meets the house and water over the front of the gutter. I have tried to reach out for service but and not getting a call back. This was a big expense for me I am a handicapped senior who lives off my social security and was sold a system that has definitely issues it does not live up to what I was told and I feel I was scammed now I have a system that is not even a month old and it is leaking water. I am not able to climb a ladder and I bought this system to keep leaves and debris out of the gutters. I don’t know what to do I can’t get them to fix the problem and they are not honoring the purchase contract or warranty. I feel they should fix my gutter completely or give me a full refund total price was $8128.00. I did some research for their corporate office and found out there have been many class action suites one just settled in May 2025. I just want to get what I was promised I bought this system because I am a senior handicapped and can not clean my gutters. So when I found leaf filter I was impressed by what the salesman had told me the they were AAA rating with better business bureau if you could please help. I tried to contact the local office to get those supposed small adjustments but I get no response to have those minor adjustments. I have contacted the 800 number and spoke to a customer service rep in the service department 3 times requesting service and got no response to getting someone from the company out here to fix the water leaking behind the gutter where it meets the house. I tried all week because we are expecting a lot of rain and I am concerned that I will get damage from the water running behind the gutters. I also was given the local office number to try to schedule a repair and they do not return my calls to come out to repair so I don’t accept Leaf filters response to my complaint. Thank you for trying to get them to live up my warranty.

I tried to reach out to their service department yesterday afternoon 9/5 and the person I spoke to said she was sending a expedited email to the local office supervisor and that I would hear back by the end of the day. I never got a response which was not surprising since I have not been contacted from the past three attempts I made this past week. The company’s response is not acceptable because I signed a contract with a lifetime warranty on any issues with the gutters and it has not been a month of having them. They were installed on 8/11/25 when I called on Tuesday I explained to the person her took my info that water was running behind the gutter where it meets the house. If it continues to run behind the gutters it will do damage to my house. I knew we were expecting rain today 9/6/25 that is why I wanted it fixed that did not happen and the water is running behind the gutters. I really am not sure how to resolve this because I continue to reach out to their service department service department only to be told the same thing sorry for your trouble I promise you will receive a call back to get this fixed. I had the last person I spoke to send me a email detailing the email they said would be expedited which I did not get a reply back. If you have a way for me to provide that email let me know and I will send it. Hello I sent you copies of documents one of the warranty for my gutters and a screen shot of the email the customer service person on the phone she said she was sending an escalation email to the supervisor at the local office in Hagerstown and I would here from them by 6 pm on Friday. It is 9/8/25 Monday I reached out again to the service number and all they do is say they are sorry and they will send another email to the local office. I started reaching out to them all last week and all I get is sorry they will send a email requesting someone to come out to fix my gutters. I have allowed them plenty of time to honor the warranty & the contract I don’t feel my request is not warranted. According to the warranty small adjustments are covered so I can not understand why they will not honor the warranty and have someone come out. Can you please help. We had rain all day Saturday and water ran behind the gutter where it meets the house. If it continues it will damage my house and roof. Thank you.Business Response

Hello They did come out finally on 9/16 but it wasn’t till I told them I had contacted the Attorney General Office and that I was going to my district court to file a small claims case. It is crazy it took this long and such extreme measures to get this company to live up to the warranty they provide. This company prays on seniors and does not tell the potential customer all the things in regard to the warranty. Something I found out that is not in the warranty and I was never told about. Is if I ever get a new roof I must call leaf filter to come and remove the gutters and put them back up after the roof is installed for a fee of $1100 dollars if I let the roofing company remove them it voids the warranty. These are things they should tell the customer when selling them their system. I really believe that the better business bureau should really look into them they don’t deserve a top mark from you. There are many class action suits against them. I am curious why the BBB give the a A rating do you investigate a company after a complaint. I know my issue may seem small but the fact that I had to get the BBB assistance to resolve my problem that should not have required your assistance. I really hate to think that many seniors are being mislead and taken advantage of. I want to say thank you I appreciate all your help. I had the Leaf Filter system installed in the back of my house in February of 2024 when we had very little snow. The following winter when we had much more snow, I could not view the gutters until more than 1 year after the installation date. At that time I noticed that the joints between a few of the 4 ft. section had bowed upward. I called the local number 3 times and left a message and nobody called me back. I then called their national number and set up an appointment within a range of 4 hours on June 13, 2025. Nobody came nor called me to tell me that they would be late or would not be able to come that day. I was leaving on vacation and did not call back. A few weeks later I got a call that workers showed up at my residence and I was not home. I finally called and wet up an appointment for between 8A and 12P on August 19, 2025. I waited until after 1P after nobody came nor called again. I was told that they would send somebody out that afternoon, A single worker arrive around 3P, inspected the leaf filters, told me that they were installed incorrectly and that she would call me the next day to set up and appointment. Nobody called so I called and left a message via phone and email the next day. I received a call from somebody who told me that they would have somebody to my house between 8A and 10A on 8/22. Nobody came and nobody called. I just want the problem fixed and not have to pay to fix the problem if their product was not installed correctly.Business Response

