  Terrible customer service that is unreachable in an emergency. Policy Genius messed up setting up my autopayment and my insurance policy was cancelled. The insurance company can't restore it because the policy was set up through Policy Genius. Policy Genius provides literally no way to reach a customer service agent by phone directly. Their automated phone system sends you a text or email directing you to explain your problem and that they will contact you in ***** hours. The email I eventually received back did not provide a way to restore my policy or provide a phone number to actually speak to an agent about the problem. I remain stuck in limbo with an uninsured car and no timeline for reinsurance. Avoid Policy Genius if you ever think you will need timely customer service.

  It started out fine working with Policygenius to get life insurance, but that has now been months and I am still waiting for my policy to start. First they needed to add my beneficiaries and they attempted to do so for over a month with no success. They then told me I had to pay the initial fee first. I sent in a check on 4/7, it was processed on 4/10. Policygenius says they did not receive the check and can not start my policy. For over a month they have been looking for the check and are telling me to not send in another check, so in the meantime I still have no life insurance policy. Everytime I call I get someone that has no idea what is going on, can not let me speak to anyone that does know what is going on, and tells me that they have to speak to Corebridge, the owner of the policy. I ask if I should call Corebridge and they say "I guess you can if you want". It's like talking to my teenagers and trying to get somewhere with the conversation. They would of course like to get access to my bank account so they can do a direct pull of funds. After my experience with them I am very hesitant to put any faith in their abilities.

  I was quoted a home owners insurance number from PolicyGenius, when I shopped around I was able to find something for less than half the quote from PolicyGenius, They proceeded to follow-up with email requests to "finalize my policy" up to 3 weeks after I had told them in writing I would not be proceeding with the ********************* quoted and asked they cancel my application (which was all before the policy was supposed to start). Fast forward a few months and I received a notice from my Mortgage lender that they would be increasing my escrow due to my insurance premium. When I looked into it further, I found that PolicyGenius proceeded with the policy despite my request for cancellation and lack of paperwork execution, and charged my mortgage for the full policy! This company is fraudulent. I am lucky I am privileged enough to be able to afford the financial offset this caused in my accounts, I could not imagine being someone who could not and having to deal with this.

We apologize for any inconvenience associated with your last interaction with our team. In order to address your concerns we conducted a review of your case to better understand your ************* September 2024 you reached out as an existing client to request quotes for a new home purchase. You received and accepted a quote to put a policy in place effective 9/26/2024. Subsequently you requested changes and ultimately decided to cancel the policy. Your policy was flat cancelled effective 9/26/2024. Per the insurance company, they provided two confirmation notices advising that the policy was cancelled. The lender then proceeded to make a payment on 10/11/2024 after the policy was cancelled. The insurance company has since issued a refund for the full premium on 10/23/2024 and reissued it on 3/12/2025.   With the person I have talked to, I give a 5 star review. It isn't good when other folks had bad experiences. I did not have a bad experience, actually, the exact opposite. I would recommend Policygenius to my family and friends.

  I can'r contact these guys. They don't answer messages on their website. All paths on phone line maze lead to a message promising a link to be sent to schedule a meeting which never comes and then hangs up. I even tried sending a DM to their X account. And the sad thing is they used to be good. Not sure what is going on, did they lose all of their employees?

  Policy Genius was advertising no medical exam policies but once you waste your time with their form and call, they will direct you and tell you , you will need to get one. They are not trustworthy and slimy,

  Last week, I called Policygenius to ask for help getting quotes for life insurance. The agent who assisted me was very kind and helpful when he thought I was going to buy something. He walked me through an application for a policy that he deemed was best for my situation. By the end of our call, I hadn't signed the application because I wanted to talk to my wife and get a quote from another company. I did get a quote from a different company and we chose to go with them because they offered a better deal. In the meantime (3 days), Policygenius called or emailed over a dozen times attempting to get me to sign the application. When I called the agent at Policygenius back today to let him know, he was very rude and hung up after I told him our choice. Not a word of goodbye. I understand the agents get commissions, so I really do regret taking his time. However, I don't believe that warrants the agent's behavior. Very unprofessional. I was considering them to check my auto too, but I will not be using them or recommending them to anyone.

  Through a difficult and exhausting application process the team at Policy Genius stayed on top by providing me with regular updates until my policy was finally approved. I was totally satisfied and would recommend others to give them a call.
