I had an initial repair done in March 2025 that failed in July. Safelite offered to reimburse me for that failed repair in the amount of $206.92, as I ended up needing a whole new windshield. I opted to have my insurance pay for that repair as it is included in my policy. After multiple calls and emails and escalations I cannot get anyone to tell me when my reimbursement will be coming back to me. They said it can't be electronically reimbursed because it was too long ago. They said it would most likely come in the form of a check in a few weeks. It has been since July and no check and no answers as to when I will see it. Every time I have called or emailed, no one responds or they say they don't have any answers. Local Safelite office that did the repair says they have no control over reimbursements. Escalated to their distric manager office and still nothing.

So disappointed with this safelight. We took our Mercedes Sprinter van to fix a windshield and they disabled our rear camera. We asked them about it, and they denied the claim. We are now having to take it to the REMOVEDdealership in REMOVED. Safelight should have told us that their handling our vehicle may disable some of the components. We had to take the vehicle to Audo Express to install a new camera, because it is too large to drive without a rear camera. we are asking them to reimburse us for those expenses. This company is incompetent and did not want to admit that they could not provide us with a resolution or an explanation as to how they disabled the camera.

On 18 October 2025, I REMOVEDhad my rear window repaired by Safelite AutoGlass, REMOVED. (REMOVED) During the repair service the technician informed me (REMOVED) that he had closed the rear hatch to which he had replace the window in. He stated that he closed the hatch and it had jammed shut and would not reopen, He stated that loose pieces of glass had lodged in the latch and wouldnt allow it to reopen. He stated that he was unable to complete the assembly of some of the door parts, including the rear spoiler. He stated that he contacted his supervisor. He state the supervisor stated for me to take the vehicle the repair shop to get the hatch open and finish the assembly, and Safelite would reimburse me. I took it to REMOVEDthe next day to be repaired. It had rained between the tie Safelite finished and the REMOVEDdealer got to the repair. Since the spoiler was improperly installed, water had entered into the electric latch. The dealer stated the latch and harness needed replaced due to the water and glass in the latch assembly. The cost of the repair was $1,250.11. I am asking for reimbursement. I contacted Safelite about this on 30 October 2025, and was told that the manager needed a day to speak with the Quality manager to settle the issue. He would call me back on 31 October 2025 by noon. I have not yet heard back. I have the paid receipt from REMOVEDwith photos of the missing mounting screws on the spoiler if needed. My contact info is REMOVEDor REMOVEDis my fianc. She owns the vehicle. I (REMOVED) paid for the REMOVEDrepairs. I was at all Safelite repair appointments with the vehicle and was the contact person each time.

Hello,
After speaking with the field management team they have advised "Tech went out the first time and was not able to remove the bolts due to rust so we had the customer go to a body shop to have them removed. When the customer came back in everything was removed from the vehicle, but the tech wasnt able to put the spoiler back on fully, with the latch being not operable and informed the customer to go back to the body shop to have them looked at as its not something we can do. Glass being in latches are not something we can fix and always refer a customer to the body shop when this happens."
When glass got into the latch and stopped its ability to function properly it becomes part of the original claim. No one can control how or where glass gets into or the resulting damage it can have. Because the latch was not functioning properly due to the glass it may require the claim to change from glass only to a comprehensive claim. The Latch mechanisms/electronics and any other damage need to be reported to your insurance and will become part of the claim.
Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Weve been going back and forth over this repair since I had the original work done July REMOVED. It was approved by REMOVEDon September 15, 2025, that they would pay for to repair/replace my windshield, surrounding panels, and wiper blades at Cabe REMOVED. I got my quote over to them, and been waiting since September to get my truck repaired at REMOVED, REMOVED. Why am I waiting so long? Its the guy, REMOVED, from the original shop. He is the hold up. He has been intentionally stagnant, so I imagine you can help me. What are we missing? Any action, including payment to REMOVED. I have an appointment on Tuesday, December 9, 225, 1 pm. REMOVEDexpects payment on file at this time, and Safelite, specifically this REMOVEDperson is the hold up, I believe. (After months of communication, REMOVED, he is my hero!! He is lovely, and not the problem.!!)

The business SPECIFICALLY advertises mobile service to my area. I went through the application process just to get to a block that won't allow me to schedule an appointment. I contacted customer service to be sure about this false advertising, which was confirmed. They will NOT honor the advertisement. If they aren't going to do what they advertise they shouldn't be wasting people's time
Business Response
Date: 12/08/2025
Hello,
I am so sorry we are unable to perform a mobile service for your vehicle! We apologize for the inconvenience. Mobile scheduling is an option; however, it is based on the vehicle specifications and ADAS features to determine whether that schedule option is available. Static recalibration is an in-shop process for recalibrating a vehicle's REMOVED(ADAS) after a windshield replacement, requiring a controlled indoor environment, specialized target boards, lasers, and precise alignment to reset the forward-facing camera to factory specs, unlike dynamic recalibration which is less specialized in nature. It's a crucial step to ensure safety features like automatic emergency braking and lane-keep assist function correctly, often taking an extra hour after glass replacement. Certain vehicles require an in-shop appointment to ensure we can perform this specialized recalibration correctly. Unfortunately, if a vehicle requires this Static recalibration, we are unable to come to your location for the replacement. We do have weekday and Saturday appointments available in-shop for your convenience if you would like to schedule this service. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you so much!

