I bought a tablet from this company and when the charging port went out I was told my account was deemed inactive because I have the internet through a different company. If I want to keep the tablet it will be $67.00 just to keep the tablet without the company's inter. When I asked for a refund of the tablet I was refused. All this information was not told to me when I made the purchase. In addition, this company came into the building I live in which is strictly for handicapped people, which I am one of and took money for the tablets from a bunch of handicapped people. This company is disgusting and very fraudulent.Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and decided after reviewing not only the BBB reviews of other persons who listed their experiences on BBB but also after my experience of utilizing their great looking phone; which did nothing but glitch, freeze and jump from the screen I was on to the main menu over and over again, that this was not the company I wanted to deal with. I went to Assurance wireless which I was trying to get their service till a vendor said I could qualify for this provider.
Sincerely,

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:Signed up for the "Govnt Cheese" phone system in May '22. As the agent I later found out to be greedy he (rightly so)charged $20 for the tablets but wanted to get money for the phones also which are supposed to be free. After finding out the phone has issues (along with the service) I contacted him at the Food Stamp/ social services bldg where he hangs out. He lied and said he will buy back the phone fm me for his son which he never wanted to do. Last time I contacted the BBB the rep stated I would get a check in the mail for the phone as I tried to get a refund. I would receive it in 10 to 20 days. That was June still have not seen any $$!

Today is May 16, 2023. I found out that someone had fraudulently signed up for an account using my information for Maxsip. Hence, I reached out to Maxsip and have explained the situation and advised that that I wanted to be "unenrolled" from their company. The customer service did not provide me any solution at all, instead wasted my time. I do not want any part of my information with them. Please unenroll me from your program and erase all of my personal information.Business Response

On March 25, 2023 I found that that someone fraudulently signed up for an account using my information. I reached out to Maxsip explained the situation and advised that that I wanted to be "unenrolled". After giving me the run around, they stated that I would receive a confirmation email within 2 business days. When asking for a confirmation for the call, they stated they were unable to provide it. I only managed to get the order/customer #: *******. It is now March 31, 2023 and I have yet to receive this confirmation. I find it suspicious that this account has been active since August 2022 and I have never received the "free tablet" or internet services they allegedly offer. I am not interested in doing business with this company and I am requesting that I be "unenrolled" immediately, and a confirmation letter be sent to my email.Business Response

I was told that I could get a discount on my internet through affordable connectivity program, and the website said I could get a tablet, I payed the fee for it and yet they never sent it out. I talked to a lady on the phone and they said the service I signed up for was cancelled so they won't send the device out... but the thing is, I never cancelled anything. I feel like they just took my money and ran. I want the tablet I paid for, I feel scammed.Business Response

SCAMMERS! My parents told me they stopped receiving the $30 ACP credit from *******. I called ******* and they told me that they were de-enrolled because they are receiving the credit from another provider. No freaking way. They told me to go to the National Verifier website and call ACP as only they can verify. I called and they told me that the application was created on 2/6/2023 with Maxsip. Never heard of them. I asked for any other information they can provide and they gave me the phone number ********** linked to that account, which is a fake number. It's also linked to an old address that my parents moved from 3 years ago. I called Maxsip and the moment someone picked up, I knew it was a scam. I asked them to close the account that we never created with a phone number that's fake with an address they no longer reside in. They said it was possible that my parents spoke to one of their street vendors and gave them their ID which had their old address on there. My parents live in a secluded area and never step out. On top of that, their ID has their current address since they moved so that's a lie. They told me they had to escalate this to a specialist to have the account canceled and someone should call me within **** minutes. 5 minutes later, someone calls me from **********. I picked up and it was another shady person. They told me it would take ***** hours for the cancellation to be complete. I asked for a cancellation confirmation and they gave me a fake email that they have on file which is ********************* They asked for another email and I felt uncomfortable giving them one. They said it's ok and it'll be canceled. I told them well because I have to call ACP to let them know to close the application, they said I don't need to call them (haha). I asked them how they open the account and hung up on me. I called back and gave them a new email I made just for them to send the letter. I demand compensation for the de-enrollment due to this scam they did.Business Response

I'm a low-income, disabled senior, AARP member, saw ad for "free" tablet for $20 fee in AARP magazine, went to website ****************** on 2/20/23. Filled out application for free tablet, paid $20 which MaxSip immediately took out of my online SS debit card account w/o providing written confirmation # or transaction receipt, just website acknowledgment "Thank you for your application." It is now 3/9/23. I have not received the tablet (supposed to arrive **** days). I've called MaxSip Telecom 6x, spoke to numerous customer service reps who only give shady bs excuses and runaround, failed to email receipt for the $20 pmt, or confirm in writing that MaxSip has shipped the tablet. After 5 calls, finally got a rep to come up w/*** tracking # but still no written email confirming $20 pmt or shipment. Checked w/*** indicating MaxSip only created a shipping label on 2/23/23 but *** has never received product for shipment, therefore *** can't provide a delivery date. MaxSip appears to be a shady operation that is taking money from vulnerable seniors without shipping paid-for product (tablet) advertised in AARP!Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and confirm that MaxSip Telecom did finally ship the tablet I paid for. This action occurred weeks late (supposed to take **** business days) and only after I called this business seven times to inquire about status and file a complaint with BBB-********. Despite numerous requests, I never received a written transaction confirmation from MaxSip for the money they took from my online account, nor a shipping notice. I truly wonder if MaxSip Telecom would ever have delivered my tablet if I hadn't contacted BBB-********. Thank you so much BBB-********!
Sincerely,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********. MaxSip Telecom acknowledged it made an error in sending me a used, defective malfunctioning tablet lacking a SIM card. *********** addressed its error by sending a brand-new replacement tablet with a functioning SIM card. This action resolves the problem of my not getting any tablet as promised within **** days caused by the company's sloppy and inattentive business practices with regards to implementing the government-paid *** program I saw advertised in AARP magazine. I never did receive any written acknowledgment or confirmation of MaxSip taking $20 fee from my Social Security debit card in exchange for the *** tablet.
Sincerely,