The service that they were supposed to provide was "Clean all gutters and downspouts, Seal all gutters with 50yr silicone, realigh all gutters needed, install hidden brackets for reinforcement". This service was for the home and garage. The garage gutters could not be reinforced. The garage gutters were not sealed or realigned in any way. There were huge holes and the gutters were aligned to the rear of the garage and not to the front where the down spounts were. I asked for a refund for the work that was not performed to the garage and was denied.All further inquiries about the cost indicated that all others could have done the job for at least half the cost. I hired LeafFilter to install gutters at my home for $7,165.00, paid in full. Since installation, I have had repeated issues with workmanship and service.
The gutters were installed June 24, 2025. On July 9, 2025, they detached under normal rainfall. Nothing struck them to cause this. When I called, I was told there would be no extra cost. The company was scheduled for July 11 but did not show, causing me to miss work. They arrived July 14, made a repair, but charged $301.00 despite their earlier promise. Crew members also stated they “weren’t being paid to do that.”
On August 29, 2025, the gutters again detached under normal rainfall. A repair was scheduled for September 2, but the company failed to arrive during the promised window, again causing lost wages. They eventually showed up three hours late and, instead of correcting the work, attempted to charge $1,100.00 to fix issues caused by their own installation. Their written quote listed 72 units of gutters, though the damaged section is only about 36 feet. John ******* also told my husband to send this inflated quote to our insurance, raising concerns of possible fraud.
It should have been clear before installation that my fascia boards could not support the quoted gutter system. A proper inspection would have revealed the lack of screws in the boards, yet the company proceeded, leading directly to these failures.
This shows repeated failure to provide services as agreed, misrepresentation regarding costs, unsafe installation, attempts to collect more money for their mistakes, unprofessional conduct, and financial harm from missed work.
I am seeking correction of the defective work at no cost OR a full refund of $7,165.00 so I can hire a qualified contractor.
I have disputed the charge with my credit card company, but I am filing this complaint so other consumers are aware, and this matter can be addressed.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: LeafFilter stated that my contract was completed and that the damage to my fascia boards was caused by storms. This is not true.
The real cause of the damage is LeafFilter’s negligence and failure to inspect my fascia boards before installation. Because the fascia boards were not properly secured prior to gutter installation, the gutters and fascia boards could not withstand even normal rainfall conditions — not storms.
Furthermore, on July 14, 2025, when LeafFilter returned for the first repair, their representative told us that they would:
Repair the fascia damage, and
Ensure the rest of the fascia boards were securely fastened.
However, when it came time to actually perform the work, the crew stated that they were “not being paid to do that.” This directly contradicts what we were told and what we believed we were being quoted for. In fact, John ******* from LeafFilter specifically said that the quote included reinforcing the fascia boards.
This is unacceptable. Not only did LeafFilter’s negligence cause the gutters and fascia boards to fail, but they also misrepresented the scope of repairs and then attempted to charge us additional money for work they had already promised would be covered.
For these reasons, I maintain that LeafFilter has not completed the contract as agreed, has provided defective installation, and has misrepresented their services. I respectfully request that my complaint remain open and that I receive either:
Correction of the defective work at no additional cost, OR
A full refund of the $7,165.00 already paid.Customer Answer

