After an increase in reports to BBB of Metro NY regarding fees collected to receive a loan, Metro NY BBB began looking into consumer allegations against online lender, West Lansing Financial Group. This company claims to be operating in midtown Manhattan at the address: 609 W 46th St., New York, NY 10036. Mail sent to this address was returned by USPS as No Such Number.

BBB found no record for West Lansing Financial Group with the New York Department of State's Division of Corporations, and could not locate a registration for the company with New York Department of Financial Services as a Licensed Lender. The domain for the business was privately registered in on 9/13/2018 for a one year period. 

Consumers have told BBB that they had been in contact with representatives of West Lansing Financial Group to obtain a loan. Several consumers claim that the company requested a payment upfront as "collateral" to secure the loan, which the consumers allegedly paid to West Lansing Financial Group. Upfront fees reported by these consumers ranged ranged from $450 to nearly $1000, and none of them received the promised loan, or refund of the fees charged.

Metro NY BBB has made several attempts to contact West Lansing Financial Group to obtain information about its business practices, principals, physical location, and to correct website advertising issues, but the company never responded to BBB's inquiries. The website for this firm (http://www.westlansingfinancial.com/) is still active as of 11/16/2018 but when calling the number reported on the website (877-315-5965), the caller encounters a busy signal and cannot connect to a reprentative or voicemail. BBB could not locate a working telephone number for this firm.