I am rejecting this response because:Everything you said is a complete poor excuse. I don't HAVE automatic braking, NOR lane assist or any of that nonsense you named. Apex auto glass came and finished the job in 40 minutes. Easy peezy. Next day, no delay. No problems Whatsoever. So on top of false advertising you apparently blatantly Lie. Seems like there is a pattern. To satisfy this complaint I would like to see that advertisement changed to how you REALLY do business. That needs to be changed because it's not true apparently.

A short while I had your Company Safelite,REMOVED,REMOVEDlocation,05701 replace my windshield on my 2012 REMOVEDEscape,Limited this was a very expensive Windshield, was put on my Insurance,Through REMOVEDShortly after I noticed air leaks around whole windshield after It was installed by Safelite. I did call several times after installation I was told by a Technician the window should not have air leaks around Window. I left several messages at this location,I did not get any response. This did not happen with the Window that was replaced prior to the new one installed by Safelite. Now that Winter is here my inside windshield get all freezer up causing a dangerous situation, and causing huge delays waiting for it to be thawed out by car defrosted. This is obviously not installed correctly as this should not happen. I have given up leaving messages at this location, and now I can not use my car due to this issue. I hope the BBB will contact Safelite and they will correct this.I have always used Porland Glass out of REMOVED,VT they did several windshields for me in the past, never had a issue like this, they were backed up,so my insurance carrier suggested,Safelite,Rutland and this was the results. I took my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee in on October 21, 2025 at 9:30am to have them look at a blemish on my front windshield. The worker came out to look at the blemish and said yes we can fix that its really small and they could fix it were it is safe and not spread. The guy took in my vehicle to the work bay and after 30 seconds of him having it came into the waiting room shouting wind split window split. I asked him if thats my car he said yes your window split down the middle and not I need a whole front windshield. I asked if they were going to pay for that and he said they are not liable and to speak with the manager REMOVED. I did that and he was no help and referred me to corporate customer service that told me they cannot fix anything because I mentioned small claims court after they said they are no liable. I did not sign anything authorizing the work nor ok with them breaking my windshield. I want to be reimbursed for the new windshield I had to purchase from another shop

Thank you for contacting our REMOVEDso sorry that the repair on your vehicle has failed. While we do have a very high success rate with our repairs, there is no way to determine how the already damaged glass will react to the repair process. The outcome of a repair is affected by many factors, including but not limited to:
-The age of the damage
- The size and location of the damage on the windshield
- Glass is a sensitive and unpredictable material
Our chip repairs are done to preserve the structural integrity of the glass and not for cosmetic purposes. The glass is considered compromised as soon as it is impacted and damaged by a foreign object. Glass is an incredibly complex material and when damage occurs it can cause microfractures that no one can detect. We do our best to bring structural integrity back to the glass by filling it with a high strength bonding agent. In this very straight forward process any potential microfractures can expand and cause the already damaged area to spread further, this tells us the glass is not repairable and requires replacement. . For a quote and to schedule a replacement, please go to www.mysafelite.com.Or please feel free to contact us at REMOVED.
We state specifically on our website the below in regards to failed repairs.
" Our nationwide lifetime warranty covers the repaired portion of the windshield against continued cracking, and warrants that the repair will pass any state vehicle inspection.
If more damage from the point of repair does occur, or if you are dissatisfied with the repair for any reason, we will credit the cost of your repair toward a replacement performed by Safelite.
If your insurance company paid for the repair, the insurance company may receive credit and you may still be responsible for any deductible if you choose to replace the windshield. This warranty applies for as long as you own or lease the vehicle and is not transferable. No other warranty, neither express nor implied, applies.
DISCLAIMER
In some cases, through no fault of the repair technician, during the repair process the damaged area may become larger and require a windshield replacement. These instances are not covered by the warranty and Safelite is not responsible for the cost of the windshield replacement or any additional damage. "If you are seeking information about taking Legal action you would need to send an email to REMOVED

I am rejecting this response because: safelite broke my whole windshield and made me buy a whole new windshield trying to fix a small blemish. This was done on purpose to get more money I feel. If I was told the blemish could get worse I would not have had them try and fill it. They should be liable as I never agreed to anything in writing. My next step is small claims court if we cannot settle on this site

