Epcon installed my solid core doors, including a glass door and exterior doors with half inch screws. My doors are falling off their hinges and their response is to replace a few of them with longer screws and told me that what they installed was adequate. I am left to wonder where else they used half inch screws. Epcon has a solid reputation but our experience was the complete opposite. I could go on and on with what we witnessed and have been subjected to thus far including harassment.

The screws in question are installed by the manufacturer of the pre-hung door and are standard practice across the industry. In situations where the screw loosens, albeit from use, removal of the door for painting etc., best practice is to add a longer screw to allow for a secure attachment through the jamb and into the framing member. This proven method resecures the door and allows for proper operation. As the Builder, we do not dictate the size of screw manufacturers or distributors use. They follow industry standards.

This homeowner closed on his home in March 2016. The community he resides in has been completed and Epcon Communities is no longer involved. The homeowner recently voiced these concerns so Epcon associates met with him to make sure his concerns were heard. They confirmed that all items were previously addressed or no longer pertinent (such as the handling of board meetings in 2016). Any current concerns should be directed to the ***************** and the **************************** neither of which is Epcon Communities involved.

Advertised luxury homes. Actually builder grade track home. Fenced us out of some of our property and gave to neighbor for personal use. Not easy to work with. Buyer beware of what you see and what you sign! Epcon Community **** **.

Epcon Communities is a single-family home builder with a unique side courtyard product. Through the Association Declaration, which is provided to all buyers at time of contract, side courtyard easements exist to allow extension of the courtyard space over the neighboring property, creating a more robust usable space for our residents. While special access is granted for the benefited homeowner with the side courtyard to utilize a portion of the neighboring property, the neighboring homeowner always retains ownership of the property and has unlimited access for any repair, maintenance, etc. This homeowner first reached out to Epcon with questions regarding access to their side yard space, located within the neighbors courtyard easement area, in March 2021. An in-person meeting was scheduled promptly and held March 25, 2021, where the courtyard easement, use, and access were explained in detail. After assessing the homeowners questions and concerns, Epcon agreed to revise the courtyard fence configuration and add screening to better align with the homeowners property access preferences. Multiple follow-up communications were held with the homeowner, in person and via email, to ensure the fence revisions and landscape plans met expectations, prior to completion of the work in August 2021. After the numerous communications and completion of the requested modifications, it was our belief that the homeowners concerns were fully addressed. We are therefore sorry to hear that we were unable to meet their expectations in this regard.
