I signed up with Gitmeid Law, April 2025 I assured them of all documents submitted to them for a debt owed and was told I would receive legal service. This company charged my account $18 a month for legal services and then when it was time to pursue ***** services I was told they cannot assist in service. No money was refunded for the legal services nor was the monthly charge of nine dollars was refunded either. this company wasted a lot of my time and money. I spoke with a supervisor on July 2. 2025, They told me I would be refunded $40 for for my legal fees and was never refunded and then followed up the following week and was told something different that they were not able to refund my fees. Very disappointed with this service and untrustworthyCustomer Answer

Signed up with them to save money. Have paid loan back plus since signed up. Because cost was to much and payments were sent back. I am on a limited income with Social Security. Payments every two weeks and I had to take a part-time job to make the payments and still wasn't able to pay $263.50 a month and pay my normal bills. Have resettled and paid twice and each time I pay same amount back and not settled. All I have paid is not taken off of the account with Lendmark and I have tried to get them to see this. Then say I have to pay this $160 today and I don't have that money. I put off my meds and eating only twice a day and they don't understand this nor do they do settlement offers at 50% off like they said. Should not tell people this and not follow through. They just rip people off. Should be a class action lawsuit against them. If I figure out how to do one I will start one.Business Response

Joined this firm in 2022, I was sued twice by the same creditor due to their negligence. They failed to summit the proper paperwork to the creditor after a settlement was reached and it was send to them, signed by me as agreed. Creditor was still accepting the agreed upon payments but file a judgement against me in court because the final agreement consent form (signed by all the parties) was never send to creditor. I end up being charged $1,320 more by the creditor to cover their attorneys fees. I have successfully paid 4 more accounts one in 2023 and three in 2024 and I was also told that once the accounts are close and payments are made to fulfill the agreements that they will reach out to the creditors to update my credit. As of June 7, ******************************************************************************************************************************************************************* default. Because of their negligence a previous agreed settlement on an account of $4,170 but it became a $5,520 because the creditor added their attorney and court fee. I have all documentation that the paperwork was summited on time. They assured me that everything was taking care of because the creditor was receiving their payment. I have to called the creditor myself. I was informed that I was being sued because they never received the signed consent form. Again their negligence cost me an extra $1,350 in court and attorneys fees as well as their 24% settlement fee was added to that account. I have successfully settle and paid four accounts since 2023 and they are still being reported as delinquent. According to our contract is their responsibility to send the proper notice to this creditors and request a receipt that the accounts were paid once all the payments that we agreed upon were made. As of June 7, 2025 these accounts are still reporting as delinquent. Needles to say they have collected (of course) their settlement fees for these accounts.Business Response

This law firm entered into an agreement with my wife to settle our credit card debt through negotiation with our creditors. We paid them $900 a month to do so. I was recently served with a lawsuit from a creditor and learned they have never been contacted by the law firm. I called the law firm and asked for help and they refused to help me. I will be fighting the lawsuit alone even thought I signed up for protection from this. My wife is now deceased and I never signed anything with these people. They keep taking the money out of my checking account without representing me/us. Its shamefulInitial Complaint

This is the same thing that has happened to me. I found this on searching about Gitmeid Law. No matter how I try to dispute this, both companies just go around about in answers. I DID NOT sign any contracts with ***************. I never received any emails of an agreement, until recently as Im trying to dispute this. I am enrolled with gitmeid law and have settled all my debt. The last two creditors I had to pay off were both ************ A settlement was reached and I paid in full for both. They did not take the money to pay the settlement like I was told. Instead put it towards fees. I sent over $5000. I am definitely being scammed and hope I can get out of this sooner than later. I initiated an account with ********************************************* as a debt negotiating company in August of 2022. My first payment into the account to start paying off debts was in November of 2022. I was told they could negotiate my loans and help me pay off creditors and save money. I was between jobs, had a kid, and was still reeling from COVID affecting our professions. Since then I've been depositing $141 twice a month in addition to supplemental one-time deposits to try to accelerate those payoffs. After so long, the math wasn't adding up and I've been on the phone with a *** named "******" for the last hour trying to get an explanation. Looking at the monthly statements, my bank statements, and the account as well as what the *** is seeing from his end my totals are the following.Initial debt of all accounts - ****************************** claims they negotiated this amount down to $6715.75 (This excludes 2 accounts totaling $3,582 that are still in negotiations after 3 years)****** informed me there have been $2,963 in fees paid to Gitmeid for their service He informed me that (including the 2 not settled accounts) I have a remaining balance to payoff of $6,916.85 Since November of 2022 I have paid $12,905, I confirmed this amount with their BetrLink program, monthly transaction statements, and my bank's statements. The *** is entirely unable to explain why I've paid nearly double what they claimed to negotiate and is also unable to explain why I still owe $6k. Following their advice in 2022 I also stopped paying the creditors (as it would help them negotiate) which tanked my credit score and it's still not recovered.Business Response

