Contracted with Budget Dumpster to provide roll of container for waste disposal in mid-October of 2024. I prepaid expense with credit card. The dumpster was delivered, filled, and disposed of properly. I did not hear anything from Budget until mid-January of 2025, then I received a notice from Budget requesting additional funding. Budget has not been timely on their requests.

I am requesting Budget drop the overage charges for the dumpster rental and their threat of collections.

      Business Response

Although this charge was within the standard 120 day billing window, we are sympathetic to the customer's frustration. We are glad to hear all other aspects of the rental were properly completed. In an effort to rectify this negative experience, our team has been in contact with the customer and will make sure this is resolved to avoid the threat of collections.

This is the 2nd time they charged me overage. The first time I caved- but this time- I had my dumpster on 60% full, and at least half was empty boxes and they claim it was over by 940 lbs..... That I threw 2940 pounds in there. It was very light garbage that I could throw in there.... The dumpster was 6 feet high and we couldn't open the gate. I had a single garage full of empty boxes that we didn't have time to break down- so we just threw them in there.... So how could we have that much weight of half full garbage bags and empty boxes!!!!!

      Business Response

      Date: 03/05/2025

We are very sorry to hear that this charge negatively affected the customer's experience and our team has worked to rectify their experience. We truly do appreciate their repeat use of our service.

A general note on how tonnage is measured and billed: The dumpsters are weighed by a certified weighmaster in a state regulated process. While the dumpster may not have been visually overfilled, the compounding weight of specific materials may contribute to a heavy tonnage. In these instances, we rely on the official weight slips from the landfill to document and bill the final weight. We can confirm that everything was carried out in accordance with the standard regulations and processes for this customer's disposal.

I rented a dumpster from budget dumpster rental. It seemed impossible to coordinate the delivery they would not give exact date and time. I have a slopped driveway and the work being done to my house is in the front. I asked that the dump be delivered to the top of the driveway so that the work men don’t have to walk to the back to throw things away. I asked them to just leave space for one car. They did the exact opposite. The dump was place in the back yard very end of the driveway. The workmen would not initially put anything in the dump because it was not empty when it arrived. It had a lot of concrete in the bottom. Concrete is one of the materials they don’t take and is the stuff is heavy. I reached out to the company but of course it was the weekend so this delayed the response. They said they would not charge me for overages. Now when it’s time for pick up I scheduled 2/12 in advance. They did not give a time. But there was a snow storm the night before and more snow predicted the next day. They are charging me $150 for the failed attempt to remove the dump which they claim they could not do because of snow and ice.
I can’t control the weather just like they can’t give specific delivery times. I wish I had never rented from them because they are not reasonable. This is New England in the winter.

We appreciate this customer's feedback and would like to assist as best as possible. We do our best to advise on the delivery time of the dumpster, and apologize this was not more clear for the customer. Our team proactively provided a $75 credit when hearing about the concrete in the dumpster. We are sorry to hear the customer was not satisfied with that resolution. As the customer described, there was inclimate weather that impacted the service. This makes logistics very difficult for both the customer and our driver to coordinate a successful removal. The fee in question is an automated charge to cover the cost of labor and resources used during the removal attempt. We will refund it as a courtesy due to the unforeseen circumstances. We hope this small gesture helps this customer regain their trust in our organization.

I ordered a 10 yard dumpster from Budget Dumpster in the amount of $383.00 from 1/21/2025 to 1/23/2025. I threw the following contents into the dumpster when it arrived, a cut apart 36" x 36" shower surround, a plexiglass door, a small wooden pallet, a small amount of construction debris, and multiple empty cardboard boxes. The total weight of the material thrown away was no where close to over 500 lbs let alone over the 1 ton weight limit that was apart of the 10 yard dumpster order. After the dumpster was picked up on the 23rd of January, I received an overage charge of $64.60 on 1/31/2025 stating the weight of the dumpster was allegedly 1.76 tons. I contacted the company on 2/1/2025 to dispute the charge and ask for a refund. They stated they would send over a copy of the weight certificate on 2/3/2025 and would not process a refund. On 2/6/2025 I still did not receive any communication from the company so I called again and asked to be called back. I did not receive a call back and call again the same day. They stated they did not have the weight certificate yet and would call back when they received it. I tried to inform them that the weight was incorrect and informed them of the contents that were placed by me into the dumpster. All I want is the overage charge of 64.60 to be refunded as I know the weight they have is absolutely wrong. They refused to pass me to someone who could help and refund their mistake.

