Boardsi contacted me through ******** on July 22nd 2025 and I had a call with them on August 1st to join their platform where I paid 395$ ( 200$ initiation fee + 1 month subscription). During that call they told me that I will have a follow up call with their onboarding team so they create my profile and give me access to their platform where I can search for open positions, and that only then i will be charged the monthly subscription. On August 8th I had the onboarding meeting and was told that it takes up to 10 days to set up my profile and get access to the platform. Its September 1st and I still dont have access to the platform. I have been emailing Boardsis customer service as well as the folks that did my onboarding and have not received any response. I have also asked them to cancel my membership but without a response. Today September 1st I got charged another 195$ for the monthly subscription.Boardsi is a complete SCAM they dont provide any service and do not allow you to cancel

    Hi ******,

Thank you for your feedback. We wanted to reach out directly here as you were a member for less than two months. Landing a board role is not an overnight process which is why we always set expectations prior to onboarding. Average traction time on the platform takes three to six months. We went back through your interaction with our first representative and can confirm that he was indeed able to explain to you that he would be charging the card. We also went back through your interaction with our onboarding specialist and confirmed that he let you know you would receive login credentials within five business days of that onboarding call. Furthermore, we can confirm that you were sent your login credentials on August 13th which was three business days after your onboarding call. Our representative reached out to you directly as soon as we received your cancellation request and will consider this matter closed. Thank you!

I was called last Friday 8/22/25 and had the program explained to me. Not being sure whether I wanted to participate, I tentatively agreed to explore it further. The representative took my credit card information and charged my account $200 startup fee and $195 monthly membership. I was told about these fees but was not told the monthly fee would be immediately charged. I have called back twice, Once on Friday and again today (8/26) and left a message that I do not want to participate and would like a full refund. I have also emailed them on 8/22 and asked that my enrollment be cancelled. All three of those contacts requesting cancellation fall within the 3 day cooling off period for cancellation of contracts recognized by ** (my residence), ** (where I was called from) and NV where the company is ******** date none of my calls or emails have been responded to and I have not received a refund. Incidentally, I was also told that I would receive emails with access to the web site as well as to schedule an on-boarding, neither of which have been received to date, which in my opinion also constitutes a breach.

omplaint Against Boardsi - ******************* Practices Date: August 9-19, 2025 ******* **** from Boardsi contacted me via LinkedIn claiming: "Your background matches some of our paid board and advisory positions that we have been retained to do a search for and present candidates to." He provided a scheduling link for discussion.Deceptive Practices:Hidden Fees: No upfront disclosure that candidates pay ~$200 for platform access False Representation: Claimed to be "retained" by employers (standard recruitment model where employers pay), but actually charges candidates Misleading Matching Claims: No evidence of actual matching positions as claimed Unprofessional Conduct:Called 20 minutes late without apology Call was sales pitch, not discussion of specific opportunities as promised Issue: In legitimate executive recruitment, employers pay search firms, not candidates. Boardsi's approach misleads professionals by:Claiming specific matching opportunities exist Hiding fee structure until sales call Misrepresenting their service model Resolution Sought:Clear fee disclosure in initial communications Accurate representation of candidate-pays model Improved professional standards This deceptive marketing wastes professionals' time and creates false expectations about legitimate board opportunities. I have screenshot evidence of the misleading LinkedIn outreach.

    Hi *******,

Thank you for your feedback. It is important to note that while Boardsi is the largest platform of board opportunities in the world, landing a board role is not an overnight process. Since you were a member for only 3 months you were actually just entering peak traction time on the platform. Average traction time is 3-6 months on the platform which is why we always set expectations prior to onboarding any new client. We had our representative reach out to you directly and will consider this matter closed. Thank you!

Boardsi committed to supporting my search for board member positions with small and mid-sized companies. As part of this I was charged several fees up front and an ongoing "membership" fee. The company has done nothing to support my search and has not delivered any of the committed opportunities for which I paid. In addition, the company does not offer any options to cancel memberships or even request refunds. This is clearly nefarious and I should be given the full refunds which I am owed.

    Hi *****,

Thank you for your feedback. Since you were a member for only 3 months we wanted to reach out to you here directly as well. It is important to note that landing a board role is not an overnight process. This is why we always set expectations before anyone comes onboard as a member. Traction time on the platform takes on average 3-6 months. We can also see that our team was very busy on the back end getting your profile in front of multiple companies to generate that traction for you. Our cancellation process is straightforward and can be seen in our terms and conditions as well as just by calling us or emailing us 3 days prior to your next billing date. We had our representative reach out to you directly and will consider this matter closed. Thank you!

