    On November 17, 2025, Squarespace placed over $10,000 of our legally earned revenue on a reserve hold until March 2026. This occurred immediately and without warning, and they have:Provided no documented reason for the hold Denied our ability to refund our affected customer Stated there is no appeal availableRefused to give details on what triggered the reserve Declined to provide any path to resolve the issue Blocked access to funds needed for basic business operations This has caused significant financial harm to our Texas-based small business, which depends on timely payouts to operate.________________________________________Attempts to Resolve the Issue We have repeatedly contacted Squarespace Payments and their support teams. Their responses have included:Telling us we must wait 30 daysStating the reserve cannot be appealed Refusing to provide a written explanation of the risk or justification Refusing to allow us to process a refund for our client Giving only generic, non-responsive answers that do not address the central issue This lack of transparency, combined with refusal to release funds or explain their actions, is deeply concerning.________________________________________Why We Believe This Is a Consumer Protection Issue The behavior of Squarespace Payments appears to violate several standards of fair dealing and transparency expected of payment processors, including:Unfair or Deceptive Acts or Practices (UDAP)Failure to provide required settlement disclosures Failure to offer merchants an appeal or remediation path Holding funds in pooled accounts that may generate financial benefit while harming small businesses Restricting refunds to customers, causing further consumer impact As a small Texas business, we cannot wait more than a year for access to our own revenue. This hold, combined with the companys unwillingness to provide reasoning or assistance, poses a serious risk to our ability to operate.

    Hi, I was transferred from ****** Domains to Squarespace without consent. I have already transferred my domain to *************, but Squarespace charged me a renewal fee without notice.     Started moving my domains off of Squarespace platform over 2 weeks ago. When they saw me doing it they locked my domains so I could not transfer. I have 2 factor authentication on my account and verified everything. They still locked my domains and forced me to send in sensitive personal and financial information to prove my identity when I already verified I am the owner of the account via email and text message. I submitted all information and they still will not unlock my domains. Has been over 2 weeks from when this started and they have been of no help. They need to adjust my bill and refund any renewal fees so I can continue my service with new provider.

    Registered many domains with ****** and was migrated over to squarespace at some point. Upon trying to use squarespace, their interface is not user friendly for bulk managing many domains. I am trying to move my domains over to ********** however they locked my account. I have paid for all my domains and my account should be in good standing however they are requiring substantial personal information that they should not be entitled to as I have done nothing wrong and am simply trying to migrate to a different service provider.

    Complaint Summary:Squarespace charged my wife's account for an automatic renewal after I had stopped using their service. I contacted support immediately after the renewal charge appeared, requesting a cancellation and refund. Despite this prompt outreach, Squarespace has refused to issue a refund and has not meaningfully responded to multiple follow-ups.Details:I contacted Squarespace ************* (Case #********* in early October 2025 to request cancellation and reimbursement. The companys only reply restated their general auto-renewal policy and ignored the facts of the casespecifically, that the renewal was disputed immediately and the service was not used thereafter.I requested escalation to a billing supervisor and confirmation of cancellation, but Squarespace has not responded for several weeks.     Thank you again for your help facilitating my case with Squarespace. I wanted to provide additional context as the account holder.
    I have never used the ****** Workspace subscription that was charged under my account. This service was originally intended to be cancelled several years ago, and I was unaware that it continued renewing automatically in the background. Once the most recent charge appeared, my husband and I immediately contacted Squarespace to request cancellation and a refund.
    While I appreciate Squarespaces confirmation that the subscription is now cancelled and that a refund for the most recent renewal has been issued (ticket #********), I am still requesting reimbursement for all previous renewal years during which this unused service continued to bill. The account remained inactive, and there was no intentional renewal or use of the ***************** during that time.
    Given the circumstances and lack of usage, I believe refunding those prior years would be a fair and reasonable resolution. I appreciate your continued assistance in helping facilitate that outcome with Squarespace.

    I built a website on squarespace. I edited a section yesterday and somehow ALL the content of my website was deleted. I hit undo and yet couldn't retrieve it. I went through channels of customer service and they said there was nothing to do, it was not saved on a cloud. I repeat: a website hosting business does not save on to the cloud? I escalated the issue and same response. I almost can't believe it.

    This is a company that hosts websites. To not save website content that have been hosted on their server for months is outlandish.     I began selling my products through ************************** on September 6, 2025, but I have yet to receive any payout from my sales.Squarespace **** attempted to verify my account by depositing $0.1, but later claimed the verification failed. Unfortunately, there is no live customer service available communication is limited to chat and email. The email response times were extremely slow and unprofessional, often taking several days to receive a reply. This was a major red flag. Had I known this beforehand, I would not have signed up with them.During a chat session, I was asked to provide bank statements. Since the account was newly opened, no statements were available yet. Instead, I submitted the beneficiary page from when the account was first opened, but it was declined. I then had the bank print a transaction summary, which was also rejected.After several back-and-forth emails, we reached October 6, when I was finally able to submit a proper bank statement. It was accepted, and my account was verified. ********************** informed me that the payout would be processed within 1519 days. I requested an expedited payout, but they ************** is November 3, and I still have not received my payout. Upon checking my Squarespace account, I now see a message stating: Payouts are paused. Your information is under review.I simply want to receive the money Ive earned so I can leave Squarespace and transition to ******* as soon as possible. Two months in business with no payout is completely unacceptable.
