  "We successfully litigated a lawsuit against Affordable Kitchens (AKB) and were awarded $42,500 in damages. Unfortunately, we have only been able to recover $13,000 to ******* February 2022, we contracted with *** to remodel our kitchen for approximately $30,000. However, the individual sent to perform the demolition and drywall work was not an employee of *** and did a substandard job, leaving our kitchen in disarray for six months. Despite numerous attempts to follow up, no further work was completed by ****We were forced to hire another company to finish the job, incurring additional costs of $10,000. We subsequently filed a lawsuit against *** in *********************************** early 2024. Notably, *** failed to appear in court.Prior to initiating litigation, my wife attempted to resolve the issue through the Better Business Bureau (BBB) in 2022. Although the BBB ultimately acknowledged that *** did not make a good faith effort to resolve the issue, they failed to take further action or update their rating. We believe that had the BBB taken a more proactive stance, it may have prevented other consumers from falling victim to ***'s business practices and suffering financial losses."

  My sister paid up front for cabinets to remodel my late fathers home before we sell. She wrote a check for over $9K on January 3rd, 2025 and was told it would take 7-10 days. We are now going into March with no answered phone calls or follow-up of any kind. A family member goes by the business everyday, and no one is there. Unbelievable that this is happening. Run away fast and far.

  Put a large deposit down on 7/12/2024 for a full bath remodel that was supposed to be completed in 5 days at the end of October. October came and they pushed us to November, then December 21st and then JANUARY 2nd. I warned them if they werent here by 9am on January 2nd that I would file a fraud claim with my credit card company and post a negative review with the BBB. No response to my very angry voicemail and they never showed up on January 2nd! Im requesting a full refund with my credit card company and will warn everyone to stay far, far away from this company!!! Their customer service is NONEXISTENT!!!

  AKB remodeled our master bath 5 years ago and it was beautiful. However, I just found that the shower wall is detaching from the main wall. Called and spoke with ****** who said he would pull our paperwork and get back to **. He texted the next day asking for pictures which we sent. No reply. Asked if he got the pics to which he said Yes, but nothing else. Waited until after the Labor Day holiday to call again and ****** apologized for not getting back. Said he would have his installer call us back and come out that day or the next - but nothing. Two weeks later - still nothing and we think it was installed improperly so why would we want them to do any further damage. Will be moving on to some other option. In the past two years, they remodeled our kitchen and it is also very nice. I'm not sure what has happened and I am disappointed that they are not willing to come out and look at the issue in our bathroom. He did say it was out of warranty and I'm OK with that but still nothing. (I never could find any warranty information in any of our paperwork for either remodel - so not sure what it is.)

  DO NOT do business with AKB! The worst for communication, job ********************** service. ***************************** - son of ***********************, sadly runs things now so you have no choice but to work with him if you do business here. Our process began for a *************** back in March and we're now over 7 months. Originally told 6 weeks! Gave down payment and told 13 weeks. At 9 weeks, hadn't heard anything & stopped by the store for an update. Finally, they came to do the final measurements Red flag -cash or check only. July 17-no work again, we stopped by -more excuses. Asked for the owner to call us. 5 months later for the first time EVER we heard from Brit. Told us others were waiting longer than us. Not a good sign. Things looked like they were finally going to be completed the week of Aug. 14 - NOT. The doors on backwards & not aligned, holes in the onyx walls, shower fixture (wrong one) was loose, caulking job horrible, and the fan never connected properly. Vanity was defective. We have not been able to use or turn the water on. Contacted **** and ***********************, owner of Mission Contracting immediately with email, pictures and a phone call as the guys left saying "enjoy your shower". Told 2 weeks and they would replace and send new guys. No communication & numerous unanswered emails from Brit. Sept. 21 stopped by the store again and videoed. We learned our replacement materials were in and nobody called. We've had to contact the BBB, ************************* and now a private lawyer. Brit has been rude, patronizing, and condescending. From our ****** Review, we have met and come into contact with others in the same situation with AKB since **** took over. **** told Atty. **** we have a fully functional shower and he knows we do not! AKB is denying us a refund to hire someone else and he refuses to honor the original contract. Breach of contract. Best advice -DO NOT use this unscrupulous company. AKB has our money and we do not have a functional shower.
