On July 1, 2025, I used Bumper to purchase a single vin check for $1 and immediately cancelled to avoid later fees. At no point did I sign up for a membership or authorize any recurring charges. A week later, on July 8, 2025, I noticed a charge of $27.99 USD on my credit card that I was not informed of, did not authorize, and was not expecting. I was under the impression I was making a one-time purchase only, but they are using my credit card on file as if I had signed up for a membership. On or around May 14th, 2025 I used Bumper to purchase a single vin check for $1. At no point did I sign up for a membership or authorize any recurring charges. 2 months later I noticed multiple (3) charges of $27.99 USD on my credit card(****** account) that I was not informed of, did not authorize, and was not expecting. I was under the impression I was making a one-time purchase only, but they are using my credit card on file as if I had signed up for a membership. I was able to cancel my account but I'm seeking a refund of previous charges. the referred me to their terms and agreements...I feel their website is very deceptive and misleading. On 7/10 2025 I paid ********** ***** to run a single report on my car, which is an old corvette. The main reason I was doing this was to get ownership info and service record history (all things promised in the VERY long loading page). Upon paying, the only thing this report told me is that the car has had one owner in the past two years (which isnt even accurate as I purchased the vehicle from a friend a few months back). I reached out to support about a refund as I am not even remotely satisfied, and all they did was cancel my account and not reply to any further messages. Scammers for sure. F rating.Customer Answer

I initially subscribed to bumper on September 8th 2023 ( maybe even before that) for a one time vin search. I then canceled it shortly after that. When checking my bank account I noticed that they never really canceled my subscription and have been billing me for every month for nearly two years now. My purchase history for my bank account only goes back to January of 2025 so I only have proof of transaction from Jan 2025 to now as I was never emailed any receipts from bumper. Unfortunately, we don't have history reports for RVs, motorhomes and tractors.

Whilst I accept that the database is growing, my explicit complaint is that they claim to have a report - which will only be shared post payment, but in actual fact - there is no data, so its a lie, There is no transparency, just falsehood. Be Honest - Say "no results found, try again in 3-6 months" as an example if no data is recoverable at this time, I would have happily set a calendar alert to try again at a later date, then if a report was found - pay to retrieve.
