      I’ve had a term life insurance policy for 17 years, I am currently in an ALF and need extra money to support my living.
      So I called to surrender policy and cash it out.
      I have done this with all my life insurance policies and received their checks within 7-10.
      NOT Mutual of Omaha!!!!
      I was told 10-15 days I would receive my check.
      Well, I keep calling and told it’s being processed, then check was placed in mail, and it’s now 23 days and still no check.
      When you call the 800 number you are routed to individuals who are working from home and they sound as if I woke them up from a nap!!!!
      Arrogant and condescending about reviewing my claim.
      Please do yourself a favor and buy a policy from Colonial Penn, AARP or Aaa. They have all processed my claims within a timely manner!!!
      Holding my breath for this check!!

      I placed a loan on a policy on July 24, 2023. On July 27, 2023 I received an email stating that I needed to resubmit it due to an error on the loan application. I resubmitted it and when I didn't hear back. As of August 15, 2023 we have not received any check and I am responsible for a loan. I call Mutual of Omaha I get a different excuse each time about the check being in transit, being told to wait until Friday to do a stop payment and today that they had "weather" in the midwest which may have caused a delay in the mail. I have paid on this policy faithfully every month and do not understand why the check has not been sent and it is almost one month. If something happens to my father, who is insured, I do not trust that this company will pay. Total crap!

      We have a whole life insurance policy with Mutual of Omaha. We have had this policy for 33 years. Premuim has always been paid . In June 2023 received a letter stating that a payment of 354.81 would have to be paid by July 2, 2023 in order for policy to be effective.
      Payment had been increased due to insufficient funds for cost of coverage.
      Payment was mailed on 6/25/2023 by regular mail. Received a letter from Mutal of Omaha dated August 1, 2023 that payment was outside of grace period. Check was destroyed and would not be returned. Policy would terminate without any cash value.
      I contacted Customer Service after receiving the letter stating that payment was received outside of the grace period. a reinstatement would have to be completed in order for coverage to continue. Customer Service advised me that yes it was cancelled payment was not processed until July 11 (after the July 2nd date) I discussed in length that I did not think this was fair. We had this policy for 33 years and no late payments . I personally cannot have any control of when payment is processed by Mutual of Omaha. My husband and I feel the reason for cancellation is not necessariy because of the processing date. It is due to the age of my husband ( age 72)
      I contacted Mutual of Omaha again on August 11, 2023 ask to speak to a supervisor or Manager. I talked to Erin advised her of the situation. She put me on hold and said she discussed with someone else. She came back with same answer it would not be reinstated. We do not feel that we should do the reinstatement application ( which I sure because of age and medical ) it will not be reinstated. Since it was not processed until July 11, 2023 by Mutual of Omaha and I mailed payment in a timely manner The policy should be reinstated with filing out the reinstatement application with us sending payment again that would be required.

      Loss my spouse of 37 yrs end of June. Put in claim July 10. They processed the claim, called me back and stated the amount, etc within 48 hrs. Check was mailed July 13. Said I should receive by 7.28 and did not. Called back they stated they had 15 business days...I would not receive until 8.4. It is 8.11 and have not received. Called the state of Insurance dept for guidance, they suggested I get a tracking number for the package. I called back and asked mutual of omaha Customer service for tracking number. They seemed surprised and said what tracking number? you do not get a tracking number...it is put in regular mail. So I asked if I could have the check cancelled and reissued that will take processing time and an additional 15 business days...I asked if I could pay for overnight delivery, they said no. A check that large should not just be tossed in snail mail with no regards for the person on the other end that could have small children and be depending on those funds to pick up the pieces of their life. SHAME ON You, for your cold customer reps that answer like they are being bothered and they sound annoyed. This must happen often to have someone give that energy to the unknowing person on the other end. I told them I will wait thru the weekend and have it reissued on Monday if it is not received.

      I think they try to hold out on customers. POOR RATING! They paid dentist for extraction but I'm still waiting on my reimbursement for dentures. MUTUAL IS THE WORST INSURANCE EVER!