In addition to the website that lists all disclaimers available prior to service. I have spoken with the REMOVEDteam. The windshield cracked out on repair. The customer insisted that we did it on purpose and that we would be buying him a new windshield. I explained again what our policy. I contacted Safelite to come to my home to fix a very small chip in my front windshield of my 2024 REMOVEDPathfinder order #REMOVED-861970 scheduled for between 12:00pm - 5pm on 11/21/25. The tech that came out was name REMOVEDand he could not find the chip because it was very small. I asked him if he was sure he could fix it, he replied no problem and should only take REMOVEDminutes. When I came back out my house to provide him a drink, I noticed that he had cracked the windshield and I began to question him of how the heck he broke my windshield. Would the crack travel and he replied no that he had put the glue in where he drilled and he promised it would not. I provided him my credit card for payment and asked him again if what he did would become worse. He stated no again. I woke up the next morning to my windshield being broken from the bottom inside where the rubber is under the hood to it going up and to the left on my windshield. I contacted customer service and spoke with REMOVED. She tried to contact the location, but it was not open yet so she provided me the phone number to call to speak to a manager. I called and spoke with REMOVEDwho stated that they are only responsible for returning the money I paid $173.64 and they are not responsible for any damages their techs make. I became very upset and requested for a manager to contact me because the tech broke my windshield and should be responsible for the damages. This is not right at all and I should not now be responsible for paying $1000 out of my pocket for what their technician did. She nevery credited my credit card back, so on Monday I went to Safelite in REMOVEDoff of REMOVEDto show them the damage that the technician did. They looked at the damage and took pictures as well as told me their manager was gone for the day, but will have him contact me. I have made multiple calls and still no resolvement to their tech breaking my windshield. This is wrong how I have been treated by this company.

Dear REMOVED,
I am very sorry to hear about the inconvenience. When we attempt to perform a repair, we're already working with damaged glass when there is a chip or crack present. Unfortunately, if it does not hold, we're not responsible. The technicians provide the disclosure on their phone for you to read over at the time of service. If you agree to the terms and sign it, that gives our technicians the right to do the work, and at that point, you accept any risks. You did sign the repair disclosure, acknowledging you were made aware, so I will attach it for your records.
You have a warranty for the installation of a new windshield. A chip repair comes with a money-back guarantee. The guarantee states that we refund the paying party, which is your insurance company, and from there, you're responsible for your deductible. It applies the same if you were in an auto accident; your deductible would apply if you have one.
If we could attempt to repair it again, we would, but we know the outcome is not favorable for the customer. Once the repaired area seals, we're not supposed to refill it again because it will crack further. That is why we advise that you have it replaced if you choose to do so.

I am rejecting this response because:The technician never showed me anything and I never signed any document that provided me this information. This is a tactic for this company to force a customer to have to purchase a new windshield. The technician obviously did not know what he was doing to break my windshield and now you do not want to accept responsibility as a reputable company is down right wrong, unethical and dishonest. A very unnoticeable chip should not have been made a humongous Crack up and down my windshield.
Safelite needs to do the right thing and fix my windshield by placing a new one in. Atleast cover 80% of the cost of a new windshield. Your first priority should be to make your customers happy and return customers. Lastly, the only thing I did provide is my credit card to pay nothing else, so please do not falsely place information about me on this complaint that is not true.

Hello REMOVED,
We are very sorry to hear about the inconvenience. The outcome of a repair is affected by many factors, including but not limited to:

- Glass is a sensitive and unpredictable material
Our chip repairs are done to preserve the structural integrity of the glass and not for cosmetic purposes. Safelite offers lifetime warranty on windsheild. With broad list of excuses why they are not liable..my 2013 camry had front windsheild replaced sept.2024...insurance claim..november 26 last day i drove vehicle parked for until 11/30/25. When about to use vehicle seen a foot crack at bottom of windsheild ..exited vehicle drove my truck to run errand ..and contacted safelite in regards to the warranty...bussiness in this complaint will not uphold warranty....trying to tell me caused by impact..i do not agree ..i say caused by product failure and temperature change ( stress crack) safelite tech trying to tell me crack goes from vertical then change direction to horiziontal is an impact point....CAR WAS PARKED FOR SEVERAL DAYS... no hazards or possibilities. To cause damage....manager at safelite says ..BUT YOU HAD THE WINDOW INSTALLED A YEAR AGO! THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT...LIFETIME WARRANTY ? MANAGER SAYS. YOU COULD HAVE STONE CHIP FROM MONTHS AGO ...AND IT JUST NOW CRACKED ANY AND EVERY EXCUSE TO NOT STAND BEHIND A WARRANTY....CAR WAS PARKED. BUT WINDOWSHEILD JUST CRACKED....I HAVE WORKED IN AUTOBODY REPAIR FOR COLLISION...THIS IS FROM FAULTY GLASS..COULD HAVE HAD DAMAGE ON EDGE OF GLASS FROM SHIPPING OR STORAGE OR EVEN INSTALL..

BBB Business Profiles are provided solely to assist you in exercising your own best judgment. BBB asks third parties who publish complaints, reviews and/or responses on this website to affirm that the information provided is accurate. However, BBB does not verify the accuracy of information provided by third parties, and does not guarantee the accuracy of any information in Business Profiles.
When considering complaint information, please take into account the company's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.
BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period, except for customer reviews. Customer reviews posted prior to July 5, 2024, will no longer be published when they reach three years from their submission date. Customer reviews posted on/after July 5, 2024, will be published indefinitely unless otherwise voluntarily retracted by the user who submitted the content, or BBB no longer believes the review is authentic. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this company, please let them know that you checked their record with BBB.
As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