I enrolled in this program in May 2023, hoping to get help managing my debts. Unfortunately, I just closed my account in March 2025 after realizing I was completely scammed. They took over $10,000 in negotiation fees, but when I called my creditors, I was shocked to find out what little had been done.Only $50 was paid toward one card, $1,000 toward another, and $4,000 toward the last one. On top of that, Im now being sued by another creditor that the company didnt even bother to work with. I feel lost and broken. I joined this program because I wanted to do the right thing for my family, but instead, they scammed me out of my hard-earned money. This program is completely misleading. I read another review that recommended working with creditors directly, and I wish I had listened. Thats exactly what Im doing now, but I cant get back the money I wasted on this so-called help. All I paid were negotiation fees, and nothing was paid ****** anyone considering this programdont make the same mistake I did. Work with your creditors directly. I just hope the people behind this feel good when they sleep at night after taking advantage of people like me who were just trying to get back on track.Business Response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
This is my response to the company's statement regarding my BBB complaint. While they say they are working toward a resolution, their actions and their attorneys statements do not reflect a true commitment to accountability.1. Misuse of Funds and Failure to Allocate to ***************************** *************** I was enrolled in the program and consistently paid $782 a month since 2023. When I took a medical leave for four months, I had more than enough money saved in the program account to cover my obligations. I resumed payments in November 2024, yet the company withdrew the bulk of the funds for themselves instead of paying my creditors. Only $5,500 was paid toward four accounts collectively, and not a single one was paid off in full, despite the available funds.
2. **************************************************************** **************** The companys attorney claimed they "deserved the money" because they negotiated on my behalf. However, negotiation alone does not justify taking thousands in fees when the agreed-upon funds are not properly allocated to the creditors. If the negotiated settlements werent paid, the negotiations were pointless and my accounts defaulted as a result.
3. Inadequate Refund Offer and *********************************************** **************** Now the company is offering only $1,900 back, despite withdrawing far more in fees. This refund is not even close to reasonable, given the minimal amount paid to creditors, the damage to my credit, and the *********** lawsuit Im now facing due to their mismanagement.
4. Financial Harm and ************************************* **************** This program has made my financial situation significantly worse. I entered this program to reduce my debt burden. Instead, Im now facing possible bankruptcy, severe stress, and damaged credit all while the company insists on keeping the bulk of the money I entrusted to them.
Requested Resolution:
A fair and substantial refund of the money that was not used to pay my debts.
A formal written statement accepting responsibility for the mismanagement of my account.
All remaining fees waived, with a transparent explanation of how the refund amount was calculated.I joined this program in good faith. The companys failure to act in my best interest and their continued attempts to justify their actions despite the clear harm done are unacceptable. I ask the BBB to hold them accountable and support my request for a just resolution.
Best Regards,

Enrolled in debt payment program in 2024. Sent payoff amount for all debt received on 3/1/25 by Gitmeid. Emailed Gitmeid on 3/4/25 to follow up. Last May 2024, I signed up with ******************** to help Me during a financial hardship and help me with paying down my debt. They are operated and managed through Robert Gitmeid *************. This is a scheme. The had six of my accounts they assured me they can negotiate down and probably cut it in half. We worked out a plan for ACH withdrawal of payments twice a month.I was concerned about the amount and twice a month and they were very demanding of that. I lost my job at the end of May ************************************************************************************************************************************************** to send two payments a month. Then in September, I had a car accident and my car was a total loss and I had some health issues and injuries and I contacted Gitmeid Law to decrease the amount and request that I only send once a month. There's so many fees that are taking out of these payments each month. None of my six account balances are going down. Only one was negotiated since last May.. they also do not allow me to just pay once a month. I sent an email on 3/9/25, Authorizing and requesting to cancel the services and refund me my $350. they ach withdrew in 3/7/25. I called Gitmeid Law today and was harassed by ****. He was demanding payment of $2000 to the one creditor that they negotiated. After I have paid them $6891 and not one single bill has been paid off, not even the smaller ones. I could've paid off a few of my creditors with $6891. This law firm /******************** needs to be audited. Extreme fees and my creditors are not being paid. This is a scheme. I am requesting a full refund of $6891. They have done nothing to help me pay off any debt. Gitmeid Law withdrew my money for 10 months and **** is demanding $2000 from me. I want this service canceled and to confirm that no more withdrawals will be made. I notified my bank. I am requesting Confirmation email for a full refund and cancelled.Business Response