      I signed up with this business for Medicare. The representative was a fast talker and difficult to understand. After signing up, I needed a additional coverage for vision and dental and when I called my original representative, he said he didn't handle this service. I called for a different representative and received an email, telling me to look online for services (which I didn't need someone to tell me to look online for service) I wanted help in choosing what was best for my situation. I began paying $65 a month and when I called for coverage information, I was told effective June 2023, my extended coverage would go into effect. Also the dentist checked and told me the same answer. I had a crown put in on June 14th and they did't pay. Now they tell me this coverage is not in effect until July 1st. Calling is unhelpful and this is a waste of cash. A cleaning is $90 twice a year and my dentist offers a 2nd cleaning free as a regular patient. And I just paid $780 for a years worth of nothing. When I went to the eye doctor, they said they didn't accept this company for eye exams. This company is not worth my money, I will be changing as soon as the eligible time is available.

      THIS COMPANY IS RIP OFF AND STEALS. I WAS THE BENEFICIARY AND THE EXECUTOR OF MY MOM ACCOUNT. I PAID MY MOM PREMIUM UP UNTIL NOVEMBER 2023. MY MOM PASSED THE END OF MAY. WHEN I CALLED TO FIND OUT ABOUT THE OVER PAYMENT ON PREMIUM, I WAS FIRST TOLD IT WILL ADDED TO THE PAY OUT AMOUNT. IT WAS NOT. I CALLED THE SECOND TIME, TO FIND OUT WHEN THE OVER PAYMENT ON PREMIUM WILL BE SENT BACK TO ME. I WAS THEN TOLD I WILL GET IT IN 2-3 WEEKS. I WAITED OVER A MONTH AND STILL NOTHING. I CALLED THE 3RD TIME; I WAS THEN TOLD IT WAS BEING PROCESSED. LATER THAT DAY I GET A CALL BACK FROM SOME, LADY TELLING ME THAT MY OVER PAYMENT OF $170.00 DOLLAR WILL NOT BE RETURN ME. THIS PLACE STEALS MONEY THAT THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE. THIS IS A RIP OFF COMPANY. THEY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN, AND NOT ALLOWED TO DO ANY BUSINESS AT ALL. THEY ARE NOT HONEST! I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS PLACE EVER AGAIN. NOT EVEN FOR MYSELF! I AM TELLING EVERYONE I KNOW AND DON'T KNOW THAT WILL LISTEN, TO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY, TO HOW THEY STOLED MY MONEY. EVERYONE NEEDS TO FIND A LEGIT COMPANY THAT IS HONEST AND NOT STEALING MONEY.

      I tried from June 23rd to jul 12th to. Get a loan from my policy. They told me to sign the paperwork and send. It back. After 5 days of constantly sending signature page the finally told me to send the entire thing they sent. Me back. I finally. Faxed stm ashing for loan. They said they. Processed the ck and would send it to me in mail. I asked them could they deposit it in my account and they said I would have to set. Up my account for auto deductions of my payment, I did that then they said me address had changed. I said I didn't change I have lived here for 3.yrs. they. Messed. My address up not me all it was is they. Had my bldg letter on it instead of unit. I've had problems with them before. It's like bad business for sure.

      Bait-and-switch
      Mutual of Omaha did a bait-and-switch routine on me when I was looking to purchase Long-Term Care Insurance. I had an initial quote that was reasonable and then they cited a very minor medical condition that up to 85% of the population has to force me into a “select” plan which is much more expensive. Don’t waste your time with this company and read some of the other nightmare stories below.

      Terrible. I received a letter telling me I needed to pay a different amount so I called and the agent told me that it was a mistake and I didn’t need to make an extra payment that all I needed to do was increase my monthly payment and all would be fine. Left me without life insurance and they won’t correct their mistake . Dishonest and won’t accept responsibility on their end. Don’t trust them at all. Phone recordings and records support me the client but they refuse to change their decision.
