I ordered a remanufactured transmission and was given a timeframe for delivery. After going beyond the promised shipping date with no parts yet obtained and not progress on producing the transmission I submitted a written order cancellation and request for refund. Was told a check would be mailed on Saturday August 30 and as of Monday Sept. no check arrived and no incoming mail from Toms River Transmissions on my dashboard. I requested in an email that either a check be overnighted to me or proof of shipping with a tracking number arrive by Wednesday Sept. 10 or I would be filing a complaint and a case with small claims court in the district of his business.Initial Complaint

I paid **** ***** Transmissions/Mr John R. $1658.50 by ****** on 28 April 2025 for a rebuilt Ford F150 transmission. Excuses and stonewalling led me to cancel the order and request a refund on 12 June 2025. On 27 June 2025, Mr R. told me via email that the check was being sent to me that day. As of 25 August, in spite of persistent follow up by me, no check has been received and Mr R.ceased responding to my emails on 28 July 2025. I have filed a complaint with the NJ Consumer Affairs Office and the **** **** Police Department locally to New Jersey, and filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission since I am a disabled combat Veteran living in *****. I understand from ******* research that **** ***** Transmissions is either an extremely incompetent honest business or a fraud and theft operation. They attract customers with a price that is somewhat below other venders and then fail to provide a product and then fail to refund canceled purchases.Initial Complaint

I purchased a transmission from them on 2-4-2025 for the price of $1605.00. On 5-25-25 I cancelled the order because certain parts were in “back order” or they received the “wrong” parts, and I couldn’t wait any longer. On 6-11-25 they claimed to have mailed a refund check and after weeks of not receiving it I emailed back for a check with a tracking number. Today is 8-25-25 and I have still yet to receive a check or a tracking number after keeping in contact every single week since. On Thursday Dec ******* I ordered a rebuilt transmission from ***** River Transmission.. I paid with an electronic check from my account at ***************. The money was deducted from my account on Dec *******. The amount of the transaction was $1337.50. My sole contact with the company is with someone who identifies themselves as **** The breakdown of the$1337.50 price is as follows:$1000 4L60E transmission $250 upgraded torque converter $87.50 7% tax Throughout Jan,Feb and March 2025 I had ongoing communication with **** concerning the status of my order. I was told he was waiting on parts. Then around the first of March he said the transmission was complete and ready for shipping. After a week or so had passed I contacted him and I was told he was waiting on the truck to pick it up. After two more weeks I contacted him and asked for the contact info of the freight company. If he wouldn't provide this info then I told him I felt a refund was due. He immediately agreed to refunding my money. On March ******* I text him and told him I had not received a check. He replied and stated that he checked and it went out March 4th. On March 26th I told him I had not received it. On March 27th he said he would stop payment on that check and send another from PO with tracking. On March 29th he stated that he would check with his bank to make sure it hadn't been cashed and put stop payment on it and send another one. This was the last communication I've had with him. As of today May 1st,2025 I have received neither a refund check nor a transmission from this company.Business Response

Ordered a transmission and was given the run around about waiting for parts while the parts were readily available on line. Seems like this business has had multiple complaints of the same kind and it is a wonder that they haven’t been shut down for fraud. Asked to cancel my order and it has been a month with no refund. Been told the check is in the mail, mail is not that slow and have never received any check. Ordered the same transmission from a reputable dealer and had it in three days.
Just want my refund and to put this whole ordeal behind me.Business Response

In November of 2023 I ordered a transmission mission from ** after the alotted build time the transmission was never delivered so I started the refund process and was told a refund check would be mailed to the address on the check that was used as payment as of 2 15 2025 I still have not received my refund every time I ask for it I am told checks inches mail or I haven't had time or I already sent it I will have to check with the bank and see what happened or I have been realy busy I will send it out tomorrow.Business Response

Ordered a remanufactured transmission from this company on 3/26/24. Company could not deliver transmission due to not getting parts. Company kept telling me can't get parts and last fall said he would return money. Company did they would mail a check. It is January and no check has showed up. At current 206 days since refund was requested no refund received. As slow as the **** can be at times, it does not take 206 days to deliver a mail piece. No tracking number on a check over $1k is **** at best. You *** are a liar and fraud. You refuse overright delivery at my expense.
