Lending Tree "approved" me for $5000 for moving after I had Covid. I was very happy. Name is *****************. **. He said to call in 45 min., so I did. He proceeded with, "You're approved, not a pre-approval but APPROVED." We need your bank info to have it "the same day by 4 p.m." direct deposited into your bank account. I gave him my bank info, mobile app log-info to deposit it.I also had Covid. Jobs weren't hiring much, applied over 330 jobs, for work at home, but no luck. I'm trying to move into my new home, so I applied through Lending Tree. I thought it was real. After confirming my log-in ***** *********** of ************ info, *****************, at Lending Tree then told me, "Now, go to a DOLLAR GENERAL, 7-ELEVEN,WALMART. Call me back, before you're walking into the store."He even had a "mgr." named Cliff, then changed it to ***** to tell me this is a real loan. I would give it ZERO stars if i could. Now, I found this very strange, at first, but, he said I just have to pay "first" pay them some fees, to be "reimbursed" to the loan company, then I am to get my money approximately "45 minutes" after I've made the payment(that he would first put in my bank account via mobile app with my bank or (plural) my other bank etc., ( I have a few bank accounts.) I replied, Well, "I don't understand if I'm really approved for $5000.00 why wouldn't you just send over the paperwork via electronic email, I sign it, I get my money?" His response was, "Because you first have to show the bank, you're serious and you're able to TRUST me, just buy a few gift cards, put the money that I am going to "place into your account" and send it back." When i realize this is maybe a scam, I stopped talking to him. Reported it to the bank, who gladly RUSH to close my account.Got a new one as we speak.I don't have to pay a cent back."I hope ***************** is caught. BEWARE everyone. If this help avoid 1 person from being scammed by ***************** *********,** Lending Tree, (if even his real name)then my job is done.
