I had a car loan with them in 2021. It was paid off 2022 and a few months ago I received a letter in the mail stating that I had a refund check that they issued that was never cashed (because they never gave it to me) and that I needed to claim it before its sent to the state. I contacted them and they told me they are sending me the check. A few weeks later I got the mail- opened it and there was a letter stating the check was enclosed but there was no check just a piece of paper. I was so confused. I contacted them again and they said sorry, we will just send you a new check. A few weeks later I recieved the letter and this time there actually was a check. However when I went to cash it it was declined and pulled back out of my account. I called and asked them why and they said it's because the check I have was voided when they issued the new check. So they sent me the check i was supposed to recieve in the first letter instead of the replacement check. So now I need to wait more than a month for them to investigate where the "new" check went. I've never dealt with anything like this with a bank. Im honestly shocked how much someone has screwed up something so simple. Ive been dealing with this for like 2 months Im so frustrated I almost cried. I believe i will never see that money at this point. Maybe thats the goal.

Hate the app. Why can’t they let you search for transactions by business name? Sure I can filter by date and amount, but there’s still an incredibly long list of transactions to sort through, especially if I’m looking for a particular transaction with a company I’ve done business with for several years. You can’t even get this information by talking to customer service! They tell me they can print out the exact same list I have access to on my phone so that I can pour through the 20 pages. What is so hard about enabling a search function?!?
And another thing: holding deposits for 15 days before they show up in your account is INSANE. I’ve even deposited cash into my account and not had access to the funds for weeks. Your life can fall apart quick when dealing with a bank who goes out of their way to keep your money from you. I do not recommend Chase Bank.

Chase is becoming a nightmare. Customer service has a nerve to hang up on customer now. Who does that? They want to know what you do with your money and why are you spending it and who do you know. This is insane. Someone in corporate needs to look at this rude process and customer service. I guess it’s time to let someone else use my money than chase.

The bank takes the side of merchants over their own customers.

Appalling and incredibly frustrating experience trying to apply for a Chase ******** credit card. I initially applied online back in May 2023, strangely was auto-rejected immediately, and upon visiting a local Chase branch in ****** came to discover that there was another customer with an active ******** product that had my SSN attached to their card. A Chase rep called in on my behalf and wasted 2 hours getting jerked around by several internal Chase departments who kept punting the issue/responsibility to other departments. They did confirm that the other customer was legitimate, was not related to me, had opened their account over 10 years ago, and some Chase rep had likely entered my SSN inadvertently. After I left the branch, said Chase rep ended up leaving the company within a few months so my issue was not resolved and Chase never bothered reaching out to me.
Earlier this year, I tried applying again due to Chase's 100k points offer but was rejected again as the other customer still had my SSN attached to their card. Since April 2025, I have applied 3 more times (apparently applications are only good for 30 days) and wasted countless hours on the phone during working hours getting redirected fruitlessly between: Chase Customer Protections group, Fraud Operations team, New Account Screening team, Fraud Security team, Chase Underwriting Dept, Card Lending Services, Customer Service, Credit Bureau Dept, Acquisitions/Reconsiderations, Fraud Verification, Card Lending/Escalations, Credit Card Servicing, Backend team, Fraud Specialist team. I have had to re-explain my situation to every single rep, and every time without fail the rep on the phone eventually punts me to some other department with no resolution or accountability. I have also reached out to the SSA and TransUnion Credit Bureau, neither of which were particularly helpful either.
0/10 experience, would not recommend Chase to friends or family. I would give a 0 star review if that were possible.

I am extremely disappointed with Chase Bank and feel compelled to share my experience so others can be aware of their poor business practices. After maintaining an account with them for over a year—without a single bounced transaction and an average balance consistently well over $2,000—I am shocked at how I was treated.
Over the past 12 months, I haven’t deposited less than $10,000 into my account. Despite this, Chase has made random and unexplained decisions regarding my account that make no sense. Most recently, I attempted—for the third time—to open a self-directed investment account. The first two attempts resulted in my account being frozen without clear explanation. Eventually, they were unfrozen. But the third time, instead of resolving the issue, Chase arbitrarily decided to close my entire account with no warning and no justification.
This was deeply insulting and incredibly inconvenient. I have never had any issues with my transactions or account management, yet I was treated as if I had done something wrong. The customer service throughout this process was terrible—unhelpful, dismissive, and opaque.
I will no longer be banking with Chase, and I will be telling everyone I know to steer clear of them. If you’re looking for a reliable, respectful banking relationship, look elsewhere. Chase has proven to me that they are not interested in treating their customers with fairness or transparency.

My husband, and I have had Chase checking, saving accounts for 10+ years, as well as a credit card. My husband wanted to add an account for our child, he set up a pin, it never worked so we never ran it as debit. We had a new card come for our son, and I could activate it, neither could my husband.

I had my husband on the line as he is the primary account holder - and explained that he works a lot, this is why I was also on the line as he was at work ; he authorized me, and stay on the line.

The customer service rep, Joey, was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional - as she kept saying that she could not help us that we must use the automated line and kept referring to me as if I had somehow no understanding of the process.

She is the worst experience I have ever had with a representative of any company, namely Chase. My husband was upset as well, but had to leave the line since he runs a company. But, I wanted to come here and let Chase know that she is not the kind of experience that Chase customers deserve. If it were up me, I would close every account.

I called Chase Bank Credit Card Services to find out why my pay-from account was displaying on the Chase App as an external account with all of the details of my checking, savings, and loan information also displayed.
The first agent did not know why and transferred me to another agent, who sounded like she was in the Philippines (Why is an American talking to an agent in the Philippines?). This agent said that the problem must be a glitch, but she could not rectify the problem, so she would need to send me to a third agent and, eventually, she said I would finally need to talk to a fourth agent in yet a different department.
It was 5:45pm Pacific Time, and she informed me that the next department likely closed at 5pm, but she had already told me that she would transfer me to that department. Why transfer me to a department that is already closed?
After I pointed this out to her, she put me on hold and called someone to find out for sure. Seven minutes later, a male voice came on the line and said, "Ok, thank you. Have a nice day," and then this unknown agent hung up!
I spent 48-minutes of my evening on the phone with Chase: nothing was resolved, nobody knew what they were talking about, and then I caught the end of what was probably someone else's conversation before my call was disconnected.
Yes, there's a glitch all right. That glitch is the customer service of Chase, ***** ***** ****** ******* *********..every DEI-hiring company out there.

Chase charges a $34 overdraft fees for purchases that are over $5. I think this is criminal. Why charge $34 for a purchase of $7? Disgusting.
