Dear *****: Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. I investigated this complaint regarding an account placed with Mercantile Adjustment Bureau, LLC and this is the first notification that attempts were made to a phone number which was the wrong phone. The recipient was not the intended individual whom Mercantile was attempting to contact and the phone number has been removed as a wrong number. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that they are still scamming. I never provided the two phone numbers that I called. But yet they claim that I called wrong numbers. One of the numbers that I called was listed on their website. I am happy that they will not be calling me, but based on other BBB complaints, this is how they operate. It’s a scam!

      Regards,

I received a collection letter from Mercantile Adjustment Bureau, LLC on 05/03/2025
referencing they were trying to collect a bill for a company called ********. Both companies I have never heard of or have done business with. The amount they are trying to scam from me is $1863.26. I looked up both companies on your site. ******** is a Native American business in North Dakota. I have never heard of them. I believe one of these companies aforementioned are trying to commit mail fraud upon me through the mail. I have kept the letter and the envelope. Please help me with this and advise me if you are able to do so. I will also be in contact with my lawyer.

I continue to receive texts from Mercantile Debt Collectors regarding some ** ******** account. I have reported the text as junk because I have never had an account with ** ******** yet I continue to receive texts. Due to the number of scams I refuse to contact the number in the text or click on the link. However, I am unable to find any contact information for said debt collector that seems to be legitimate. They need to quit contacting me seeing as I have never had an account with the entity they are trying to collect on behalf of.

to be the issue that other BBB complaints have lodged. It seems that Mercantile needs to run a tighter ship, rather than having to chase their tail correcting problems they created. If they still think I owe them money, then this is a case of ID fraud that would need to be investigated. Otherwise, I want them to just stop texting me.

I am receiving text messages from Mercantile Adjustment Bureau saying they are a debt collector. I don't owe any overdue debt and have an excellent credit score. I have checked my credit reports with all three bureaus and the are no outstanding debts nor collections listed. I've never received a letter from this company and I definitely won't be clicking on the link they are sending to my phone. I entered into an agreement on 9/23/24, where i would be able to pay 416 total on one of my past debts. I have paid on time all payment except the last one. For some reason the last payment never went out. I have attempted to contact them through email, as i want documentation on any time i reach out to the company. Total I have paid 371 to satisfy the current debt. I am planning to pay the last payment on 1/10/25, as the final payment was not taken out, that total is 45.83. I would like to get this debt finally resolved now, as they have not reached back out and i am not able to get any information regarding this debt. If they are not they then made a fraudulent claim that I was able to pay the lower amount as i would not be able to afford the original amount. Please any help would be appreciated.
