On Sunday September, 7th, I went to ************** and parked my car in the Allegience parking lot, as all of the retail spaces were filled and the Allegience property is closed on the weekend. Within 20 minutes I discovered two boots on my car initiated by Wheel Blockers ********************************* I immediately called the number shown on the ticket and was informed that someone would be on their way to detach the boots from my car. After an hour and a half and several phone calls later, a Wheel Blockers employee arrived and informed us that the boot removal would cost $275. The sign in front of my car displayed pricing as follows: Towing $250.00, Booting $125.00. When inquired about the price discrepancy, the employee stated to read the sign, youre not reading it right. After investigating the sign himself, the employee stated that the sign was faced the wrong way. He showed me the back of the sign that displayed boot removal pricing as $250.00, and stated that both signs were indeed wrong and that they would need to be replaced. In order to pay card, the employee stated that a picture of my drivers license recorded on his cell phone would be required. He sensed my hesitation and offered to lower the price to $220 if paid with cash. I inquired for his name after our interaction, in which he responded Whats your name,****? Overall, the employee was incredibly impolite, unprofessional, and disrespectful: its clear that Wheel Blockers is a predatory company with mislabeled signage throughout the city of *********.

I understand you wanting to point the blame on us for you being illegally parked. As you stated the lot was full where you were going so you chose to park there. Also as you stated all the other signs had the correct pricing so it wouldnt make sense for us to have only one that wasnt correct. Someone removed the sticker evidently with the current fees. Again all the other signs had the correct fees. As far as showing your ID that is our company requirement if you choose to pay by card. You could have easily went next door to the *** and paid cash if you felt uncomfortable. We apologize for any inconvenience but please respect others property and not park on their lot if you are not a client or customer.

I parked at *************************** on August 17. Made a purchase at the pet store in the shopping center. Wheel blockers booted my car when I crossed the street for a few minutes and came back. The parking sign says parking is for customers, which I am. I was entitled to park in that parking lot.

      Business Response

      Date: 08/27/2025

Unfortunately as you stated you left the property to go elsewhere. Parking is only for this property only. Once you left the property to go elsewhere you were no longer a customer and not entitled to leave your vehicle on premises. Parking is very limited and moving forward please follow the parking rules to avoid being booted and kindly move if you plan on leaving the premises to avoid this situation.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 08/28/2025

I am rejecting this response because:

The sign in the parking lot states parking is for customers.  Leaving the parking lot for 10 minutes does not make me less of a customer.

      Thank you.

      Business Response

The signs all 17 or more clearly state Pecan Point Customer Parking Only. Once you left the property to go elsewhere regardless of the time you were no longer a customer. Parking is very limited so please be mindful of that and respect others as they need a space to park in as well.

Again, I was a customer.  Crossing the street for 10 minutes does not make me less of a customer.  I was in compliance with the signs.

Thank you for being respectful of my parking.

Tried towing my car in a space I was allowed to park in, THEY KNEW THEY COULDNT TOW MY CAR SO THEY WAITED WITH IT UP UNTIL I CAME THERE TO CHARGE ME $300. Told me they knew they couldnt tow my car but wouldnt let it down without payment.

Unfortunately you had to be in violation for the tow truck to be hooked up to your vehicle. We got have easily booted the vehicle as well as towed. Please pay attention to the towing signs and follow the parking rules for that property to avoid your vehicle being booted or towed.

July 12th, 2025. Wheel blockers at 7pm arrived in parking lot randomly booting and towing vehicles. Mine was one of these. My name is on the lease at the address here. I have lived here for over 12 months with zero issues. To then be met with the most rude and vile human being stating that I am parked illegally in my own parking lot. He then claims he patrols every week, and that if it hasnt been towed or booted then it couldnt have been violating anything. My car has barely moved this entire time with zero changes. They also booted several vehicles simply to come back quickly to tow away. No booting and waiting a day or two before tow. They booted it to lock t down while they made round trips to steal cars. I was charged 275 for boot removal. While being told earlier that very same evening that the charge was 200. The man increased the price because he didnt seem to like me. Unprofessional practices. Thievery and taking advantage of the residents in this particular lot. Reminder this began occurring at 7pm. The tow window is well after that. As stated in their hidden signs.

      Business Response

      Date: 08/27/2025

Unfortunately you had to have been in violation to have been booted. A vehicle can be booted or towed. There is no window period. The fees are consistent and posted on all signage at the property as well. Please make sure to follow all parking rules moving forward to avoid being booted or towed.

I am rejecting this response because:
The man in question who booted my vehicle did so without paying attention.

Lied about the fact that I wasnt in proper accordance with parking.

He is also known to lie and extort people. There is photo evidence as well as proof of this. Same driver who did it to me. As well as flees the scene when confronted about the extortion lies, as well as the concealed weapon he carried.

In my case the cops were called after he became aggressive and attempting provoking escalation of the situation.

      Business Response

Our employees have no reason to be upset or threaten anyone. Its usually the other way around and they become threatened by someone like yourself whos upset they got booted or towed for their mistake of illegally parking. Signs are posted stating the parking rules and fees for violators. Please follow those rules moving forward.

