Products and Services

In November 2014, information came into Metro NY BBB to develop a record for an organization called Family Support. A consumer report came in alleging that one of this firm's representatives was soliciting on Facebook group page for disabled persons to receive annual government grants of $50K. The representative reportedly said that in order to receive the grant, the consumer must pay a "delivery fee" of $750 via Western Union.

A review of the firm's website at http://www.familysupport.info shows that this firm is representing itself as part of United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA). Metro NY BBB could not find confirmation of a program called Family Support that is managed by UN DESA. The firm's website is a privately registered domain for one year (2/11/2014 - 2/11/2015). There is no telephone or fax number included in the contact information on the website. After conducting a Google image search, Metro NY BBB found that several of the images used on the firm's website have been copied from Fedex's corporate website and a Gazette UK article.

Metro NY BBB made several attempts to contact this company to obtain information about their business practices, principal officers, current physical location, and mailing address, as well as to clarify several advertising claims. However, the company failed to respond to BBB's inquiries. Mail has been returned as undeliverable from the PO Box address provided on the firm's website. This is not a valid address with USPS.

Metro NY BBB has relayed this information to UN DESA, and consumers who have questions about programs managed by UN DESA should check that organization's website at: http://www.un.org/en/development/desa/index.html
