I bought meat from a tent vendor Better Beef Brands with labeled boxes **** and all claiming great deals on labor day weekend today and when I got them home they smelled rotten and dont look edible. Now I read online that multiple sicknesses and all have happened. I can not find the vendor again and would like a refund. I spent 309$ and am a small struggling family. I can not get a hold of anyone or any answers. We are not eating this food. It breaks my heart. I do not want to risk sickness.Initial Complaint

I received a box of steaks from the truck on hall road on Saturday the 16th. So far we have tryed the small ribeyes and the filets. They are near impossible to bite through. I love steak and am not even that picky but these have all been complete garbage. I've never had worse! Must disappointing 200 purchase ive ever made.Initial Complaint

Stampede Ranch and Farms advertised on ******** that they were going to be in our area this past weekend. So we came to the event on Sunday, August 10th, 2025 to find that they were selling meat out of the back of a freezer truck. They advertise that they are **** approved and are "farm to table" so we thought it was legit. We purchased $473 worth of steaks, chicken and seafood. We got home and immediately put it in the freezer. The next day we cooked 4 steaks and the meat did not look right. It looked discolored and unnatural. The steaks were so incredibly thin and appeared to be pumped with brine. When they were cooked there was an excessive amount of fluid that came out. It didn't taste normal and even the fat looked different. After reading all of the reviews on here, we definitely dont want to try any of the other meat we bought. There seem to be a lot of reports of people getting sick from this food. I'm not going to feed this to my family. This company should be shut down! We tried to call the number on the website but received no response. We received no receipt for our purchase but we still have all the meat and the packaging. We would like a full refund as we feel we have been scammed.Initial Complaint

I bought steaks this weekend at a popup sale that was advertised on our local radio station. The steaks were advertised as premium cuts, safe for consumption, etc. Each of the steaks were vacuumed sealed and frozen which I was fine with and appeared to be normal when you looked at them and they were passed off as USDA choice steaks by the seller. As we were in line they handed out fliers that took you to their website and by all appearances it looked to be a legitimate business that operated much like Omaha Steaks does. It looks like these people travel across America to different cities doing this same thing. After I took the steaks home I cooked one and it made my wife and I sick. The steak did smell a little weird but I assumed it would have been safe since they claimed they were **** inspected and the business was promoted by our local radio station. After getting sick from the first steak, I opened a second one and examined it in more details. There were tiny slits all over the steak which I had never seen before. After doing some cursory googling I found out that this happens when you mechanically tenderize steaks. The process of mechanically tenderizing steaks adds additional bacteria in the process and requires them to be cooked to a much higher temperature to kill the bacteria that you wouldnt cook a normal steak at. I would assume this is why my wife and I got sick. After we got sick I called the number on the receipt they gave me. The number took me straight to a voicemail that didnt have any sort of message so I left a message asking for a refund. They never called back. I then decided I would go to the website that was on the receipt. They took the website down over the weekend. The website is ******************************************************.Initial Complaint

Date of Transaction: June 2, 2025 Amount Paid: $452.17 Location: *****************, ************ Business Name: Homestead Steaks LLC (mobile vendor)Description of Transaction:I approached a mobile meat vendor for ribeyes, but the man at the table (white male, glasses, *****) pitched a bundle deal claiming the meat was grass-fed, healthy, and high-quality. He said the deal was only valid for the week and everything must go. I agreed and paid $452.17. I later realized a 3% tip/service charge was added without my knowledge, which I did not authorize.I received three boxes: fish filets, various chicken cuts, and various steaks and beef products. No refund policy was posted or mentioned. The meat was frozen within 1015 minutes of purchase. What Went Wrong:Shortly after, I ate their chicken and felt mildly sick, but dismissed it. On June 6, I cooked a steak and bit into a tough, rubbery object with three ends that looked like a parasite or worm. I preserved the object, the packaging (labeled USDA Est. *****), and two cooked steaks from the same package. Photos were taken. Ive since learned the business has an F rating with the BBB and a history of similar complaints. The quality was far below what was ***************** Response:I attempted contact via three phone numbers. Two didnt work, one went to voicemail. I left a detailed message explaining the issue and that I would report the company. I received no response. The website I found appears inactive.Resolution Desired:I want a full refund and a formal investigation into Homestead Steaks LLC and their supplier, Essential Foods Direct (Est. *****). If contamination or a parasite is confirmed, I intend to pursue legal action.Initial Complaint

I purchased from one of the popup stands done. I was told each box was approx. 15lb. Neither box was once I opened it up and verified contents when I got home. I went back, wanting a refund, as the website states it must be same day, but I was told that it would be considered as me changing my mind and that a refund wasn't an option. This company was also labeled as homestead steaks LLC, which does appear when searching BBB, but of course once you click it, it shows that the name had actually changed. None of the packaging shows this name change. The only way I was able to find it was by searching BBB. The Ribeye 20 ribeye for $40 was correct and not falsely *************. In other words, lied to in person about the weight of the boxes, and refused a return/refund under the claim that it consistutes a change of mind.Initial Complaint