This happened 7/9/25 at around 8:45pm. I live in a community that uses Wheel Blockers for towing enforcement with permission to only tow if the vehicle has been sitting for 48 hours, the tags are dead, or the vehicle is inoperable. I caught Wheel Blockers hooking up to my 2004 Van and crushing the bumper into the curb. When I stopped them, they claimed my tags were dead and tried to make me pay a drop fee. The tags were good until the end of July, and when I showed them the unobstructed tag the driver attempted to peel the registration sticker off the plate (a federal offense.) They cracked the bumper of my vehicle and a replacement without labor is $160. This is attempted auto theft because there was nothing about my vehicle that violated any part of the contract my community has with Wheel Blockers. I'm glad I was home to stop them, but they need to learn how to read numbers.

      Business Response

      Date: 07/17/2025

Your vehicle had two stickers on your tag that was misleading according to our drivers. Not sure how we damaged your bumper when our truck only attaches to your tires. You made no note or called our office at that time either and its very hard to obtain the facts several weeks later especially when our truck never left with your vehicle.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 07/17/2025

I am rejecting this response because:
I submitted the complaint the following morning after the attempted tow, not "weeks after". There was a second tag to show previous years registration, but there was nothing misleading about the current years registration sticker plainly displayed. The vehicle was backed up to the curb in a parallel parking spot, the tow truck crushed the rear bumper into the curb when it lifted the front end. I called the following morning, 7/10/25, at 7:04am and asked for someone in charge. The man who answered said "We don't have that" and hung up on me. I called a total of 17 times over the next minute or two after that and he hung up every time without answering my call. Extremely unprofessional and rude.

I had parked a lot with no signs nearby. I went to an establishment in the lot. I came back and my car had a boot. I asked why and the man was very rude and said its only parking for the businesses in that lot. I explained that I had gone to a business in that lot and he said we cant read minds. His name was *** and he said I had to pay or he wouldnt take the boot off. I paid $250. I would like an explanation and refund if possible. I didnt do anything against the rules.

      Business Response

Not sure which lot you parked in but either you left your vehicle on the lot and went elsewhere or you were parked in a marked *********. Signs are posted at all locations stating the parking rules and you had to be in violation to have been booted. We apologize for any inconvenience.

I am rejecting this response because:
I walked into an establishment on the premises. The employee spoke in a way that led me to believe he may not have very high morals. Not to mention this company has had many complaints to this effect. Im a small young woman and I find it extremely convenient that the lot was busy and grown men that went into the same place didnt get booted. I also find it disappointing that the employee told me there was nothing I can do if I felt targeted and if he was wrong it didnt matter he cant read minds.

I am a frequent customer of the shopping center at ******* and Pecan as I live in the neighborhood, I have been frequency these businesses for 20 years. On Sunday, I parked my car and when I got back, there was a boot on it in the man demanded $275 to remove the boot. He stated he watched me walk away. He could have given a warning before booting. This is a scam and predatory practice. Almost every car the parking lot had a boot. I am an actual customer of the shopping center and Jersey Mikes will vouch for me because I complain to them and they said that they cantdo anything about it either. The businesses in the shopping center do not want all of their customers to have to pay $275 every time they come to the business. This cannot be legal to just boot every car and demand immediate payment. This is extortion this should be illegal.

      Business Response

      Date: 08/27/2025

Unfortunately signs are posted throughout the lot stating the parking rules and fees. Once you leave the property you are not a customer and our staff has no way of knowing otherwise. Parking is very limited so please pay attention and follow the parking rules moving forward.

I am rejecting this response because:

There are over 17 signs in the parking lot that state the rules. It is not our responsibility to run you down to explain the rules and warn you not to park. Please respect others property and follow the parking rules posted to avoid putting yourself in that situation.

I was charged on 6/28/25 while parked legally at ************ (***********************************)I had just purchased food from the restaurant and was parked in their lot, a space clearly designated for customers. After eating in my car, I briefly returned to the restaurant to dispose of my trash in a nearby bin. When I returned (less than two minutes later) I found a boot placed on my ********** no point was I in violation of any posted parking restrictions. I was actively patronizing the establishment, and my presence in the parking lot was entirely lawful. I paid the $225 boot removal fee in order to have the boot taken off, but I am seeking a full refund due to the boot being improperly applied.

      Business Response

We apologize for any inconvenience but you also left the property. Unfortunately due to the limited parking spaces and that being a high traffic area parking is for on site customers only. You cant leave the property at any time to go elsewhere or you are subject to be booted or towed.

On March 3, I went into a store for 10 minutes just to come out to my car having 2 boots on the tires. The parking lot (**************) hasnt been updated in years and there arent many clear lines in the parking lot that indicate the actual parking spaces. I was charged ****** to have the boots removed from my car. Wheel Blockers are illegally adding their signs to lots that they have not gained permission to service. When you ask who their contract is through, they never any accurate information.

You were either parked in handicap or the ********* to have been booted. We dont just put signs up at random spots as you insinuated as that would be illegal. We are contracted for any property that we service by the property owner or management and those are the rules they set in place. We apologize for inconvenience but we were only doing our job as directed.

On June 20, 2025, employee booted my vehicle without providing photo identification and without properly displaying identifying address on vehicle. Address of business is not located anywhere on vehicle. Per Sec. *****. - Booting service; fees section (b) ********************* vehicles shall be marked with the name and address of the booting service on each side of the vehicle in letters not less than three inches in height. I had no idea if this company was properly in business as the operator lacked customer service skills.
