I have been a customer for years (Astoria and Middle Village locations) and have not had an issue, until they hired a new billing person. I went for a regular check up in May and they tell me I have an outstanding balance from 2022 which I have never been notified prior. I began going to ************** who is the main licensed provider of Walk In GYN Care due to the fact that my insurance was IN network. Now all of the sudden I receive a bill from 7/1/22, 10/7/22, and 12/21/22 because they billed my insurance out of network. I paid my regular copay of $20 for each visit and already paid my in-network deductible in the beginning of the year through my regular physician. I spoke to *** on 5/22/23 regarding this bill I received and she said I am not in-network and that she's not sure how my insurance was billed previously since they have NEVER been in-network with my insurance. She also said my insurance sent me a check instead of them, so I said I would look into it and go from there.I called my insurance and they said a check was never sent to me and that they sent every single payment DIRECTLY to the provider. Spoke to *** again 6/13/23 and she was EXTREMELY rude saying she shouldn't have to repeat herself, it's my job to find out if my insurance is in-network with whichever provider is there that day(I've never seen the same provider twice), to find out where the check is and hung up. This office is now trying to get me to pay over $500 out of pocket for services that are covered. I will not and should not pay any out of pocket expenses to a provider when I was told that I was in-network, regardless if it's a billing error or they are just trying to get more money out of their clients.
