This complaint is concerning my stay at Airport Plaza Hotel JFK airport booked through the Expedia platform (May 20 May 22, 2022; Confirmation: ******************; Expedia itinerary: **************). I paid $208 for my 2-night stay. Upon arrival at the hotel on 5/20, my sister and I were shocked to see the room left in an utterly disgusting and unsafe state. Some of our observations include:1. The room was never cleaned, and there was dangerous needle equipment stored in the drawers and cupboards.2. There was blood everywhere! Fresh bloodstains on the switchboard plugs (picture 4), blood-soaked socks stored inside the nightstand, blood on the wall next to the bed, dried blood stains on the bed sheets 3. People had defecated all over the common areas on floor 2, and the stench was extremely nasty, thus rendering the place uninhabitable 4. A man passed out on the stairway to the first floor, and it was unsafe for us to walk down to the main lobby. Due to privacy reasons, we did not capture a picture of this incident. The elevator was not fully functional and took several minutes to get to floor 2. We were essentially stranded on our uninhabitable floor 5. Upon appraising the hotel manager of our problems, he told us he would send us a fresh set of sheets but never turned up to give them to us. We had to go downstairs again and nudge the hotel manager again, but he was unempathetic and gave us more sheets that had bed bugs on them. 6. The curtain was slashed by a knife or some sharp object, thus adding to our fears.Despite appraising the hotel manager, front desk staff, and Expedia of the situation, we were never provided alternate room/housing or a refund for the quality of service we received. I request BBB to investigate this complaint and help me get a full refund along with a promise from Expedia to delist this hotel from their platform. Expedia's business practices are predatory, and they exploit their customers by inflating their hotel ratings.
