At the start of February I scrambled to find insurance when discovering that my COBRA was not being extended and fell for their use of paid search result positioning (my own fault) and purchased and insurance plan believing it was an ACA accredited plan.

I reviewed the plan information once I received it through my online portal and realizing my mistake I called *** ****** on the 5th of February and attempted to cancel my plan for March. I had to call back four separate times as they refused to cancel my plan without a good enough reason on my part despite promising that I could cancel at any time during the initial call.

I was finally able to get someone who agreed to cancel my plan, giving me verbal confirmation that they were doing so. After I insured they were cancelling my plan they asked if they could call me the next day to sell me a plan through one of the their partner companies. Saying no to them earlier had led to them refusing service so I agreed to get off the phone.

On March 1st *** ****** charged me $723 for another month of insurance. When I called to try and correct the mistake I was told that the notes from the last call stated that I had scheduled a time to call them and since I had failed to call they had continued the insurance plan. This was directly against my wishes and a ridiculous claim given that they asked to call me and I can't actually schedule a call with them and have to call the main line during business hours.

I required the person on the phone to tell me what cancellation confirmation actually looked like, received a cancellation number that I was not informed existed in my first calls, and was told a refund was impossible.

This incident also caused the ACA insurance I was trying to sign up for to fail and I am still trying to fix this new issue.

I made an online inquiry about retaining and individual health insurance plan. I was contacted back immediately by a company selling themselves as ***** insurance. After discussing plans with an ( agent ) I gave my information and signed on . After making 2 payment of 449.56 I still had not received any info in the mail .I thought it was odd but was unsuspecting and figured I would wait a bit longer. Few days later I received an ID card in the mail from a company called Aither insurance. I'd never heard of them and was immediately concerned so I called the number on the card and was told that not only was I NOT insured with ***** , my coverage and copay was not what I had been told. Immediately tried to cancel and get a refund only to be told that I was over my 30 days so I was not eligible, even though I hadn't received anything in the mail till day 45. These people are scum and prey on unsuspecting people that are not familiar with the process.