I took a sales call with BoardSI in June, 2025. During that call I had a conversation about my skillset and expectations for the types of roles and board positions I'd likely be a good fit for. I was told that I was a good match for the service and was onboarded for $395 w/ a $195 monthly charge. I was told me that they would onboard me and create a profile for me; in that process they asked for some information. It was provided and they produced a completely unacceptable profile with run on sentences, inconsistent formatting, etc. It was unprofessional and frankly shoddy. Worse, the platform itself doesn't have the bare minimum formatting tools you'd expect to advertise "board-level" professional services that you would expect.Worse upon getting access to the platform, I started looking at the roles available and the vast majority were for tiny startups looking for VC connections, business contacts, etc. That all makes sense. That also is nothing like my profile or the type of board positions I described I was ********** take is that my professional profile wasn't fairly evaluated as a true match to their service. I have little confidence I would find a suitable role on this platform in any timely manner. For a professional match making service that seems like a big miss to me and looking at comparable complaints of this service this seems to be a theme for them.

I was not told that I would be charged a setup fee and the first months premium before I ever got to talk to someone and see what I was signing up for. I had a 5 min. call to introduce myself and they told me your a fit. They proceeded to tell me that to setup a kickoff call they needed some personal info and a credit card to have on file for premium charges. I wish I could say this wasnt a scam but it sure feels like I have been scammed.

Boardsi reached out to me in February 2025. We scheduled a call. The representative, **** ******, promised me that given my experience, being on the board of a company that IPO'd, I would immediately have several offers from the companies that they serve. He said positions paid anywhere between $20K to $100K/year. I signed up in May, and they charged my card before anything happened, before any service was provided. I was 'interviewed' by ****** *******. The output of that interview was unprofessional, with run-on sentences, improper punctuation, etc. I didn't hear anything from Boardsi after that, so I tried to log into their system to see any indication of status. I saw only 3 companies seeking board members, but there was no way for me to contact them or apply for a board position. I contacted the Boardsi support, and I was told it was a bug in the system that I was able to see any of the companies at all, and that I would have to trust them to position me to the companies. They said they reached out to 11 companies on my behalf and hadn't heard back, and I would just have to wait. There is no transparency in this process, and no results, despite some pretty significant promises they made up front. All evidence points to Boardsi being a scam.

I was contacted several times by Boardsi via ******** with an invitation to help me find a Board position. During the initial call in Dec., I was assured a large percentage of their applicants successfully land Board positions and many get several positions. I asked about the need for people w/ my skillset before I signed up, they assured me they worked with a number of clients from my niche and in fact they needed more like me. I have not received a single inquiry from 1 of their clients. One client of interest from the Opportunities list I applied for had been out of business for 4 months! Looking at this clients location on the list, I suspect many were beyond dusty. Voicing concern, I was assured they were working in my behalf and had submitted me to >40 unnamed clients, several were currently evaluating my information. My next update in March, as I was not a happy camper, it was agreed they would not bill me for April. I was told they had again sent my credentials to many unspecified clients and were still waiting results. Fast forward to May 5 and still nothing. I was told that a number of unnamed clients were still evaluating my suitability so they would "pause" my membership which would allow me to monitor the status of these unknown submissions. Now at the end of June and still nothing! During this ordeal, Boardsi had many issues with their software which made editing, updating and getting the promised profiles into a presentable finished product...they still look like a work in progress. I also noticed there were very few of the promised Board positions available. Most roles are for Advisors which pay much less. To top it off, as a member, I have been contacted 5 times by Boardsi via ******** and they are looking for candidates just like me for Board positions they currently need to fill. Thankfully, because of the concern I voiced to Boardsi during this waste, I am only out $785, which I would back, but I am assuming this will be written off as bad debt.

    Hi *****,

Thank you for the feedback. Boardsi is indeed the largest platform of compensated board work in the world. Unfortunately , landing a board role is not an overnight process. Average traction time on the platform is 3-6 months. It is important to keep in mind these are the averages and in some instances it can happen sooner than that time frame and in other instances it can be longer than that time frame. We had our representative reach out to you directly and will consider this matter closed. Thank you!

I have repeatedly asked Boardsi to cancel my subscription. I don't recall ever using this subscription AND I've been in active cancer treatment for the last 2 years. They continue to post charges against my credit card. I keep thinking that they will stop billing me and I'll get a credit but it never comes. I'm too sick to fight this but I also think they are not ethically managing my request to stop my account I'd just like them to credit me back to the last time I logged into whatever account I have. (Other businesses have done this when they realized I've had cancer surgery, radiation and a two year battle for my life. )I'm not being too fussy but they know I want to stop my account and I can't get them to stop it.
