VERY FRUSTRATED!!!!!! This is the worst place I have ever dealt with!! Im about to lose my mind! I have been making payments on time! It was all going great, then in Feb 2025. I switched banks and added my new form of payment and since then none of my payments go through. I have the funds! Its May now and still no payments will go through. When I try to reach out they literally tell me, You have no funds and its getting denied. I HAVE THE FUNDS!!!! I have been to my bank to see if maybe it was on there end, but they see nothing not one attempt for a payment, my bank also said if they were making these attempts and I didnt have funds like they say, I would have extra charges for insufficient funds. But there is nothing not one attempt for these payments. All my info in my account is correct, I feel something is wrong on their end. Ive talked to 6 people now and all I get told is you need to make a payment! I try to explain and am making payments! I do everything all over again and still they cant get my payment to go through. Meanwhile my credit is gonna take a hit! I dont this is fair NOT my fault! I cant get through to anyone! I dont know what to do anymore. Im tired of being told my payment didnt go through, because I didnt have the funds. I HAVE THE FUNDS!!

Multiple lending institutions are contacting me with loan options on my house. I have paid off the loan on my house over 20 years ago and have no need for getting another loan. When I ask who told them I need a new loan on my house they report they were contacted by The Lending Tree. I spoke with The Lending Tree and told them I have no need for a loan. They responded by saying there must be a mistake and that they will notify the lenders to stop bothering me however I continue to get multiple phone calls on a daily basis by aggressive sales people trying to sell me a loan I don't need and don't want. I am a physician and being harassed multiple times a day is the last thing I need. I have an unlisted number that The Lending Tree has gotten and is freely giving out. The entire situation is extremely frustrating.

So I utilized the Lending Tree website to see what kind of mortgage Id qualify for. I knew that would come with spam calls so I kindly asked the first **** who contacted me to remove me from their call list as I was just browsing (as I indicated on the online questionnaire). She said she would and I thought it was done. Theyve blown up my phone in text messages and phone calls and they will not leave me alone regardless of how many times I block them they call from a new number. They wont take no for an answer and they wont remove me from their call list.

    Business Response

LendingTree, LLC apologizes that the consumer is unsatisfied with our service.  The consumer has been unsubscribed per their request.  In addition, the lenders that were matched with the consumer have been informed and have placed the consumer on their do not call list. The request will take ***** hours for the do not call list to be updated and 7-10 business days for the emails to subside. Unfortunately, we are not able to remove the information from our database due to state and federal record retention laws. We sincerely hope this information has resolved the concerns in this matter.

Company continues to sell my information to various mortgage lenders even after multiple notices to stop. I have never used Lending Tree before. I have submitted the "Do not Contact" web form multiple times throughout the last few years and I still get called and texted by lenders multiple times a day. I called Lending Tree and told them to stop as well.

LendingTree, LLC has investigated the matter addressed in the complaint. We apologize the consumer is unsatisfied with our service.?
After investigation, we believe that another user input the consumers phone number by mistake. The phone number has now been unsubscribed per the consumers request.  The lenders the other user was matched with have been informed and have placed the number on their do not call list.  Additions to the Do not call list will take ***** hours to process.

LendingTree, LLC sincerely hope this information has resolved your concerns in this matter.?

    Better Business Bureau:

Thank you for taking the time to review this and receive a response from Lending Tree. Someone has been using my phone number to sign up for Lending Tree for many years, so I am concerned that, while they took my information off of the Do Not Call list this time (which I have done multiple times in the past), that it will continue to happen again in the future. Can you request Lending Tree to have a more thorough validation of the data inputted to their system, which some entities may be using to impersonate an individual like in my case, to block people from using my information on the Do Not Call list to sign up for Lending Tree's services? There must be a request or sign-up log somewhere in their system of my phone number being entered in multiple times. It may also not be an individual "person" that keeps mistakenly entering my phone number for years on the same website, but some "entity" that has stolen my PII to commit malicious acts - Lending Tree is notorious for selling your information to third parties that are involved in unethical practices. I have never signed up for this website and never will. Please make sure they do not retain any information on me, other than the fact that my information is on the Do Not Call list.

