    LendingTree, LLC apologizes that the consumer is unsatisfied with our service. The consumer has been unsubscribed  and put on the Do No Call list per their request. In addition, the lenders that were matched with the consumer have been informed and have placed the consumer on their do not call list. The request will take ***** hours for the do not call list to be updated and 7-10 business days for the emails to subside. We sincerely hope this information has resolved the concerns in this matter.

    I wanted to ****** money from lending tree same amount in the amount of ****** dollars they sent me 995 and ask me to get 3 cards and send them 330 dollars on each card for insurance. I did that and they send me another 995. I sent them one card then they blocked both checks they had sent to my bank. Now I am short 1700 dollars and my bank closed my long time account because of this incident.

LendingTree would not directly request access to any personal or banking information or tell the consumer they are approved for a loan. Any communication regarding pre-qualified loan application and/or loan approval letters sent to the consumer would have come from one of our lender partners (*****************************************************) with whom the consumer was matched through from their initial requests through LendingTree.
    The matter addressed in the complaint and the approval document provided is a LendingTree impersonation fraud. The consumer should cease all contact with the impersonator immediately. We recommend the consumer alert the credit bureaus of any potential suspicious activities on their credit report; contact their local authorities to notify them if they have been a victim of fraud and need further assistance on how to handle his current situation.LendingTree, LLC sincerely hope this information helps resolve the consumer's concern in this matter.

    I searched for a loan on their site. I Immediately received 22 spam calls in about 3 minutes, make that 23. I blocked all but that last one, at this point.

    appliction was done on line, for auto, home insurance, site states you're moving a "discount"by chossing credit/debit card, you'll pay an extra $34 for your policy, site states pay with checking/saving or continue with credit/debit, they want you to use your bank account, will show why moving forward,as well states will use third party reports about claims history and/or movingviolations to verify infomation that may impact quoted price, you have to check that box information disclosure I understand that ************** Insurance will use third party which is the main reason for this application and has no intention of helping any participant, thereis laws against this type of behavior, when doing application it first ask you about payment information?, checking /saving account $34 saving, or credit card you pay $34 more?, pick credit card next inter payment detail, after doing all this and the information that is requested, it goes to Quote details, and next up checkout almost done make sure all information is rightto finalize your price, after all done your information is saved, official insurance, now give you two top rated carrier, liberty mutual, progressive,pick liberty, as stated before, who states online security: protect against "FRAUD" when completed save and continue, two credit cards were used neither one work they want you to use your bank account, the six months policy was shown, but you can not print that document other section you can?,the next day had over 15 or more calls from all kinds of insurance companies the email were outrageous at best getting over 15 or more a day, all kinds of spam calls, my life will never be the same, this is a fact they take all your personal information, first than you pick how you want to pay, when intered card did not work tryed another card it didn't work saw the quote details, enter age, never got the policy, becauseliberty did not take either of the two credit cards, thats how they work no auto or home *****

    As previously indicated, QuoteWizard is a subsidiary of LendingTree. Prior to completing the inquiry form, a disclosure was displayed on the last step of the request page stating how the consumers information will be used prior to completing the form. Once the consumer completed the form by clicking Get My Auto & Home Quotes or Get My Auto Quotes Only,they provided express written consent to allow QuoteWizard/LendingTree to share the consumers information with their network partners and their affiliates for the purpose of providing the consumer with information about their financial services and products through telemarketing calls, text messages, emails,and/or postal mail from the website.
    The matter address in this complaint involves the matched network partners not QuoteWizard. The consumer clicked on the View My Ratefor the match carriers from the QuoteWizard/LendingTree request form, which then took them to the carriers website directly to complete the carriers application for their actual quote and the offer for discount depending on the payment form.

    Lending Tree LLC processed a fraudulent application in my name and disseminated my personal information to insurance, mortgage and loan companies without my permission. When I contacted them to report it and gather information on how to protect myself, they gave me circular responses, did not even tell me when this happened and told me my only option is to try to get a subpeona from "local law enforcement" and request the information they already put out. There was no resolution, only an email on all of the steps I have to take to try to get the information they have & disseminated illegally. This company is a complete scam and fraud and help scammers and fraudsters by blocking innocent victims from protecting themselves. This is a terrible company.

    The company's web advertising, and their webpages are misleading and flat out lie to you. They lead you to believe that you will be given rates/terms/offers in real-time and then pulls a bait and switch on you. They do not offer real-time offers whatsoever.

    The qualifications, rates, and other terms for a given loan request is set by the lender, not LendingTree. Typically, rates are provided with the loan options. However, on occasion depending on the criteria entered by the consumer and credit profile, they may not qualify for the automated home equity loan set to provide any rates. Therefore, indicated by the matched lenders, further discussion is needed to provide an offer with rates to the consumer.
    LendingTree, LLC apologizes that the consumer is unsatisfied with our advertisement and service. We have taken the complaint as an opportunity to review and strengthen our internal processes to ensure our advertisements are clear and prominently disclose all material terms and conditions as required by applicable laws and regulations.