He attempted to provide us with another quote, but when I reminded him that this work was included in the original quote, we were told the crew would be back soon to finish the rest of the house. I am rejecting this response because:
The assertion that the contract was completed and that the gutters were correctly secured to the pre-existing fascia is inaccurate and misleading. It is a fundamental responsibility of professional gutter installers to ensure that fascia boards are structurally sound prior to attaching gutters. Installing gutters onto compromised fascia boards without proper inspection or reinforcement constitutes negligence and falls below industry standards of care.
Furthermore, the original $301 quoted by ******** *******—of which I was agreeable to paying—included not only repairs to the existing damage but also reinforcement of the fascia boards around the entire house to prevent recurrence of this very issue. However, when the technicians arrived on-site, they stated multiple times that they “were not being paid to do that” and only installed the new gutters. The following day, ******** ******* attempted to provide a second quote for completing the remainder of the fascia reinforcement, despite previously confirming that the $301 covered that scope of work. When we reminded him that this work was already supposed to be included, he acknowledged that was correct and assured us the technicians would be back out. They never returned to complete the work. This demonstrates clear inconsistency, misrepresentation, and failure to honor the agreed-upon terms.
That reinforcement was never performed, meaning the contracted work was not completed as agreed. I discussed this matter directly with *** *****, who acknowledged that the omission was unacceptable and assured me that further communication would follow. To date, no such communication has been received.
It is unacceptable that this company continues to delay and fails to follow through in a timely manner. In fact, my attic space would still be exposed if I had not gone ahead and put the boards back up myself. If the fascia boards had been inspected and properly secured at the time of the first quote, before gutters were ever installed and even at the time of the first damage, we would not be dealing with continued damage today.
This company’s failure to perform the quoted and agreed-upon work in a timely and complete manner demonstrates both breach of contract and negligence, and I respectfully request that this matter be resolved without further delay.Initial Complaint

I had Leaf Filter installed in 2019 for two reasons, 1. It is supposed to prevent the gutters from getting clogged and protect your home and 2. The warranty. In 2021 we had noticed that our gutters in the front of the house were leaking and were clogged and I called Leaf Filter to have them come and fix the issue as I thought it was a warranty issue. They sent someone out and he worked on the gutters for a while and when he was done he said it was taken care of and that it was an installation issue but wanted to charge for the repairs. I didnt think this was right as the system comes with a warranty so I called Leaf Filter and after a long discussion they agreed there would be no charges. Now in 2025 it was raining and I look out the window and I noticed in the very same place water coming out of the gutter and running down the freshly painted facings and I again call Leaf Filter and tell them of the issue. Before I can get them to come out I have to agree to pay a service fee but I to the lady on the phone that I dont I should have to because it is in the very same place they had to fix last time and she said they would make that determination when they get to my home. When the young man got to my house I explained to him what was going on and what the history of the issue was. When he was done he explained that when they made the repairs last time they did not use enough caulking and there was a whole in it that was causing the issue and that he thinks he fixed it. The still charged me this time $103.74 and he really doesnt know if he fixed it. What kind of warranty is this.Business Response

April 29,25 ***** ******* gave us a very high quote, then a lower one if we sign right away. We did.
Told us they had 30+ crews that did Leaf filter specifically.
May 1, 25, One person came out to do the job. Never did Leaf filter before and really did a bad job. Took 4 days to complete.
June 2025, We started noticing that the wedges that were installed were all falling out and the one section of gutter no longer flowed but leaked.
July 21, 25, Called C/S 800#, spoke with *****, she scheduled an appointment to fix for Aug 12,25.
Aug 12th - Aug 18th, no one showed up and no one called. Many calls to C/S #. Spoke with ****, *****, ******** with no results they kept telling me someone would call back by end of next day. Finally got mad and **** from the **** ******* location called and scheduled a crew to come out Tuesday Aug 19. Two people came out led by ****. They repaired most of the gutter system but since the first person totally ruined the one section along the garage, it was no longer usable and needed to be replaced, and they stated that they would replace at their expense and that **** would call to schedule.
Aug 27, 25- As of this writing, I have called the C/S # and spoken to *******, ****** twice, *******, and ********* and each one tells me the same thing. "Someone will call you by end of day ***orrow". AND NO ONE DOES
It seems that they can warranty for life because no one calls you back. The phone number that **** used to call us that one time has a constant busy signal for the last 9 days. You can only talk to the C/S number and that doesn't do any good, at least so far.
My husband and I both have stage 4 cancer and undergoing chemo. We have limited days to schedule the remaining job to be completed. I need to have them come out and finish the job.

I am rejecting this response because: As of this writing, it is after the designated time and they have not come out to finish the job. ***** called last week and stated that the job would be completed 9/2. They did not show up. We got a call from *** who said that the job had not been scheduled for 9/2 after all and he was calling to schedule for 9/3 between noon and 4 pm. No one showed up. I sent a text to ***** who had originally gotten hold of us last week and he was not sure why they didn't do it on 9/2 like he scheduled it. And he couldn't get hold of any of his managers tonight to determine if they are still coming or not.
So, I am not satisfied yet. If they come tonight yet, that would be good. But with their track record I am not expecting them to.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.Yes, after much frustration the job was completed. Although I would not recommend this company to anyone who asked me what I thought about the job. The product may be very good, but the warranty on this is a joke. When it took almost 2 months to fix a problem, I don't believe that is acceptable.
