      My son had his truck towed by this company on ***. Nov 1, 2025 due to parking in a lot requiring a permit. We were told by the apartment complex that Swain Collision is who they use for towing. I looked them up online at *********************************************** and tried to call them Saturday night and Sunday but the number provided on the website was out of order ****************). I noticed that there website states they are closed on Saturday and Sundays so I didn't even bother going to the lot. I also couldn't find a working phone number for them until Monday morning. When I finally found a correct number, we were told we would not only be charged ****** for towing the truck 6 miles (according to ******) but an extra ***** for an impound fee. They said the charge was keeping it another day on Sunday. I explained that the website stated they weren't open on Sunday. It didn't matter. You have to pay what they want or you can't get your vehicle. We also almost didn't find this business because the sign is for Valley Towing and not Swain Collision. The trucks just say Swain Collision. This is predatory practices targeting college students. All I wanted was the money back from the impound fee since the website stated they were closed on weekends. Very deceptive. There are many reviews for this company as well as Valley Towing as they are also known with people having similar experiences.

      We were not provided a receipt for the tow but I can try to get one sent to me if the gentleman doesn't hang up on me again. The phone number that finally worked was ************

      We are sorry about your bad experience. The phone number is posted on the SIGNS that are POSTED at each complex where we tow. 

      Has been this way for years now. The number can also be found on the internet along with our address where the phone number is also posted on front door.

      Swain Collision and Valley Towing are maybe 1 minute down the road from each other. We are sorry your son parked illegally. Unfortunately, there are rules to 

      follow when living/visiting these complexes. We are simply "following the rules of our job" as should the students/visitors of this complex follow their rules and guidelines for parking.

      We hope you never have another bad experience with us, we do apologize that you couldn't locate our correct number, but we will be more than happy to provide it for you for the future.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      I was not looking at the signs posted in the parking lot  so I did not see the correct phone number. I was looking online for the phone number and the website online has a different number listed as well as stating that Swain Collision is closed on Saturday and Sunday therefore we waited until Monday to find the truck.  If you read the online reviews you will see I am not the only one that had difficulty finding the correct number online. I didn't say my son shouldn't be responsible for parking there and paying that fee but I was asking for ***** and to not be charged the extra impound fee of ***** since we were going by your hours as stated online that also had an incorrect number.

      That has never been our number, and we have no idea how that number is even listed.

      The first # listed is the number for our ******** office which you are more than welcome to contact anytime and get the correct #.

      Also, below that is the correct # and address for Swain Collision in sylva. My point of telling you that our number is listed on the 

      signs are your son could have passed that information to you in order for you to contact us!! Also, we are not closed on Saturday

      and Sunday. We have customers come and pick their vehicles up both days. I apologize that someone has false advertising about our business

      on the internet. Unfortunately, there isn't much we can do about that.   We hope you don't have another experience like this with us but for future

      reference I will include all of our information below.

      towed on 9/2/25, paid on 9/3/25 I asked for an itemized invoice which was refused. Cash was demanded. receipt refused

      My son was visiting a friend at *** today 12/31/24. It is a 2 hr drive from our home in **. When he arrived, he ran inside to use the restroom real quick. He came back out to move his car and a Swain Tow Truck had already hooked his car up. 5 min....yes 5 min he was inside. Long enough to pee. The drive would not release is car unless he paid $250.00. With no other option, my son tried to pay the $250 with his debit card but amazingly enough the driver's card reader would not work. My son had to walk a mile to a local ATM while the driver held his car hostage. My son paid the driver $250 cash and guess what no receipt. was given. 5 min for $250.00. This company is running scams or either their drivers are pocketing money. Check the parent *** webpage. This happens several times a day from this company. $250.00 for 5 minutes of peeng.

      Dear ma'am,

      I'm sorry you feel this way about our business. Anyone that lives or visits at these apartment complexes know the rules for each one. 

      There are also signs posted at the beginning of each property. Our tow trucks are on call 24/7 and we also do call in. As in 

      if someone is parked in someone's spot that person calls it in, and we come pick it up! I'm sorry your son had his vehicle towed

      due to him going to the restroom. Whomever he was visiting most certainly should have told him about the "enforced towing"

      that has been done there for years now. We apologize for the driver if he seemed out of line. We hope you understand we are 

      a locally owned company trying to make a living like everyone else. There are rules and regulations that have to be followed and sometimes although

      we may not like these rules, we still have to abide by them.  Thank you for your understanding!
