- Additional Info:After several complaints against Sober Recovery Coach Association (SRCA) were returned by USPS, BBB unsuccessfully attempted to reach SRCA representatives by phone or email regarding their business practices, missing background information, credentials of the principal officers, and advertising issues. BBB did not find a registration for this business with the New York Department of State's Division of Corporations. In addition, BBB confirmed with the real estate management for 250 Park Avenue, New York, NY that the Sober Recovery Coach Association (SRCA) is not a current tenant of that building.
The SRCA website at http://srcahelpingyou.com was still active as of summer 2013 but has since been de-activated. The firm continued to advertise on that site for a recovery coach opportunity with potential compensation of $75 per hour, as well as for the $150 test/certification fee. The BBB uncovered a copy of an ad placed on Craigslist in the Dallas/Fort Worth area in early July. The ad called for recovery coaches to work for SRCA with promises of making $75/hour or up to $300 per day. BBB has also found that a similar business enterprise was operating in early 2013 in Florida. The BBB of Southeast Florida and the Caribbean (West Palm, FL) created a report on the Recovery Coach Directory operating out of Delray Beach, FL in February 2013. Several consumers complained to West Palm BBB that Recovery Coach Directory accepted payments of $150 for certification, but there were no subsequent job offers or contact from the company. That company’s website is now inactive and none of the complaints were answered by Recovery Coach Directory.
