I am attempting to remove my information from the data broker Veripages. When you go to their sight there are links to the removal page however none of the links work. If you try and type in the URL for their request for removal page it redirects you to their main page. It's my understanding that I should be able to request my information be removed, it's very concerning that they present a false option to remove it but then don't provide anywhere on their site to remove it. I even used their chat bot on site which has an option about requesting removal of information. However the links provided by their help chat also don't work. This in my opinion is incredibly deceptive.Business Response

I followed the website's direction for removal of my personal information as stated in their instructions. To complete the removal you must verify the removal by clicking on a email link they send to your email address. The instructions say check your spam folder for email. I have used two emails in attempts to remove and they are simply blocking attempts for removal by simply not sending an email. I am a NY resident and will be contacting the state of NY to see if this is violating my data rights as a NY Resident. I have demanded the immediate and permanent removal of my personal information from this website, *************. Despite repeated attempts to have this data removed, my personal details—including my full name, date of birth, age, cell number and current and prior addresses continue to be published on the site, posing an ongoing privacy and safety threat. I contacted this business multiple time to remove my information off there website. As a Virginia Resident I am protected from having my information shared online without my consent. The California Delete Act is a state law that gives California residents the right to request the deletion of their personal information from data brokers. The bill also requires data brokers to register and be subject to penalties if they don't comply. Requiring to honor deletion requests and take appropriate measures to protect consumers' privacy. Opted out utilizing veripages.com tool online, however my information along with my parents information continues to remain publicly accessible. Contacted Veripages requesting a follow up, however a proper follow through and/or resolution was not provided. In this consumer complaint, you will find my email correspondence with their removal/support team. When submitting a request for removal, a canned response is given without addressing the removal. Contacted their corporate line at (844) 217-0978, which went unanswered. The widespread practice of data brokering has raised significant privacy concerns as individuals often have little control over how their personal information is collected and used which can result in identity theft. This company is a "bad faith data broker" engaging in deceptive and unethical practices regarding the removal process prioritizing profit over user privacy. I have not authorized veripages and their affiliates from collecting, selling personal data and retaining my information including but not limited to my parents. - My Information - Father Information - Mother Information Requesting for a speedy resolution.
