I'm writing to officially file a complaint with NY Finest Roofing and Siding.I entered into a contract with the owner, ******, on August 9, 2021. As per the contract, I paid the deposit on the same date.****** initiated roof work on August 17, 2021. An initial payment was paid on August 17th in cash. A financing plan was initiated for the remaining balance and an additional charge for an unexpected finding while roofing was performed. My husband verified this finding.On the 17th, a hole was noted in the ceiling which was made from one of the workers while roofing was performed. ****** was aware of the damage and stated he would speak with someone else in his company that would repair the ceiling. On August 18th, ******** team returned to place the gutters. An insert was to be placed in the gutters which was listed on the contract. This was not placed on the 18th. Again, no repair was done on the interior. I called ****** about the interior repair and the gutter inserts. He informed me again he would speak with a person in his company who would handle sheetrock repairs. He also informed me I still had a balance. I said nothing is written on the contract stating any additional amounts. He wanted me to pay him an additional $500 to offset the finance charges ************** would deduct from his final payment. I told him he needs to fix the interior and then we'll discuss this additional amount. On August 21st, during a hurricane, water was leaking from the skylight. ****** was made immediately aware as I sent him a video and pictures of the damage. I sent additional pictures of more damage that occurred from the rain. He profusely apologized but no one came to the house to assess or fix the damage incurred. As of the date of this letter, the roofing work is incomplete as the inserts for the gutters were not placed. The damage to my ceiling has not been repaired. I've called and texted ****** and his company several times to request completion and repair. ****** told me on two separate occasions he would come to evaluate the roof. He did not show up each time. This company is dishonest. unethical and unacceptable.
