    K&M Collision in *******, ** is a disreputable company preying on unsuspecting customers. We own a 2019 Audi Q7 with ****** miles. We got rear ended with no damage to the older *** who hit **. The ************** dealership recommended K&M for repairs. We were leaving town for a month and were going to deal with it when we got back. K&M (***********************) said they would pick it up for free and they have plenty of storage area and they could easily store it for us at no charge until we got back. The driver who picked up the vehicle said the same. After they had my car, they required me to sign and open ended form to pay all bills or they would not look at the vehicle. I complained and **** said ************* were to not pay ( as with all insurances medical, dental etc) you would be liable.... I have been here 7 years and not seen a customer come out of pocket unless they elected to. I hope that helps clarify some things.". K&M's estimate was $38,964.96. Allstates was $12,848.49. I was told they could not reach an agreement. K&M would not release my car until I paid $6,833.84 including over 40 days of storage at $75 / day, and a $726.50 "free" tow. K&M are committing highway robbery and extortion. I would not buy another Audi or use the dealership in *********, **.

    We appreciate the opportunity to address the concerns raised by ****************** regarding his experience with K&M Collision in *******, **. We take all feedback seriously and would like to provide clarification on the situation.

    Repair Contract and Charges: ****************** signed a repair contract upon the vehicle's arrival at our facility. This contract clearly outlined the potential charges, including storage fees, that would apply if he elected to move his vehicle before the repairs were completed. These terms were explained to ****************** at the time, ensuring that he was fully aware of the costs associated with storing and repairing his vehicle.

    Insurance Coverage: Regarding the discrepancy between our estimate and Allstate's initial estimate, it is important to note that the final charges were agreed upon by Allstate, with the exception of $250, which is for charges routinely covered by other insurance companies. Ultimately, K & M Collision has a contract with ****************** and not with any insurance carrier as we do not control what is or isn't covered.  

    Storage Fees and Towing: While we store the vehicle free of charge on repairable vehicles, the situation evolved when there was a disagreement between the estimates provided by Allstate and K&M. As outlined in the signed contract, storage fees began accruing after a certain period, and these charges were necessary to cover the costs associated with keeping the vehicle on our premises. Additionally, the towing charge was not part of the free storage offer but was a separate service provided to facilitate the repair process. Please see section 6 of the contract. 

    We are committed to transparency and fairness in all our dealings and regret that ****************** feels otherwise. We stand by our work and the processes we have in place to ensure that vehicles are repaired to the highest standard.

    We are more than willing to discuss them directly to ensure that all parties are satisfied with the resolution.
