I too would rate them a zero if that was an option. ******** ***** had us financed through them and the payments come out automatically so that wasn't the issue. We have paid about $20,000 on the solar panels and have a balance of a little over $25,000 left. March 4, 2023 my husband passed away. Now if that weren't enough I'm being pressured, almost threatened that I can pay them off or "assume" the loan meaning I would have to apply for a brand new loan. I'm 63 and I don't work. At first they wouldn't even tell me the balance since it was in his name. A payment was supposed to come out 3/24/23 but they stopped it because he's deceased even though he's still on the bank account. I'm told if I don't pay it in full within 60 days it will go to collection and they will turn off my solar panels! They need to be shut down!

KeyBank small business owners beware. Not completely keybank but the government as well. The government placed regulations where a small business or any business is responsible for any fraud within the account. Feel free to check CFPB or NACHA to verify. To a major corporation it might not sound like a big deal but to small businesses it is. In our postion we lost roughly $4k, as a small business owner that is about all we had. Worked and put the money back in the bank but still charged the fees by KeyBank Center ( I tag whatever is related to key). Originally was told 10 days to get the money back. Now being told 90 days. Meanwhile still having to pay the initial fraud back and keep going. For KeyBank to keep charging fees and no credit what so ever. A normal week is roughly $7k in revenue. @keybank maybe they should kick down that revenue lost the past 3 weeks. Fbi

KeyBank Mortgage Loan Servicing. With automatic bill payer set up to pay our home loan each month our escrow amount changes without us knowing. The loan payment goes up by $300 and yet we keep paying the original amount. Because we are now not sending the full amount the system does not apply the money sent to the home loan and just holds it, begins charging late fees, AND starts sending credit agencies notifications that we are delinquent in payment. The best part is when KeyBank files to foreclose and sends threatening letters . . . this is the first notification we received regarding this matter.
Calling the Keybank Mortgage Loan Servicing folks . . . we are told is is completely our fault . . . KeyBank did it all "by the book."
This is a 300k loan secured by a 2.3 million dollar house. As usual KeyBank is a total joke. Don't do business with this company if you can help it.

This company is the worst bank ever. I woke up to my card not working and can’t make any transactions. Oh yea and don’t try ***** it will not work. After today I will leave this company and deal with my original bank. Please don’t bank here unless you like every away money or getting embarrassed. If I could give no star I would because they don’t even deserve a half star.

If 0 zero was an option, it’d be 0. My significant other and I have had to travel from Georgia to Ohio, just to be able to verify identity and unlock the account they suspected fraudulent activity on but we were never contacted about this and this was never brought to our attention. We went 2 weeks back and fourth on the phone with customer service and of course the useless higher ups. Just for them to tell us “even though you have no money and no way to access your money, you still have to go out your way and state to find a branch and come in. We drove over 7 hours and even had to get a hotel because despite the paycheck being in there over 4 days it never ‘cleared’ mind you we’ve been paid from this company before via direct deposit for the last 10 months and it was always available the very next morning. We are on the verge of becoming homeless because of Key Bank. We have 3 children we are taking loans out to support all because we can’t get into our bank account and nor the branch or customer service will resolve this seriously. I will never recommend this company and I will go out of my way to explain my total disdain for this bank/investment group anytime someone asks.

Absolutely the worst on merchant processing account "fees" coming out of nowhere. Higher on account startup. Go elsewhere for credit card processing.

Woke up today to a banking nightmare. With no warning by phone or text or email, I was denied access to my online bank account at ****** Road. This is where my income funds are direct deposited on a daily basis. I was rudely told when I called that I would not have access for at least ten business days due to "Suspicious Activity." Every other bank and credit card I have had during my 61 years of life, has given me a courtesy call to explain any temporary hold, which is immediately lifted once I confirm whatever information is required. This is like a fascist government take over of an individual's right to their own property!! It is unbelievable. As soon as I have access again, I will remove my funds, close my account and never have anything to do with this awful bank again. Without a doubt, this is the worst banking experience of my life. Do not do business with Laurel Road Bank. They are dishonest and unprofessional and rude.

This place is racist! I (POC) tried to deposit $2000 cash along with other business checks to a business account. I was told I needed to show ID to deposit that kind of cash. The teller then proceeds to tell me that the government wants to know who is depositing that amount of cash and not to worry they (the bank) do not keep track. My partner (white male) deposited $2000 in cash with business checks and the same teller did not ask him for ID. What is the difference between him, and I KEY BANK?

In January 2022, I opened a checking account for miscellaneous expenses. I inquired to my representative if any minimum balance was required. She said no which enticed me to open the account and received a free checking account as a supplemental account since I paid the nominal amount to open it. I am just up the street and am self employed. I did miscellaneous deposits and utilized those funds. I also received statements informing me I had a zero balance. I deposit just the amount of funds that I need to utilize. The institution never sent me correspondence informing me I had to provide a deposit to keep it open. My company belongs to the chamber of Commerce. The average cost per event is $10-$25. I didn't order checks(don't need them). If I deposit $50 and attend 2 events, I'd utilize $50. Last I used the checking account was June. September comes around, I was going to do a deposit;so much for that. I called my branch, the teller said my account was closed. I said "the branch can't mail me a correspondence informing me to do a deposit if I want account to remain open"?! Really?! This is deceptive business practices! Don't bank here. The phone customer service representative "Knew more than my branch and said I had a Smartfree Checking which supposedly requires a minimum balance of $50. I said "oh. ok". My branch didn't tell me that. Then my savings account started incurring service charges for 2mos $4-$5 for 2mos. I called customer service, they credited me both months but this doesn't stop the institution from continuing to bill me. The branch said if I re-open a checking account it will end the service charge fees. I said "I don't trust their business practices nor their ethics". I said to the teller if I re-open a checking account, I need a 100% GUARANTEE MY ACCOUNT WONT BE CLOSED WITHOUT CORRESPONDENCE"! Otherwise, it's not worth re-opening.
