I had registered my wife, daughter, and self for the 2025 tough mudder event in **********, but it was cancelled. When I asked for a refund, since the event was cancelled, they refused, but told me I would be given coupon codes for each of us that each "can be used for up to any three 2025 Tough Mudder ************* or US Spartan events, valid through 12/31/2025" (visible in the attached image). We used these codes to sign up for 2 events, but they did not work for a third event, and specifically even signing up for a longer 20k race did not work as the second coupon code. I have been reaching out to tough mudder and Spartan Race US which acquired them to try to correct this, but the customer support experience has been terrible.We ran the first compensatory event with some friends we convinced to do it with us, and we convinced them to sign up for the next 2 events we were planning to use our codes to register for, so I was eager to get this resolved so we can book hotels and coordinate with them. I sent an email the day after the event and three emails within a week and got no response until 8 days after the initial email (attached below). They have no way to call and talk to a human in real time. Even if you track down their help number and call them, it just tells you to send them an email. That initial response offered no resolution, just a promise they were on it. After more than 2 weeks I got a response that the code didn't work for that event, but it should work for others (despite their initial correspondence saying it works for any US spartan event). I tried it on other races and it came up as invalid. I responded to their help email with screenshots, and still have not gotten a response. I am beyond frustrated with this poor customer experience.Initial Complaint

- I purchased a ticket to the tough mudder on July 3rd, 2024 for a race on December 7th, 2024 - I received a partial refund of $29.99 unexpectedly on Oct 29th, 2024 with no explanation - On December 6th, 2024 the vendor finally sent out a notice to everyone that the race had been canceled.- I emailed the vendor multiple times requesting a refund which they finally agreed to but then never followed through - Under California law - Cal. **** & Prof. **** ***** and further defined in Cal. **** & Prof. **** Ch 21 - Ticket Sellers I am entitled to a full refund within 30 days of the cancellation of the event. Has also failed to provide proper notice of the cancellation of the event as the purchaser (myself) had to reach out to inquire about the status of this event. June 30, 2024 I purchased a ticket for Tough Mudder ******** 2025 for $90.82 (taxes and processing fee included). Originally set to take place April, 26, 2025. This event was rescheduled on August 30, 2024 to take place August 16, 2025. I found out on December 26, 2024 that the event was cancelled without notice. When I asked about a refund I was told there is no refund per the refund policy *******************************************************************************************************************************************************. At the ** event August 2024, I purchased 2 tickets for the ** 2025. There was no confirmed date yet for the same location but the people working at the ticket booth said the event will be returning. Because of this, I purchased two tickets. ** decided not to host an event in the same city and the next closest event is more than 2 states away. I tried contacting them for a refund, but they denied my request stating they have a no refund policy. They said to attend another event as an alternative which is not a feasible option as it would cost thousands of dollars for travel and housing accommodations alone. I am seeking a refund for the tickets I bought as the event that they advertised is no longer occurring.Customer Answer

This transaction took place on May 1, 2024. I had just finished my tough mudder race and there was an offer for a deep discount to purchase a pass for next years tough mudder. The Tough Mudder in ******** was being advertised for 2025, which is the only one really close to me and the one that I wanted to do. I bought the passes and they have now cancelled the 2025 Tough Mudder in ******** so I emailed to try and get a refund for my purchase. They are telling me that I cannot get a refund because the purchase was made more than 48 hours ago and that even though they cancelled the event, that I could use it on another race (which is around 4-5 hours away). This is not an acceptable response to me because they are the ones that advertised the discount for purchasing early and then cancelled the event. If I have to go to one of the other races to get my money worth, then it would cost gas money and hotel to go to another event. I am just wanting to get a refund for the $99 that I spent on an event that was then cancelled by the vendor. They have stopped communicating with me today after telling me that I couldn't get a refund because it was purchased more than 48 hours ago and that I could use it on another race. On 9/26/2024 I purchased a ticket to the 2025 Pittsburgh Tough Mudder event scheduled to take place on 9/13/2025 for the cost of $146.99. I received an email on 11/1/2024 notifying me that the event had been canceled and offering me a code that would allow me to attend a different event, on a different day, in a different state. I had no interest or ability to attend another event. I booked this event specifically because of it being near my home and on a date/ time I was available. After multiple attempts to request a refund, they refuse to even respond. My friend who also purchased a ticket was told that they were not offering any refunds. After reading their extensive purchase agreement. The only provision I could see that was even potentially valid was one statement that they do not offer refunds for events cancelled due to low attendance. Im not sure how they could possibly argue that when they canceled the event almost a year before it was scheduled to take place. Would love to receive a refund, but hopefully my experience will at least help prevent some other people from becoming victims.Customer Answer

On 9-14-24 I spent $101.48 and purchased a ticket to the 2025 Pittsburgh Tough Mudder Event.Last week I received an email from Tough Mudder saying they canceled the event. When I asked for a refund I was told I can't receive one. Instead of a full refund, they offered me the chance to register for another event. I signed up for the Pittsburgh event and can't attend another one, nor do I want to. I attached a copy of my invoice below.I was told that I needed to cancel within 48 hours of purchase to get my refund. They didn't announce they were canceling within that time frame. Purchased tickets for my wife and I to run in a Tough Mudder event in **. Tough Mudder canceled due to:A combination of logistic and delivery setbacks outside our control made it unlikely that we would be able to deliver a satisfactory event this fall in the Carolinas; therefore were saddened to let you know that we have decided to cancel the Tough Mudder Carolinas event. I paid a combined total of $208.20 for the tickets on 5/8/2022. Tough Mudder allowed a refund option which I requested on 6/9/2022. Tough Mudder advised money was to refunded within ***** days. I had to follow up with them 5 times via e-mail and they then refunded me $91.75 on 8/19. Note that this isn't even the price of one ticket. They then researched the matter further and said my wife didn't request a refund though the tickets were purchased together from my credit card account. They are saying we are now beyond the date to request a refund and not allowing me to get a refund on the total $208.20 but allowing me the option to run in another race or use that money at their online store.I find this to be completely unreasonable since it was canceled at their discretion and I completed the necessary forms to be refunded the entire amount of the tickets.Customer Answer
