This is the worst utility company I've used!! When I moved in the new house, they let me finished the identification verification form from notary then I can activate my service. I did it and submit the form through email. But waiting 2 days no one response and my gas was still inactive. I moved into the new house, no gas, I cannot cook and take the shower. I called the customers service and they said they never received my form???? It's ridiculous. I submitted again and waited for another day, still no one response. I call the customers service again and talked about my situation, the agent unexpectedly hang up my phone???I never meet such a rude company before. I've moved in my new house almost a week and still no gas. I cannot accept it. If I have choice of course I'll not choose this gas company!!!Review from JEANETTE F

Since 2022 Piedmont Gas have been charging me for 2 water heater plans (Essential ******************** Plan-$13.93); I did sign up for the Premium Plan. I have contacted Piedmont Gas 3 times in reference to this issue and on my last contact in Dec 2023; I asked for someone to please contact me to discuss the over charge and I wish to be repaid instead of a credit since I didn't credit them; I had to pay them. I would also like to know how much I will be paid (charges + state sales taxes) for the overcharge which they constantly made on my account. When I asked to be transferred to the department that would determine the amount due to me the lady said that it's not really a department, they just call it the back office. So then I asked if she could have someone from the back office contact me and she said no; they don't call they just do the credits to the account and we have to accept what they say. I asked how to contact the corporate office and she said she don't know how to contact the corporate office. I would like to be paid for the overcharge amounts. We are a ret military family and can't afford to be overcharged from 2022 till 2024. And that number 70*-36*-31** is not a working number.Review from Rebecca S

Been paying my bill through my bank's bill pay for years. Out of nowhere, they came up saying I was three months late. I contacted the bank and they could confirm that the two oldest were paid and cleared to Piedmont. The third was just paid but I paid it again over the phone to make sure they got it. Now, they say that I still owe the two other payments (even though the bank gave them reference numbers proving the got them). I was so fed up that I told them that they should have just shut it off and the worst customer service rep ever told me that they couldn't shut off service to anyone in TN due to tornados. I have not been affected by a tornado lately but that is a random fact you probably don't want just anyone to know. I pay my bills on time and in full and Piedmont is making that difficult.Review from Verina K

Gas bill jump after doing a review on company site and bill was the highest since I have had gas service. Understand we've had some cold weather in ** but to jump the way it did was ridiculous especially if I keep it set at 68Review from Ceira R

This company hands down is the worst customer centric and service ever!! My dad just moved in to a rental house 11/1/23 and wasn't told PNG was who the gas was through. One and half month later, the heat gets cut off when it's freezing outside and my dad, who IS DISABLED IS LAYING UP IN A FREEZING HOUSE ON BLOOD THINNERS and no one at PNG gives a damn!!. I called several times, he has called several times and I was told "no one can expedite this process unfortunately since someone has physically came and cut the gas off" I explained we did not know PNG was who we needed to go through and that No ******************* to the residence in his name, maybe the old resident name but we don't open anyone's mail we just sent it back. This is not right! Something can be done and PNG is not willing to help an old man sitting in a cold a** house because it's not one of their relatives. I wish there was another company we could go through because DUKE POWER would never do this to their clients. Shame on this company. Their employees lie saying" we called you several times and not one person has called to check in or do ANYTHING!!!!! I'm being told we need a form with a notary to even get the gas reinstated to the residence in his name. He can not drive!! How in h*** and what in the h*** Why does all this need to be done in order to have HEAT in the home! This is ridiculous!Review from Laura C

Spent an hour waiting on the phone December 2022 to get service hooked up to my house. Only to talk to someone that said, ok they will call you. Got a call in March of 2023. *** says. Well today is my last day but Ill forward your information on to the new person. I told them yes j want a contract just give it to me please. It is December 2023. 1 year! Still no contact from this gas company to get service. If this is a reflection of their operations I sure as heck dont want to sign up. That is ridiculous service when I literally want to give you my money.Review from Dee D

I have had an account with ********************** for almost 3 years. Piedmont did not mail a Single Bill for almost a year (2022 - early 2023). I get a disconnect and a bill for nearly $800 all at once in May 2023. When I called Piedmont for an extension, because I'm not working anything but odd jobs and not receiving any assistance from any agency the answer was "NO, YOU HAVE TO PAY IT, THAT'S IT, NO EXTENSION, CAN'T WAIVE ANYTHING!" I've never dealt with a Utility company that didn't cut their customer ANY BREAKS, FEE WAIVERS, OR EXTENSIONS AT ALL - and I'm from ***. Dealing with Piedmont Natural Gas is like dealing with the German Gestapo; they really need to change their company culture and stringent, ridiculous policies when dealing with their customers. #ReallySadReview from oscar d

Well.....pretty much took advantage of me being new to this state. I don't know if there are other gas companies around, but I know this one is BAD. I moved to a new house and I wasn't told by the owners that the furnace didn't work at all, by the time I figured it out I had already connected the gas service. Somehow I still have to pay them 54and change dollars and I didn't use any gas at all (CCF) ,when I called to explain and ask why they gave me some ridiculous reason why I was being charged.I have all the bills and it shows that no gas was used at all. Seriously?? what A JOKE and not even a funny one. If I had money, I would *** them, but I'm broke annnndddd now thanks to pissmont Im a little more broke.Review from NoNotary

On 17 AUG 2023 I called requesting natural gas services be activated for a house I signed a lease on in ************, **. On 17 AUG 2023 the phone representative informed me that she could not validate who I said I was and that I was required to complete an identity verification from. I informed her that I have three other utilities active in the local area and have for over ************************************************************************* the recently signed lease be proof of identity and requirement for activation. On 25 AUG 2023 I called to speak with a supervisor since I was unable to get a notary in a timely manner with moving into the new house and getting kids enrolled in school. The piedmont natural gas company supervisor listened to my request to allow the other two documents (Lease and military orders) but provided no assistance or logic to piedmont natural gas activation request. The discussion provided evidence that piedmont natural gas has antiquated activation policies and a significant lack of understanding, the supervisor only wanted to say "I am sorry, but that is our process."Review from Phebe H