    Thank you.

    Business Response

Unfortunately, LendingTrees systems do not have the ability to prevent or block phone numbers from being used for loan inquiries. When completing a loan inquiring form, consumers are opting to provide their consent in searching for lender products regardless of inclusion on the National Do-Not-Call registry and phone numbers often change ownership.
As previously stated, our investigation determined that it is likely that your number was used in error by another consumer requesting loan information and not for any perceived malicious act.
In response, your phone number has been unsubscribed per your request.  In addition, the lenders that were provided with the phone number have been informed and have placed the consumer on their do not call list.

We sincerely hope this information has resolved the concerns in this matter.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my complaint, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I will reopen another case if this happens again, and if that happens, I will request a more long-term solution as I described previously to prevent others from freely inputting your information, as I have no control over this other person mistakenly inputting my phone number with the current system that Lending Tree has.

    Thank you.

I received a letter from *********** regarding a loan application that was not submitted by me to them. I phoned them to discuss where the loan application came from. They indicated to me that it was submitted by Lending Tree. This likely happened because I visited their website to find comparisons for loan rates, not to actually apply for a loan. I realize that finance companies and banks sometimes do soft inquiries, but this appears to be a submitted application which would be regarded as a hard inquiry --which I did not initiate. While *********** has no loan on file for me with them, there was an application number assigned. There should be some explanation as to why Lending Tree would submit an application I didn't actually process myself. Would like an explanation.

    Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because it really doesn't answer my question. I wanted to understand who actually approved the loan application itself. (Since I did not.) I fully understand what Lending Tree's role is. But, I've never heard of ***********. When I called them to find out who actually applied for the loan in my name, they informed me that it was Lending Tree. They also knew it did not come from my actually applying for a Loan from them. The results of the application has nothing to do with my question. I just wanted to know what triggered an actual application to be filed (since it had an actual application number assigned), since it was not me.  After further review of my credit file, it does not appear  as an actual loan application on my credit history. It was then a possible soft inquiry after they got information about my loan comparison activities on Lending Tree. ***********'s letter was misleading (even when I later phoned them about it). They referred me to Lending Tree and made it appear as though someone else other than me applied for an actual loan in my name. I was checking for possible identity theft.

    Business Response

    Date: 04/28/2025

Happy to provide additional clarity on the events surrounding your complaint. Based on the information provided, the consumer should not be concerned with a potential instance of identity theft.

*********** is one of the lender partners (*****************************************************)LendingTree attempts to provide loan offers with upon completion of our form and each lender varies in terms of any communication with consumers following a loan request/inquiry.

When the personal loan inquiry was submitted on 4/15, *********** was one of the lenders matched with the consumer. LendingTree provided the consumers information, as indicated on the consent, which triggered what Jenius identifies internally as an application. Because a loan offer was not extended by the partner, only offers would be visible to the consumer within the LendingTree platform.
We sincerely hope this information has resolved the consumers concerns in this matter.

I just got the app credit karma. IThe app gives preapproved offers of many high interest loans I DID NOT apply for any of them as we decided it was better to take a home equity loan to pay off debt we incurred due to elderly parents. My phone rang Incessantly. Now I am getting notices of a declined app from several stating lending tree applied for a loan! We never applied or submitted a hard application!

Monday April 7 2025 I did a ****** search for "****** commercial building loan calculator" The first ad was from Lending tree and said "Lending Tree Commercial Loan Calculator". I clicked the link and filled out some info, and immediately started getting calls/texts/emails from all kinds of lenders...I was getting 2-4 calls per minute for a while, tons of texts, and tons of emails. I did not consent to sharing my info. I was not asked if my info could be shared. I had no clue there was a chance my info would be shared. I called and requested to be put on the do not call list, do not email list, do not text list, and they said it will take 7-10 days for it to go into effect....which is too long to deal with the number of calls/texts I'm getting. I asked them to remove my information from their system and they will not do that. I'm not sure what to do. This was false advertising. A loan calculator is VERY different than actually applying for a loan.