    Upon careful review, it has become evident that the document provided is not authentic and are fraudulent. This is someone potentially impersonating LendingTree and attempting to defraud the consumer in some way.  In addition, any email communications from LendingTree would have an email address ending with @************************** domain and not @***********.
    We understand the consumers frustration and regret the inconvenience this situation has caused.

    On May 21, 2025 I received a text message from Lending Tree stating I was approved for a $7000.00 loan and monthly payments would be $179.55 for 48 months. The text provided this phone number to contact to proceed with the offer *************. When I called this number the gentleman answered Lending Tree, so I thought I was calling a legitimate company. The gentleman asked to have access to our banking account so he could deposit the loan. I gave him access to our accounts using this link: ************************************************************************. This is where everything turned into a scam. He made mobile deposits into our account and then asked me to withdrawal the money using Cash App. Using Cash App I gave the scammer $200.00 and $400.00 of my money. He kept telling me he was going to deposit the loan amount, but due to my low credit score I needed to send money. This is when the scammer requested, I go to ******* and get **** ******* cards in the amounts $491.00 and $301.00. These were purchased and I have the receipts to prove the purchased. I was scammed out of a total of $1392.00. ********************************* where I bank is not refunding me this amount, because I was the one that gave this scammer access to my accounts. I have bills to pay like a car loan and mortgage. Thanks to this person who is using your Company's name, I'm out $1392.00.

    LendingTree claims it will allow you to compare loan rates on its website, but only sells my info when I offer it in response to its deceptive offer. Then they sold me data to more than two dozen lenders who immediately began harassing me by text, phone and email. I only wanted to look at rates. Now I am committed to not doing any business with any of the lenders that LendingTree partners with and I am telling the lenders that I will not becasue they encourage this deceptive behavior in their partnership with LendingTree. I tried to contact LendingTree to stop the harassment but they do not provide customer service on weekends. This is unacceptable behavior by LendingTree

    I am rejecting this response because: my intent was to highlight the deceptive practices LendingTree uses to solicit and sell consumer data. The fact that they have other complaints similar to mine and a form letter they send to the BBB in response to the consumer complaint is obvious this is an ongoing issue. I also frequent other sites that cater to consumers, like Bankrate and Credit Karma. They also sell consumer data, but they have explicit pop *** that warn consumers that agreeing to terms from this point further will result in lenders contacting you directly. But a key difference in their models is they provide comparative rates first from the lenders and then offer the opportunity to have one or more contact the consumer directly. LendingTree immediately sells the lead to the lenders and then offers NO comparative rates to consider. This is incredibly deceptive and results in dozens of lenders harassing the consumer by text, phone and email. 

    I have told every lender who contacted me why Im not doing business with them - because of the way LendingTree deceived me to get my date to sell leads. And I urged them to work with more reputable companies like Bankrate and Credit Karma so they are not tarnished by LendingTrees unscrupulous tactics. 

    please post my complaint along with LendingTrees reponse so other consumers will know what to expect from this company. While they claim consumers are fully alerted to their data and lead selling practices, their disclosures do not specify that they will not provide rates for consumers to compare as promised and they do not offer consumers the option to block or limit solicitation from their partners after reviewing rates. This is highly deceptive, unprofessional and not in keeping with other best practices of protecting consumer data by marketing companies and other parties in the business of lead generation.

    The completion of the LendingTree Home Equity form allows LendingTree to match our users with lenders and offers pertinent to your specific loan requirements, qualifications, geography and other factors.
    In reviewing your offer page, you were presented with rates from two network partners and matched with several others who did not present rates on your offers page but who provided contact information to discuss your options further. We can understand the frustration with not receiving more rates to compare for your Home Equity options.
    LendingTree encourages all of its partners to display rate information, and most lenders on our network return rate information for most loan products. Unfortunately, for home equity, the technology needed for lenders to be able to generate and return offers to third-party platforms such as ours varies by lender and loan type. In some cases, this technological constraint limits lenders' ability to return instant loan offers with rate information for home equity productshence these lenders offer to discuss your loan options further.
    LendingTree continues to work with our lender partners to evolve our integrations and work towards being as helpful to consumers as possible.

    I am rejecting this response because the explanation is not consistent with the experience of other platforms that serve consumer financial queries, such as Bankrate and Credit Karma. They both display rates, noting that these are estimates provided by lenders based on limited information and rates can change. They also then offer to connect consumers with lenders if their choice, unlike your operations immediate submission of my consumer data to dozens of partners.

    Also, I received no rates on the page that promised to list rates to compare. You claim two were offered, but I did not receive them.

    my concern is the claim that you will offer consumers rates to compare if they surrender their data to you, and then you sell that data to dozens of lenders who continue to harass me by phone, text and email. You dont display rates.
