I deposited money in the *** machine in Brooklyn chase bank . Then the money never hit my bank. Chase is refusing to return me my money back they dont want look at cameras for that day. Was trying to withdrawal money as on the screen stated that the money was being withdrawal within seconds another screen popped up that stated ATM Under Maintenance and the money never came out so I left and as I got home I checked my EBT App and the money part was on $7 out of $417 and they refused to assist me at this time.Business Response

I am active duty military of 12 years. I opened a lock box up in ******** on my first duty tour 11 years ago. Chase bank will not let me close my lock box and now charging me ***************************************************************** a decade. The lock box used to be free for military when I first had it open and now that they are charging I would like to close it because I havent used it in years. They wont take my military order or status to close box. They claim I have to fly to ******** and go in person to branch to close box. Yesterday I deposited a check from the ******************* into my Chase checking account. This check is a state income tax refund and is signed by **************** Controller ************************. It is not a personal check. Despite this, however, ********************* Chase put a ten-day hold on it. Ten days. I called Chase customer service and complained. I pointed out that this is not a check from a private citizen; not from **************** of Embezzle, *****, but from the ******************* the same state, by the way, which issues my monthly salary that is then directly deposited into my Chase account. But they would not budge. Ten days, they told me. My only response was that, if Id have known this, I would have bypassed their ridiculous and frankly needlessly draconian hold policy by simply cashing the check. Instead, the hold on my money has caused me a number of problems, not least of which was being forced to pay Chase a $30.00 cancellation fee on my monthly truck payment, which I mailed out yesterday. This fee, not to mention the cancellation, the hours I spent on the phone with both Chase and my auto financing company, as well as undue stress, is all the fault of Chase. And, if thats not enough, their customer service phone bank is hopelessly antiquated. They do not have caller ID or other high tech verification practices that are standard with most other companies, thus making the identification process needlessly cumbersome. Again, Chase is completely culpable here and are moreover treating me like a common criminal. Heres a clue, J.P.; criminals dont deposit forged checks. That makes it too easy to get caught. I also recall bailing you out in 2008. One would think, in light of this, that a bit of reciprocity was in order; that youd be capable, after absorbing all those bailout billions, of being able to look at a check and decide whether it was good or not without putting it before a committee. Instead, you assume that said depositor is a forger. That he or she is guilty until proven innocent, and that it will take a full ten days to admit your customers innocence and award him or her with access to their own money.Customer Answer

On October 31, 2023 I deposited a check, issued from the ** ***** of ***** Treasury. Chase placed a hold on it but assured me that the funds would be released the next business day. On November 1, 2023 I spoke with a supervisor named ******* and he advised that the check was fraudulent. He did not contact the state to verify but told me that the check was flagged. He could not give me an explanation as to why. I contacted the state and the representative was appalled and perplexed. She stated that banks called often and there has never been an issue. Chase Bank has accused the ********** of ***** Treasury of fraud.Business Response

I was being scammed by someone claiming that they were with ************* Before I caught on, they had reverse previous bills that were already paid. I called Chase Bank to stop the investigation, they replied that once they started it could not be stopped. I explained that it was not me, and that you did not do a complete verification of my information. And why did you not think that something was wrong when the reversals of all paid accounts went back three months. I tried to get them (Chase), to repay all of the accounts, as of today they still have not paid any accounts. I explained that my water will be turned off if they do not immediately pay the water company. I have been on the phone for hours, with no luck. My last call I was told that the verification's system was down, that I should call back in two to four hours later.Business Response

On 10/26/23 I attempted to make a wire transfer through Chase Bank. I was told there was no problem with the transfer. Later that day I received a phone call from Chase regarding the wire transfer (which is normal). After a few questions I was told transfer would go through. After that I received an email saying that transfer was approved and would go through. On 10/27/23 I received another phone call from Chase and after many more questions I was told that transfer was being declined because they suspected wire fraud and my account would be closed and my relationship with Chase Bank terminated. I was told I could pick up a cashiers check for the balance in my account 10/30/23. When I went to pick up the check I was refused my funds due to an ongoing "investigation". I was told it could be months before I can get access to my funds. As you can imagine I find this situation unacceptable.Business Response
