I contracted with Leaf Filter on June 2, 2025 to replace storm-damaged gutters and downspouts on my house; the work was scheduled for June 17, 2025. No one from Leaf Filter showed up on that or any date since. I called Leaf Filter's customer service line six times between June 18 and August 15 and was told each time that I would be called either the same day or "shortly" by someone in management, I received no response to any of these calls. I then sent them a letter on Aug 20, 2025 to which they also did not respond. I then sent a registered lettered to Mr. ***** *****, their CEO on Sept 17, 2025, he also did not respond.Business Response

Following a TV ad and AARP mag, I signed up with Leaffilter for the promise of inspection, repair, replace and realignment of my gutters with installation of no clog, never clean guard with lifetime, transferable guarantee. No respectable inspection occurred, since the subcontractor installer had no authorization to inspect or suggest anything but to execute the work order. However, my security camera system was severed by screws and had to be replaced. Furthermore, after the installation, the necessity to get 4 roofers that gave the assessment of the gutters being misaligned, in poor shape with too many leaders causing the guards to be warped and, just as the gutters, inefficient (ex: puckers and warping, trapped dirt and cake up). It also was discovered that the ads had different better guards, therefore a bait and switch (pictures available) occurred and confirmed once the guards were removed.
The cameras cost $3,701.75 to restore and replace (see receipt). The removal of Leaffilter guards and restoration of my old guards, which were removed from the property, cost $1,800 (see receipt). With these unplanned expenses I am unable to fix, repair, or replace my gutters, which was my original objective. Owner ****** ******* agreed to cancel the contract upon return of their guards which can be picked up at the time of reimbursement of $3,701.75 + $1,800 = $5,501.75. However, the parent company is interfering with the agreed upon resolution.Business Response

Leaf Filter installed system on 8/20/25. Customer called for service on 8/26/25. Customer also stopped payments on all checks. Customer stated he wanted only Leaf Filter employees to inspect and service. Leaf Swat team was deployed and customer refused service on 9/4/25. Customer request for credit/removal is unwarranted. Leaf Filter does not have franchises.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
Leaffilter system was installed by a non-fluent in English gardener subcontractor . No service call on 8/26/25 but a complaint call for failure to deliver promised installation. Checks were stopped because who is going to argue with a non-English speaking Hispanic gardener? Leaffilter doesn’t have employees but subcontractors.
A SWAT team? Using that term SWAT represents the nature of this company: very intimidating and threatening; since we were yelled at already on the phone. SWAT implies “breach and forcible entry: let’s scare the old people, which they’ve tried numerous ways already.” The pseudo SWAT team consisted of a second subcontractor, confirmed by their gardener shirt logos and themselves and a “licensed inspector” who could not produce said license. What was the objective - get rid of evidence, break what, recover what?
No mention of damaged camera systems.
No mention of the guards that were removed from the property.
We stepped in it! No internet, no African prince needed to fall for this scam. Leaffilter is not a legitimate business but a scam, playing on the fears of the elderly (which we are) - no honor, integrity, or character here.
****** ******* did impersonate the owner of a franchise! Add this lie to the list. Let’s not forget the stress of dealing with these predators.
Pay $3701.75 and $1,800 and come get your second-rate merchandise which is different than in your ads.Initial Complaint

I had a new roof installed on April 29, 2025 and the roofing company damaged my LeafFilter system and voided the warranty. I contacted the local LeafFilter office in Eden Prairie, MN about repairs and received a quote to repair and reinstate my warranty. The roofing company agreed to pay for the repairs. I notified LeafFilter and we agreed that I would contact them to schedule the repairs when I received the payment from the roofing company. On September 6, 2025 I sent an email to LeafFilter notifying them that I had received the payment and wanted to schedule the repairs. I received no response. I sent multiple emails, text messages, and left voice messages and still no response. I call the national LeafFilter number and was told that the local office would contact me. Still no response. I've since call the national number multiple times, was told customer service would refer my issue to management. Still no response. Called the national number numerous times again, requesting that a manager contact me. Still no response as of October 6, 2025. I would like to get the repairs to my LeafFilter system done and my warranty reinstated. Any help getting a response would be appreciated. Thank you.Business Response

My Leaf Filter system was installed on 7 August. Since we have had a loud creak of the section right outside our window of our bedroom when is is windy making if difficult to sleep. We had an appointment to get it fixed on 12 September but nobody came out to fix it. The issue persists and now they are saying we can't get service until 24 October. This is ridiculous and counter to their adds of quick warranty service on any issue. We just want this fixed ASAP.Business Response

On 7/15/25, I signed a contract with LeafFilter and gave them a down payment. I could cancel within 3 days. I cancelled the next day using their form. Despite the quick cancellation, my check was still cashed. The form indicated that I would receive the refund of my down payment within 10 business days. I received an email confirming they received the cancellation, but it indicated it would take 4-6 weeks to get my refund. I still haven't received the refund. I have made several calls to customer service. They take all my information and tell me they will send a message to the office that handles these issues and they will contact me. I have not received a call back from the office.Business Response

