  After an increase in complaints received regarding predatory lending practices, the BBB began looking into consumer allegations against companies that advertise guaranteed loans regardless of credit history or collateral. One of these companies, PayDay for America, claimed to be operating in the Metro New York area. However, the mail was returned as undeliverable and the BBB found no record of registration of this company with the New York Department of State's Division of Corporations. Consumers have told the BBB that this company made false promises to arrange for a loan in return for fees paid upfront. Consumers reported that they were approved for loans from PayDay for America but then asked to “secure” the loan by paying additional fees. Consumers say they were instructed to transfer to the company via reloadable credit cards like Green Dot MoneyPak. According to the consumer complaints, none of them have received the money from the loan, or a refund of the advanced fees that were paid. It appears that both phone numbers and the website for this business are still active.
