I was recommended to this fence company by my builder back in February 2022. *************************** asked that we provide 50% deposit ($5,597.50) and then they would order our fence so that it could be put in at the beginning of the summer once the house was finished. I have been very patient, because we had a lot of rain this summer. Response time has been very poor and I lost hope until ******* showed back up early August to do a re-measure making me feel that we were getting close. Now I am not able to get ahold of anyone at this point. I have tried to contact ***************************, ***********************, and ************************* to find out if I could get a definitive date of install or refund. *************************** son ************************, Owner of Tri County fence and deck cashed my down payment in March 2022. After no contact, we called. Excuse after excuse to why our fence was not up we demanded our money back. ***** said it would be coming back from supplier. There is a FB page over 16 members with exactly same scenario. We paid this company almost $5000 (half) for a backyard fence in May 2022. We never got the fence. Now their doors are locked, business gone, and they wont communicate with us. We want our money back.Initial Complaint

First let me say my wife and I are disabled. We told ******* we needed the fence for our dogs because we can't walk them. We signed a contract for a fence on March 17, 2022. Like every other victim we were told 6 weeks to install fence. They cashed the check within an hour, red flag number one. No responses to emails or messages, red flag number two.After six weeks of no contact, we started contacting them. Very hard to get them to answer. The few times I got a hold of *******, he said we are on the schedule and rain was the issue; this went on for weeks.On June 20, ******* left a message that they wanted to install Fence the next day. I told them we are getting sod that day and it would have to wait. I asked him how you are going to install the fence when you:1. Don't have a permit from Lake St. Louis.2. Don't have a valid business license for Lake St. Louis.3. You didn't call DIG RITE to mark the utilities. I told him I wanted his dad's contact information and sent another email. He responded back we won't have any more trouble moving forward. He would not give me dad's contact information. After research I was able to get his dad's contact information which ******* refused to give me. I called ***** and he seemed like reasonable man and that once sod was rooted, they would install the fence. Well, I have been trying to contact ***** since August 15 and have been unsuccessful after phone calls, messages and texts. Luckily, ******* did answer on 08-23-2022. I voiced my concerns again and he told me ***** would call me 08-24-2022. I waited until the end of day and called ******* again and ask why no one called me back. He said he was just about to, right! Like always we got many excuses which will be presented in a different venue. We have much more detailed records of conversations that will be used elsewhere.At this point we are done and just want our deposit of $3,635.00 back in full so to hire a reputable fencing contractor.Initial Complaint

On February 1st, 2022 I entered into a contract with Tri County Fence and Deck for the replacement of the fence at my residence. At this time I made an electronic deposit of $4,497.50 and was told that the estimated install date would be in 6 weeks. It’s now almost 7 months later, and the work hasn’t begun. I’ve made numerous attempts to communicate with the company to establish an installation date. I didn’t receive responses to many of the inquiries (phone calls, text messages, and emails). However, sales manager twice responded that that my project was “coming up soon.” He told me this first on April 22nd and again on June 20th. No follow up ever occurred. On July 25th, 2022, I sent a letter (attached) via **** ********* **** to the company providing a timeline of my inquiries and expressing my lack of confidence the fence would be installed within the next 30 days. I requested a full refund of my deposit and asked for a reply with a resolution by August 8th. Since the company didn't receive the letter until August 11th (according to **** ********* **** tracking), I've waited an additional 14 days before filing this complaint. I haven't received a response from the company; therefore, I am requesting a refund of my deposit.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because it lacks specificity. There are no details identifying what this plan
will “accommodate.” It doesn’t offer either a refund or an install date. The company’s statement that it’s establishing a plan as soon as possible is similarly
vague to previous statements that my install date was coming up soon. The
seven-month wait isn’t acceptable. I want a refund of my deposit.

On March 17th signed contract Sale Associate with verbal agreement of “6 weeks out”
Mid April HomeOwner called for an update but no response.

—Office Associate replied “That’s what we are planning”,
Aug. 17th and 18th HomeOwner text all three Business Owners in group chat
—Business Owner responded Aug. 18th “I apologize for the late reply we are waiting on our contractor to let us know when they are available. We will let you know.”
—HomeOwner emailed Sales Associate asking for them to send me an Itemized receipt. No response.,
Aug. 19th HomeOwner text all three Business Owners in group text asking fro an update on the cost of material or receipt I have called multiple times since then with even more text follow ups and no one will answer me. You can check their facebook page reviews and see that other families have been affected. They also are advertising as BBB A+ since February 2020. We have been ghosted. I believe they have good intentions but require better communication, customer service, honesty/transparency, and additional workers.Business Response

That was a very generic response that I have been hearing for months now. Can you kindly give a definitive time frame? Unfortunately 5 months versus the original 6-8weeks promised is a long time. With the various promised install dates and no responses or heads up has highly affected our work space accommodations. All I have asked for is transparency and communication. As the customer we should not track you down for updates. I no longer am willing to wait for an installation after the end of August. I am willing to buy out right the materials if you are waiting for contractors. If you will not agree to that then I want an itemized receipt of what you purchased with our down payment and of our materials. If you cannot produce I want a full refund if the $4,500.00

March 15, 2022 signed contract and paid $2500 to Tri-County Fence and Deck for a 4foot high white picket fence to be installed within 6 weeks. It has now been over 5 months. After numerous attempts to contact we visited the business and found no one or no sign. What can I do?Business Response

Contracted with this company on 4/14/22 was told fence would be installed at the end of May begining of June depending on weather. By end of June I began calling and questioning, when I get a text back it was full of promise and delay. In July I actually recieved an install date, no one showed up. at the end of the month digrite actually came out to mark property, again no one from company ever showed up. I have been promised phone calls for last two weeks, and recieved nothing. I have texted numurous times, but specifically on Aug 18,2022 I requested funds back and was promised call. Nothing. Today Aug 19th I again have requested to meet so that I can get a refund. Silence!Business Response