      Business Response

      Date: 02/19/2025

The dumpster was removed from the site then taken to the landfill for disposal. Please be assured that the dumpsters are weighed by a certified weighmaster, in a state regulated process independent of our company, and the overage reflects the final weight of your dumpster. While the dumpster may not have been overfilled, the disposal of many lightweight items may still result in a heavy final weight. Our team was in contact with and provided the customer the weight ticket as soon as our dispatch provided it. Weight tickets serve as the official document associated with the weight of the materials; the charge remains valid.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

This company has lied in their response and has not provided me with any weight certificate information. They continue to not reach out to me and appear to be acting in a shady business practice. I know for a fact that I did not have over 1 ton of weight in their dumpster when it was removed from my property at the time. All that was thrown into the dumpster was listed in my previous response and the total weight of those items does not come close to 1 ton of weight. All I want is for the overage charge to be refunded.

They offer an enticing price, then offer to upgrade you to a larger bin, but don't mention that the weight limit will be the same as the smaller bin. Then after your rental, charge you an additional amount for being over the weight limit which is almost as much as the original rental, so almost double the original price. This is really predatory behavior. I declined the larger bin and they brought it anyway. I filled it less than half way with household items. There was no way it was over the weight limit and especially by the amount they said. They sent a weight invoice from a different bin and when I pointed it out, they said I was wrong and if I didn't pay they would put a lien on my home.

      Business Response

We apologize that this charge was unexpected. As detailed in the service agreement, the dumpster had a weight limit of 1 ton, and this additional charge reflects the final weight of the container. While our team has verified the weight of the dumpster with our dispatch, we have elected to issue a refund of the overage as a measure of customer service and ensure that no threats were made to the customer regarding this charge.

I rented a 10-yard dumpster from Budget Dumpster, which was advertised on their website with a 3-ton weight limit in early November. I also called their customer service to confirm this information, and they assured me that the 3-ton limit applied.

I was initially charged $380 for the rental. However, a month later, I was unexpectedly charged an additional $231.80. I also received an email stating that my dumpster, which was supposed to have a 3-ton weight limit as advertised and confirmed, exceeded a 1-ton weight limit.

I reached out to the customer service to address these discrepancies, providing a copy of your website description of the 10-yard dumpster with the 3-ton weight limit as evidence. Unfortunately, I did not receive any response. To my further surprise, your website was later updated, changing the weight limit from 3 tons to 1 ton.

This charge is misleading, unfair, and inconsistent with the terms under which I contracted your services. I request a full review of this situation and a prompt refund of the additional charge of $231.80.

      Business Response

      Date: 12/18/2024

We are sympathetic to this customer's concern and will be issuing a refund for the $231.80 fee. To be clear, the resource guides on our website do not guarantee a certain tonnage for dumpster rentals. That is made apparent on these guides - as they list 'typical' ranges. The details discussed with our sales representatives or selected through our E-Commerce experience do determine the price, size and weight limit allowed to each customer. This varies based on available inventory and project type. A 1 ton weight limit was discussed with this customer on the phone and also provided on the customer's Order Agreement. At no point was a 3 ton weight limit discussed. We are refunding this fee as a genuine good faith measure.

I rented a dumpster to be delivered to my home 9/11/24 and paid $410.00. I received the dumpster, used it, and had it picked up. I thought all was fine. I used the dumpster to get rid of building materials for a bedroom, bathroom remodel. Drywall, flooring, wood, etc. I received my credit card bill this month and noticed a charge of $240.90 on 11/02/24 from Budget Dumpster. I called and they said that my dumpster was over weight and according to my rental agreement, I was responsible for the overweight fees. I have several problems with this.
      1. It was two months later that they charged me for the dumpster being overweight. They would have known it was overweight as soon as they dumped it.
      2. I can’t imagine that the dumpster was overweight from building materials. It wasn’t even full.
      3. At no time was I informed that the dumpster was overweight. I didn’t receive a phone call, letter, or email detailing the issue.
      4. I gave no authorization to charge my credit card. Especially, two months after the dumpster was picked up.
      5. They expect the customer to just take their word that a dumpster was overweight and I had to call them to get that information.
I think that Budget Dumpster operates in a very unprofessional and shady fashion.

