Sir, I gave my 2001 ***** ******* for repairs on 10/31/2022 for repairs to Schenectady Auto at Niskayuna NY and the shop indicated it may take a few days. On 11/11/2022 I received a call from the shop that the car is ready and may be picked up and I reached the shop to pick up the car. When I asked if the inspection was done for the car the shop personnel indicated to me that they did not issue inspection sticker instead they have requested extension for another 10 days and only a few days are now left on the inspection since another unexpected repair popped up. When I asked what is the reason for refusal of inspection the shop personnel refused to give me logical answer and instead indicated that he is not issuing inspection sticker based on OBD II diagnostic reason but did not indicate what error code or issue is yet pending to be addressed in-spite of a repair bill of USD 1225/- approximately and 10+ days in the shop. The shop personnel stated that he fixed about 5 to 6 error codes when he repaired the car but did not provide documented/ written details about error codes fixed and yet in-spite of his claims of all the error codes being fixed and no more error codes currently on, on what basis he is refusing to issue inspection sticker in-spite of inspection requirement explicitly specified on the repair form. He advised me to take the vehicle away and drive it for and come back if the light comes back on but did not indicate what to do if the light does not come back on... Nor he indicated how many miles or how many days of driving/ operation of vehicle shall imply vehicle to be ready for inspection. Also when I finally gave in to the answer which I did not understand the shop personnel refused to accept my card as payment and asked for cash. I indicated my willingness to pay by debit card which was refused by shop personnel as well. There was no indication on 10/31/2022 cash being only accepted form of payment when dropped the car for repairs. ***** ******Business response

Response taken by phone: We did the authorized repairs. We cannot inspect the car until all the monitors are clear and the only way to clear the monitors is to drive the car. The car was inspected and he picked it up. I regret that he did not understand this process.