I had this product installed just over 2 years ago.Within 6-8 months I noticed an issue with rain water coming behind the gutters, in between the gutters and facia.I sent an email and never got a reply, which was within their “one year” workmanship warranty.A couple months later was reminded of the issue during a moderate rain and then called, scheduled an appointment and they finally came out after having to call back and reschedule due to the tech never showing up and a manager lying to me saying he called at a certain time, which my phone records say different. Once the tech came out he said everything was fine.Wasn’t here 10 minutes then left, after me explaining to him and everyone I talked to and sent photos/videos of the issue that it wasn’t a installation problem but it was a product problem.I had another tech come back a few months ago to document a section of my gutters falling down due to the water coming behind them and rotting out the facia board. He said there was nothing he could do and his manager would call me the next day. After two weeks of no word I had to call again, call center forwarded it to Local and I finally received a call. And his solution was they could come and give me an estimate for them to repair it,I declined as their product is what caused the damage.I contacted a lawyer and was advised to get an estimate from them.
A few weeks ago I got the sales guys here to give me a quote, simply because service seems like they don’t want to stand behind their product. They gave me a quote and said that if it was up to them they would repair it for free but per the company they would have to charge me.They were not happy with how the product looked and how it was functioning on my house and said it was the worse they’d seen.I have all the emails that I’ve sent and multiple videos/photos of the damaged gutter/facia and rain pouring from the back side of the gutters.they claim they have a lifetime warranty, but don’t want to honor it.photos won’t U/LBusiness Response

Installation was completed on 8/1/23. Leaf Filter installed filters on customer's pre-existing guttering. Customer 1st called for service on 8/12/24. Inspection found system was installed correctly and was working as intended. Customer issues were leaking behind the gutters due lack of drip edge. Drip edge is a roofing component and beyond the contract with Leaf Filter. Customer called for service on 7/19/25 stating their pre-existing gutters fell off their home during a storm. This is beyond the warranty with our filters. We consider this matter closed as beyond the contract and warranty.Customer Answer
Date: 10/08/2025
I am rejecting this response because:
They were installed on existing gutters, yes. And you’re statement about not having a drip edge is just an excuse for a bad product. If the drip edge was the issue, water would have been coming behind the gutter prior to the lead filter being installed. And first contact was made on 5-27-24 and I never got a reply from the email I sent I then followed up on the date you said, that’s when I finally got a response.the salesmen that came out and gave me a quote to replace them even said the way they look is not normal and they weren’t particularly happy with how they were performing.

In June 2025 we purchased Leaf filter gutters for our home. They came and installed the gutters quickly. During the first rain we noticed the leaks were worse than before installation. I emailed them on the customer service site, but received no reply. My husband called them and Leaf filter came back out to evaluate and stated that we needed a back drip b/c when they tilted the gutters to promote down flow, it lowered it below the shingles on that side of the house causing the fascia to become saturated due to backsplash of rain and this would fix that problem. This was NOT included in the $5000.00 we paid for the installation, which did nothing but exacerbate the problem on one side of the house. This should have been noted during installation and addressed at that time. Wondering how many more "uncovered" problems are going to come up? We are seniors trying to maintain our home and this was a big expense for us. Will not recommend this business ever.Business Response

Leaf filter installed product in 2021 with a lifetime warranty
The product holds debris on top still making me still have to clean gutter as I was doing this today 09-26-25 I notice one of the panels has fallen into the gutter. When I called about repairing it under the lifetime warranty I was told it would be 95 dollars just for the tech to come look at it then he would discuss with me if it was covered or not
A faulty product should not cost me 95 dollars to send someone to look at it.
I am asking for them to come and fix it under the warranty with no additional cost from me
Thank youBusiness Response

I am rejecting this response because:
I do not require further contactI just want it to be known that sales practice is not honest since they only tell you that it is under warranty then charge you 95 dollars just to have someone look at it to see if it will fall under the warranty. Salesman said they will come out for any problem and fix it under warranty which is untrue
I will never purchase from this company again and will advise anyone looking for this kind of product to avoid leaf filter at all cost as they are not a reputable business.

I have been contacted by this company well over 50 times within the last week. For a product I have never wanted nor signed up for, they have relentlessly continued to call me even after I have asked them to stop calling me. This company is like cancer. You can't get rid of them. I have multiple recordings of phone calls, where I have specifically asked them to put me on the do not call list and they still continue to call me 10 plus times a day. They know what they are doing, because they call from different numbers all the time, so I can't just simply block them. At this point, I'm considering it harassment. And if it does not stop legal action will be taken. You would think after 50 plus phone calls of hearing no, they would get the hint. If I wanted your product, I would have said yes, the first time. This type of business practice should be 100% Illegal, to just call and harass somebody trying to sell them a product that they don't want in the hopes that they'll just say yes to finally get y'all off our backs. I use my phone for business. But between all the phone calls, I can't run my business. This company is costing me money by constantly harassing me and calling me 24/7Business Response