      Business Response

      Date: 12/03/2024

We apologize that this charge was unexpected. As detailed in the service agreement, the dumpster had a weight limit of 1 ton, and this additional charge reflects the final weight of the container, which was 3.19 tons. We process additional charges as quickly as possible, however, we rely on the billing cycle of the landfill which can take several weeks. If an overage is confirmed, the card on file will be automatically billed. Our team has provided the weight ticket to the customer.

This business is running a scam or they are getting scammed by the landfill. The weighbill that they sent me is dated a week after they picked up the dumpster. I don’t believe the filled dumpster sat around for a week before getting emptied. Furthermore, there is nothing on the weighbill that proves it was the dumpster that I rented. No name, address, phone number, etc. It could be anyone’s weighbill. There have been other, similar complaints against this company. There is no way the dumpster I rented weighed over 6000 lbs.. It does not take two months to figure out a dumpster was overweight. They would have known as soon as it was emptied and not a week after it was picked up.

This customer placed an online order wherein he selected the dumpster weight limit and size. The terms of the weight were provided and agreed to at the time of order and reiterated in the service agreement. Our dispatch team confirmed that, due to being down a driver, it was dumped on 9/30. As previously stated, we rely on the billing cycle of the landfill which can take several weeks. Given that our team is not there to witness the contents disposed of in the dumpster, our team relies on the weight tickets provided to us by the landfill, ascertained in a state regulated weighing process. In this instance, it was 41 days and this is no longer than industry standard. As the dumpster was selected by the customer with the terms clearly stated, the overage remains valid.

On Monday I had reached out to Budget Dumpster through a chat on their website. I spoke to a salesperson named Adam. He gave me his direct number to call him. I set up to have a dumpster delivered the next day. He looked at my driveway from what I would imagine is Google maps. He told me I should be good to go. We have had other dumpsters in our driveway and all have fit.

Tuesday came and by 3:00pm we still did not have a dumpster. I reached out to the sales person and he said they were unable to deliver because their truck was too big and the dumpster wouldn’t fit. I was never texted, emailed or left a message. A supervisor contacted me and said that they could bring a 15 cubic feet dumpster and put it on our street. I declined. The money for the dumpster was adjusted but then they charged me $150 because they came out and couldn’t deliver. I was never notified. I was never asked if I wanted the 20 on the street. I have reached out both yesterday and today to get my money back. They have informed me that it is not policy to give back. I am asking for that money returned.

Rented a dumpster with 1 ton / 2000 lb weight limit for a 13 ft x 8 ft mobile home bathroom.

They are trying to charge me with 1.55 weighr overage.
There is NO WAY it was over 1 ton/2000 lbs. Let alone being 2.55 ton.
      Attached is their invoice
AND a picture of the contents of the dumpster and a list of its contents WITH estimated weights of said contents.
I responded to one of their emails with this picture and contents list with weight estimate.

I ordered a dumpster through Budget Dumpster LLC and experienced the worst customer service of my life. First off, they didn't even service me directly. They subcontracted ******+ to deliver and eventually pickup the dumpster I ordered through Budget Dumpster. Budget Dumpster essentially functioned like a drop shipper of dumpsters. If I would have known this up front, I would have gone directly to ******+ to begin with.

Anyways, the dumpster was delivered July 29th and two days later it was filled and ready for pickup on July 31st. I immediately contacted them for pickup and they said that they were running significantly behind and would eventually come get it. The dumpster was used to discard the leftover wood scraps from a new home construction. However, here is where the disaster started. Budget Dumpster refused to pick the dumpster up. ***** from Budget Dumpster said they were running behind and couldn't pick it up till after August 12, 2024.

Normally a dumpster sitting around wouldn't be a big problem for me. However, this was on a construction site sitting right where we were going to dig a septic field. I called Budget Dumpster begging for a pickup, but they refused. The septic contractor couldn't begin since the dumpster was sitting there, so he had to bump to a different project. This caused a scheduling nightmare and significantly delayed the entire project.

The pickup delay caused another problem, we got a massive amount of excess rainfall from Hurricane Debby during that delay. This soaked all the wood inside the dumpster. While I was irate that the company refused to pick up the dumpster, they responded me by charging significantly extra for the added water weight inside the dumpster. On their website, Budget Dumpster makes a big deal out of their "Flat-Rate Pricing." Eventually, they picked up the dumpster and also doubled the cost to me.

They didn’t follow their own terms of service and I find this unacceptable.
