I hired ****'s Home Inspections to complete a inspection on a home I was purchasing. The assigned inspector, *********************, missed several issues, despite issuing an inspection report indicating that none of those issues were present. Specifically, the assigned home inspector missed: extensive chimney damage, evidence of a leak and faulty plumbing, and termite infestation and damage. The Home Inspection was meant to include an analysis and termite certification as part of the full report. However, the final inspection report does not include a termite certification and does not indicate that a termite analysis was done. I discussed these findings with the assigned inspector who was initially apologetic and agreed to resolve the issues. We agreed that I would be reimbursed for the Home Inspection fee as well as the cost of the termite treatment. However, he changed his mind and is no longer willing to issue any refund. I tried to discuss with the business owner, *********************, who is refusing to assist. His position is that the assigned inspector is an independent contractor and he is refusing to support a resolution. However, I did not hire the independent contractor, I hired ****'s Home Inspections. I would like my inspection fee refunded, as well as reimbursement for the termite treatment expense.
